I'm not sure, if you can help her.
People who suffer very much refuse any kind of help, because nobody knows what they feel. They often don't want to share their feelings with others. A normal reaction for compassion is denial.

If she wants to suffer, if she wants to believe, that her father is still alive, she probably needs it.
I would live her alone. I would try to believe at things she says.
I'm not sure if I understood correctly the story.
It's fascinating and strange.
I think she just wants to stay in her world. You won't force or encourage her for treatment.
She would explain to you why she refuses it. She probably feels OK in her state. I hope she will finally understand she can be happy and lead normal life again.

When she will be ready to realise her father is "there", not here, she will get out of it.

Religion can divide people. It doesn't have to be important at the beginning when emotions and feelings are at the first plan, but I'm afraid if she is a strong Catholic the fact you aren't very much into religion will finally cause she will start to think if she wants to be with a person for whom belief is not as important as it is for her.

An older men? You say they want them for something... What do you mean? It says that they expect something from start and this is a bit weird. If I expected money from my partner, I would not look at his age.

Maybe for some of them their experience and oldfashioned manners are worthful? Maybe they look for a protector? A future which will be safe with a men who doesn't care very much for everyday craziness? Who is just more responsible than many guys who are between 20 and 30?

I don't know any of them so I can't make comparisons. I also don't know you enough to tell you if you are macho.


I am Polish and the article is focused on Polish older women. Besides, age is not very important. Older women need to be told they are wonderful even more than young girls.


Well, decency is often relative. You can be with a decent women for years and after it,... a disaster. She was a liar who cared only for your wallet and nights with you, nothing more. A surprise, isn't it?

People just make mistakes. Some are good liars and perfect actors.

I guess I know one of the reasons why. Women like nice words. Polish men are often not the best at it. When a young girls hears "You are beautiful" or "You're so young and cute", "You're intelligent" and she likes the guy who says the words, she can easy fall in love with him. Just because of words, or just because of the way he looks at her.

Polish men will rather expect something more from her: better look, better social skills,... they are demading often. I am not sure about that...I just met in my life men who expected something really very special from their girlfriends.

I think men from other countries just accept women and adore them, look up to them, etc. But sometimes it last just for a moment. A moment long enough to fell in love with an Egiptian macho...

Of course. Like plenty other egoistic and materialistic people form all over the world. Money make life easier. It just depends on what is the most important for you. I'd like to be with a guy, who would show me how to be smart and just a bit alike other people in the awful world where I see mostly rat race and desire for money and success. Not a rich guy. But a guy who knows how to make money and who would like to teach me this.

Ok. I am not that naive. Many of my friends look not for a rich husband but for a men who will give them support. Who will tell her when she is worried with her work because she has a problem there, you will be fine, your boss behaved just like a prick. It maybe will never happen again. Be strong.

Women expect somebody who will give a good advice, somebody, who will show her how to earn money if she don't know how to do this, because she failed with it.

Polish girls tend to be sometimes very altruistic. I think they wanted to wash them. It means IMHO that they respect even dirty people. They are just too noble.

Yes, many of them do. We like to make "experiments" in the kitchen. We also like to taste foreign food. Italian is very popular among Poles as well as Greek, Chinese, other national cuisines with an emphasis on Mediterranean food.

Indian, Turkish, Persian are not popular in Poland, well, maybe except Turkish. There are some Turkish restaurants in my country.
Generally many Poles like spicy food and everything what looks good and is different then traditional Polish tomatoe soup, "schabowy" or chicken cutlet. We are open to getting to know new dishes form other countries I guess.

If I had an opportunity to study in Great Britain, I wouldn't even think twice about possibilities of studying in Poland.
But, in my case it would mean studying abroad. I'd like to study in Great Britain very much.

I don't understand it. If You want to see a brighter side of Polish reality, just start from Yourself. In the page is somehow described how foreigners (mostly) and Polish people who are abroad, see Poland. In many cases the picture is a bit pale and a bit exaggerated, but for haeven's sake, maybe this is your personal interpretation of the view? Maybe You remember Poland this way, and actually You have a difficulty with noticing some optimistic, new, modern, interesting, fascinating and filled with pride observations of many people who love and admire the country?
