History / Walesa says without meeting Mrs Thatcher in Gdansk Solidarnosc wouldn't have won [51]

protesters

The scummy anti-PiS rabble this time were unable to disrupt the memorial assembly. They were kept a good distance away by police so they could not shout down, drown out with bullhorns or heckle praying mourners praying. Since when do you support law-breaking? Everyone is free to demonstrate but not free to prevent someone else demonstrating That's why antagonistic gatherings must be at least 100 metres apart. That makes sense untess someone's goal is to have Hamburg-style street clashes. PiS will triumph, PiS will prevail, whilst PO is already disintegrating from internal decay.

History / Walesa says without meeting Mrs Thatcher in Gdansk Solidarnosc wouldn't have won [51]

Walesa

Lech Wałęsa hospitalised in Gdańsk heart ward for circulatory problems; illness prevented him taking part in anti-government protest
Former Polish president Lech Wałęsa, 73, was taken to the cardiology ward of a Gdańsk hospital with circulatory problems. His son Jarosław told reporters his father had felt faint and was overcome by a general sense of weakness. Wałęsa, who suffers from diabetes, looked unwell with an unnaturally red and puffy face when he attended President Donald Trump's recent speech in Warsaw. He was booed by many in the audience for his bitter feuding with the current conservative government and continued denial that he had briefly been a paid informer of the communist regime in the 1970s. Wałęsa's indisposition prevented him from attending an anti-government protest in Warsaw against a monthly observance of the 2010 Smolensk air disaster that killed all 96 people on board. Among them were many senior military and political leaders including President Lech Kaczyński, the twin brother of the leader of Poland's ruling conservative Law and Justice Party.

Free publicity from anti-government opponents contributes to record turnout at July's Smolensk observance; police set up metal barriers to prevent repeat of violence
Ever since the April 10, 2010 Smolensk air crash, family and friends of the disaster victims as well as sympathisers of the conservative Law and Justice party have held commemorative observances on the 10th of each month. It starts with Holy Mass and is followed by a march to the Presidential Palace where a memorial assembly is held. Since last December a group calling itself Citizens of the Polish Republic began disrupting the commemoration with bullhorns, noise-makers and loud chanting meant to drown out the proceedings. Opponents of the government tried to block June's March of Memory by sitting in the road and were forcibly removed by the police. Former Solidarity activist Władysław Frasyniuk was charged with attacking a police officer during the scuffle. turned into a clash as dozens of protesters staged a sit-in to disrupt the event. "I wish to thank those who want to deprive us of our civil right (to peacefully assemble). We have not had such a turnout and so many priests con celebrating the mass for some time," Law and Justice leader Jarosław Kaczyński said. "We will continue our commemoration until a monument is erected to the late President Lech Kaczyński and another to all the victims," he explained. Police set up metal barriers along both sides of the procession route, preventing a repeat of June's disruption.

And THAT was a breach of Polish etiquette. When in Poland do as the Poles do. His White House staff should've briefed him on that.

praised for ignoring Trump

And here I thought onyl the Anglo-a*sehole media were ignorant, but a fellow-Slav would have known about traditonal Polish chivalry and etiquette. Women are always greeted first whether by men or other women.

US-borm PolAms have already been bastardised by Anglo-influence and many come to Poland and visit long-lost relatives for the first time. The pushy Americana male sticks his hand out for it to be shaken and all he relatives make a beeline for the Missus with their hugs and triple-barrelled kises, Only then do they turn to the befuddled chauvinistic male.

The highpoint

Kennedy had his "Ich bin ein Berliner" and Reagan said: "Mr Gorbachev, tear down this wall!!
Trump's historic exhortation in Warsaw was: LET THEM COME TO POLAND!

It was preceded by the words: "We can have the largest economies and the most lethal weapons anywhere on Earth, but if we do not have strong families and strong values, then we will be weak and we will not survive. If anyone forgets the critical importance of these things, let them come to one country that never has. Let them come to Poland!"

just as crowds needed to be bussed in

You always dig up remote and irrelevant comparisons. You should have typed: Just as crowds needed to be bussed in by Schetyna for the million people he hoped would take part in a PiS-bashing demo. That incidentally was a total flop!

stood up to the commies

..And later threw in with the crooks who have bled Poland to line their pockets.
Never forget it was your bugbear Macierewicz who set up KOR and left only after Michnik's neo-Trotzkyites took over. And it was the Kazcyńskis who "made" the Wałęsa preisdency against the Jewboy mafia that did everything to discredit him even though his collabroation as a TW was not widely known at the time. Rather than standing for the presidency, the KOR mob broadly hinted that Wałęsa had done his thing and now could go back to Gdańsk and stay there. The isinuation was that he's too stupid to rule, that's the job for "enlightened" pro-KOR-ite elites, and only their compliant candidate, commie collborator, Mazower, er, um, I mean Mazowiecki, deserves to be "their" president.

You may have read about this in some leftist rag, but I was actually there covering it for the PolAm press and a major news agency.

Most powerful?

More signifiant was his admonitoin to a fat, flabby, hedonistic and emasculated PC Europe which lacks the will to defend its civiisation and survive.
The highpoint of Trump's visit was the keynote speech he delivered at Warsaw's Krasiński Square in front of a monumental memorial to the 1944 Warsaw Uprising against the German occupiers. Trump focused on Poland's turbulent history, its partitions, invasions and foreign occupations. "I am here today not just to visit an old ally but to hold it up as an example for others who seek freedom and who wish to summon the courage and the will to defend our civilisation." In a rousing address frequently interrupted by cheers he added: "The triumph of the Polish spirit over centuries of hardship gives us all hope for a future in which good conquers evil and peace achieves victory over war." He added: "The story of Poland is the story of a people who have never lost hope, who have never been broken and who have never, ever forgotten who they are."

most powerful words

Most powerful? A courtesy greeting extended to Szydło, Wałęsa, Duda and others. Trump seemed surprised that there were no ovations when he greeted Wałęsa. When Wałęsa and other pro-PO haters appeared on the scene, there was booing, whislting and shouts of "Bolek". The Polish people know who is who.

Trump's visit to Poland

Addrsssing a cheering, flag-waving crowd chanting "Donald, Donald", the US Chief Executive gave a rousing speech to Poles gathered in Krasiński Square. It was the msot por-Poloish speech ever given by an American president in Poland

"The triumph of the Polish spirit over centuries of hardship gives us all hope for a future in which good conquers evil and peace achieves victory over war," Trump said. "The story of Poland is the story of a people who have never lost hope, who have never been broken and who have never, ever forgotten who they are."

In a clear warning to Moscow Trump said: "The United States has demonstrated, not merely with words, but with its action, that we stand firmly behind article five, the mutual defence commitment," Article 5 of the NATO charter states that an attack on one alliance member is na attack on them all.

He praised Poland for spending the required two percent of GDP on defense and urged other NATO members to follow suit. But he added: "Money alone is not enough, there must also be the will to survive." That veiled criticism was directed at Western Europe's liberal elites which seem to have lost their will to defend their civilization in the face of the alien forces out to destroy it.

Trump's visit to Poland

In two days' time. the leader of the greatest super-power that has ever existed in the annals of mankind will be visitng Poland. He is coming to a coutnfry that largely shares his wholesome, conservative values devoid of the leftist scamsterism so tpyical of the Clintons, Obama, Tusk and Komorowski. He is coming to Poland, a frontline country, where boots-on-the-ground GIs are stationed for the first time as a safeguard against the whims of land-hungry Putin.

He will surely be greeted in Poland with Old Polish gościnność, not the cold shoulder West Europe's scummy, snooty, "lefter" than thou elites are known for. Hoffentlich, he will again refuse to shake Merkel's grubby paw. He'll probabyl give Putin the buiseness like the great Reagan who told Gorbachev: Mr Gorbachev, take down this (Berlin) wall.Updating, Trump could say: Mr Putin, give Crimea back to Ukraine, Withdraw your troops from that country and stop bankrolling the murderous separatists.

News / Polish Parents protest against Poland's pro-homo sex education [75]

Merged:

Canadian lezzie brainwashes kindergarteners as young as four

Lesbian teacher Pam Strong promotes homosexuality by brainwashing kids as young as four. "I started in Kindergarten. What a great place to start," she told a conference of homo activists. She uses various stories, books and gadgets to convince youngsters that sodomistic practices and homo-marriage are normal. Parents who often hold different values which they want ot pass on to their children are not consulted.

As someone raised just across the river from Windsor, Ontario, I can tell you that Canada was once a great place of unspoilt natural beauty and friendly, hospitable, salt-of-the-earth people. Then the leftist whackos, drug pushers and homo-agitators crawled out of the woodwork and forced their sick agenda down everyone's throat. Those who dare disagree are hounded, stigmatised, persecuted and even prosecuted. It's 1984-style "freedom" all over again!

Not you

Those living in Poland already enjoy freedom from Muslim invaders, violent crime, depravation of school children with patchwork families and gender brainwashing to a far greater degree than those living in the "progressive" (?!) West. So where's the problem?

inequality between men and women

Wouldn't you say far more women in Poland are medical doctors, dentists, lawyers, judges and even men's barbers than in many western countries? The inequality is largely aimed against males when in knee-jerk reactions biased woman judges rule in favour of women in most family cases not necessarily on the basis of merit. Things got so bad a fathers' association had to be set up to protect hapless daddies from female plots against them.

3-4 times lower,

Things can get so bad that people will be willing to earn less for the sake of personal and fmaily secuirty and peace of mind. BTW what is the price of peace of mind? By the pound or kilo? With your UK shopkeeper's mentality, you put a £, $, € or ZŁ price on everything.

if it never reaches the West

More and more Poles returning form trips abroad say they have encountered West Europeans who envy Poland. Most people are not PC ideologians, LGBT agitators or putrveyors of high-sounding but essentially meaningless slogans. They just want to live their lives, raise kids in a safe, people-friendly environment and go about their daily affairs. They do not want to shudder thinking about swarthy Muslim lechers lurking in the bushes whenever their teenage daughters are out late with friends or send young kids to school were they are told to gender-identify and not tell their parents what went on in class. Unless West European elites wise up, we may soon see West Europeans pulling up stakes and moving east for greater peace of mind.

President goes abroad

There is diplomatic protocol and social niceties but there are concrete differences. You can bet your bottom złoty Trump won't refuse to shake Duda's hand the way he snubbed Merkel during one photo op. Trump regards Poles as kindred spirits and shares Poland's traditional conservative values. Apart from the US, no country has done as much to strengthen and expand NATO as Poland. During presidential vists it's true that some points of convergence or common historical episodes with every country can always be found, but in Poland's case his speech-writers do not have to scrape the bottom of the proverbial barrel. Polish-American affinities are more than obvious.

At his press briefing HR McMaster curtain-raised Turmp's visit to Poland and said i.a.:

"He will give a major speech to the Polish people at Krasiński Square, epicenter of the 1944 War saw uprising against the brutal Nazi occupation. He will praise Polish courage throughout history's darkest hour, and celebrate Poland's emergence as a European Power. And he will call on all nations to take inspiration from the spirit of the Poles as we confront today's challenges."

whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2017/06/29/press-briefing-president-trumps-upcoming-visit-poland-and-germany

It is significant that Poland is being held up as an example to emulate at precisely the time the Germany, following their migration muck-up, have pounded yet another nail into Europe's coffin by changing their national anthem to: "F*gland, F*gland über Alles, über Alles in der Welt..." (homo-marriage with the right to adopt innocent orphans). Poland, thank God, continues to stand its ground against both the alien Muslim hordes and the LGBT onslaught.

People simply subconsciously hang out with their own type

An excellent analysis! It is the PC dicatorship and the liberal lefitsts backing it that is the root of the problem. It goes against human nature as exemplified by the saiyng: Birds of a feather.... Anarcho-leftist oddballs tryng to show how "tolerant", "liberal" and "accepting" they are of minorities are mainly ego-tripping show-offs. The weird hairdos, piercings and duds prove their desire to call attention ot themselves above all else.

News / Warsaw mayor torn between legaity and marital solidarity [3]

Warsaw's Lady Mayor Gronkiewicz-Waltz has been fined 6000 zł for failing to show up before the investigative commssion to which she had been summoned. She would surely be questioned about the many-million-złoty-worth ex-Jewish tenement her husband illegally bought for a song. Being privy to all the detials of his misdeed, she was faced by the dilemma of maintaining marital solidarity or truthfully testifying in the case. She cleverly chose yet a third option by claiming the commission was unconstitutional. That way she has bought some extra time before the dispute gets sorted out.

Regardless of the merits of this particular case, it provides an interesting point to ponder. What would you do in a similar situaiton, choose truth or marital solidarity? Does anyone know if a person questoined by such a commission is required to testify against one's spouse. In courts of law they are not.

Adam Michnik

Move over Pislamic, this is a new low which even the forum's LL has yet to outdo. At least no-one recalls him lying about his parents vital statistics. In an interview for Der Spiegel, Michnik said of himself: "As someone whose parents died in the Holocaust..." Such bald-faced hutzpa really takes the biscuit and exceeds even his normal daily output of lies and fabrications.

Hinde (later rebadged to Helena) Michnik died in 1969; Stalinist stooge Comrade Szechter lived till 1982.

News / Thousands of teachers to lose their jobs in Poland [57]

reasonably balanced

The definiton of balanced varies. Did the PO scmaster regime achieve the balance you prefer with their elitism and apatriotic stance including clipping the history curriculum in schools? Myself I believe PiS have restored the proper balance -- there's a Gliński for culttral heritage and Morawiecki for autonomous Polish business development. And no scams to compare with the Tusk-blessed AmberGold affair or Gronkiewicz's Warsaw property heist in broad daylight. That alone should make any decent person support Law ad Justice.!
