Life / Why are Muslims seen as a deterrent to Poland? [564]

Evidently, like an Islamist, you don't like to see an opposing view.

And what is the opposing view ? That Islamic extremism has nothing to do with Islam ?

Life / Why are Muslims seen as a deterrent to Poland? [564]

I doubt anyone who lost a family member to a bombing my members of either of those tendencies would agree with you.

Well how the hell would YOU know if victims of the IRA believe the IRA and Islamic Extremism are motivated by the same thing ??? Are you on drugs Jon ?

In Manchester, this has been happening since the bomb.

Right-ok. So you are saying that EVERY church and mosque are "reaching out in friendship". I love your fast and easy way with the facts.

Fortunately only a minority of people are haters

Correction. Only a minority of idiots will physically or verbally abuse muslims for the actions of a few. There are many more people who have had enough of Islamification but their views tend to be confined to the dinner table.

Message to admin. I respect the need for you to get involved when posts veer off topic but it's getting to a point where Jon, Harry and others are at times posting intentionally provocative comments just to get a kick out of it.

I only returned to this forum to try and balance their clearly-biased views but it's impossible to address every lie they trickle feed into your forum. There will come a time when people like myself will just walk away from the forum and leave it to become a heavily biased forum influenced by a small number of members who are intent on force feeding their message to PF members.

Most terrorism in Manchester (and there has been sadly plenty over the years) was actually carried out by Catholics from Ireland.

Repeating the same lie again Jon ? I answered you and others on this topic several weeks ago and you and your friends couldn't think of a response. Repeating the claim again after several weeks is pretty pathetic.

There is no direct comparison between the IRA and Islamic extremism and I would like everyone who reads this thread to understand that. The IRA were politically motivated. Terrorism at this time was committed by people who happened to be Catholic or Protestant. Islamic extremism and the acts of terrorism they commit are done because those people follow Islam (albeit a twisted interpretation of it). Their love of Allah is their only motivation and they feel killing innocent people is Allah's will. Now show me where the IRA ever committed an atrocity in the name of Jesus Christ..........

And Manchester stands strong, with local churchgoers and mosque worshippers reaching out in friendship, and will remain every bit as diverse as ever before.

Not every church and not every mosque are "reaching out in friendship" as you so poetically put it. The media in recent years paints the same narrative whenever we suffer at the hands of Islamic extremism so it's difficult to use mainstream media as the yardstick by which you can measure people's sentiment.

People who have less palatable views on the atrocity would probably not get any airtime as the networks wouldn't want to "offend" anyone.

Other news sources are reporting a rise in verbal abuse against Muslims in the immediate wake of the bombing. Even Muslim sources are admitting this so it's not all happy families over here Jon whatever you might say.

Wow, using the deaths of 22 innocent men, women and children in an attack targeted at children to score petty points against one's internet opponents.

What on earth are you actually trying to say ??? Bieganski was saying that some muslims happily live in the UK for years yet still have a hatred towards the British way of life and he was then asking why would some people believe it would be any different in Poland. How was he using the death of the 22 victims from the Manchester bombing and why are you even trying to suggest that he was ???

The propoganda and spin coming from people like you and Jon makes me sick to the stomach at times.

Therefore, does one wrong deserve a second wrong??

It was YOU who made this point wasn't it ?

WTF kind of juvenile point are people trying to make when they bring up the Crusaders ?? That was hundreds of years ago and bears no relevance to what is happening today.

How can you deny that there is an element within the Muslim community who believe in a twisted interpretation of the Qu'ran and believe it deeply enough that they are willing to kill for their beliefs ?? The whole world and his dog accept there is a problem yet you deny it. I consider people who share the same opinion as you no better than Holocaust deniers.

Islam isn't just a religion it is an ideology which is why so many of the comparisons people try to make e.g. Crusaders, IRA, white extremists are wrong.

Life / Why are Muslims seen as a deterrent to Poland? [564]

you're arguing that any sins Christians commit against their own or especially "others" is therefore all right because sanctioned by the Bible???

Hmmm I don't think he said that. I think he was saying that yes, Christians do commit acts of barbarism and terrorism but NOT in the name of their God whereas Islamic extremists are completely motivated by the belief that their actions are in the name of Allah.

News / How will BREXIT affect the immigrants in UK and Poland. [1114]

The US doesn't count since until the 1970s immigrants were expected to assimilate in language, social practices etc.

I sometimes wonder if the US model of immigration from the 1950's to the 1970's was the model for multiculturism that many of our leaders have aspired to. As some of you rightly point out this is like comparing apples and oranges as US immigrants, by and large, integrated into the American way of life.

There's a lot of low level racism aimed at them, including a friend of mine who is always met with surprise when people discover that she's Polish and working in a pretty high powered job.@ delphiandomine

I've written letters to my local paper about this. The Poles in the UK have often found themselves as the lightning rod of prejudice, racism and nationalistic views probably because Poles are white, European and Christian so criticising them can't "really" be classed as racism........

UKIP's campaign was largely based on highlighting how many Eastern Europeans (Poles) were here in the UK and I'd even go as far as to say that Brexit came about as a result of many people's views on Poles in the UK.

News / How will BREXIT affect the immigrants in UK and Poland. [1114]

UK has so many Non-Europeans at this point it is difficult to wage one specific correlation

Sorry but I don't understand your point (haven't had my coffee yet though). The question of non-Europeans was not part of the survey so isn't is safe to assume that "EU citizens" relates to Eastern Europeans and as Poles form the largest part of the group then Poles are the ones people have in mind ?

News / How will BREXIT affect the immigrants in UK and Poland. [1114]

Sky news carried out a survey yesterday on the question of whether EU citizens currently living in the UK should have the right to remain in the country after BREXIT.

55% of respondents answered "no".

I find that rather sad and reinforces my belief that many people in the UK do not like Poles living here

News / Only 37% of Poles read a book in 2017 [13]

I know it's a cliché but I think it is mostly down to parenting.

If mother and father don't read at home it's less likely that the child will and when that child grows up and has children of their own then the pattern repeats itself.

Same can be said for church attendance (especially in the UK)

@delphiandomine

Good point Delphian although I'd be curious if the stats for Poland is much different to the rest of the world.

I actually find it very very sad that modern day culture is dumbed down to the extent that it is. I know people who have graduated from university and know nothing about the world or it's history and more tellingly, they don't care that they don't know :(

Most attractive villages in Poland

I'm trying to create a blog post about some unknown treasures of Poland and wondered if anyone can suggest any villages that may not appear in typical guide books but are well worth visiting

Travel / What on earth is happening with the Second World War museum in Gdansk ? [5]

I am due to visit Gdansk soon and was really looking forward to visiting this new museum but I've been told that it's very difficult to get tickets in advance and that some of the exhibits are now being withdrawn due to political squabbles.

Does anyone know if the museum is currently operating as normal ?

Feedback / Threads about Muslims to be automatically in Off-Topic? [20]

I wonder why Biegers and his ilk don't want to see long-term/permanent bans handed out to people who only come here to troll and abuse people

Perhaps because the definition of "troll" is subjective ?

For example, I believe that there are many instances when you, Harry, Delph and Jon troll the forums pushing your uniform message across the forum. I have even questioned whether you three are not all one and the same person as you appear to NEVER disagree with each other and ALWAYS support each other's opinion but as I say, the definition is very subjective.

Law / Inheritance law in Poland - child's right to real estate [5]

I had a lively debate with a Polish friend of mine about inheritance law in Poland.

I was telling him that here in the UK a parent can bequeath their estate to one child but not the other and unless the other child can prove his parents are not of sound mind then the parent's will would be honoured.

He told me this wouldn't work in Poland as the other child would automatically have a right to the estate unless the parents had legally disowned him.

I struggle to believe this but would welcome anyone who has more knowledge on the subject

Feedback / Threads about Muslims to be automatically in Off-Topic? [20]

All religion-related discussions are in one big the off-topic thread as referenced by Vincent (this thread will be eventually moved to Polanda).

So a thread about muslims that relates to Poland can stay as is but if it's just generally about religion then it gets moved ? Have I understood this correctly ?

And for the record. Topics sometimes veer away from the subject as a direct result of two of the members from this very thread. Example: a topic on whether Poland should accept muslim refugees is sidetracked by a debate about the IRA

Source?

I'm stating an opinion not a verifiable fact, hence my use of the words, "I believe".

Still waiting your source for the claim that Warsaw is full of muslims or did you think I had forgotten about that ?

Life / Why are Muslims seen as a deterrent to Poland? [564]

Year on year you see more people in Warsaw whose appearance suggests they have roots outside our Europe. No bad thing at all.

Thanks Jon, I was expecting you to back up Delphian. Perhaps you might be able to back Delphian's claim that Warsaw is "full of muslims" as Delphian appears to be "away from his keyboard at the moment" due to his lack of reply to my request for a factual source to his claim.

Allow me to give a pre-emptive reply to Harry before he joins in. Please provide a source that Warsaw is "full of muslims" before you try to defend and detract from Delphian's claims.

There's more fake news sometimes from certain members here than in a Donald Trump news conference :)

I have. and non of them has the attitude of " I want to come to Europe to enforce muslim law that isn't enforced in my country"

Really ? Not one of them ??

I'll concede a point that most of them may not openly admit to it if someone with a clipboard approached them on the street and asked them if they wanted Sharia law in the UK but I believe that most of them would not lose any sleep over it if it were to happen.

Therein lies the conundrum of immigration from muslim countries to the west. They genuinely desire to live in a Western country but once here they show they are more than happy to impose their culture on the host nation.

I'm not really sure where this ends for Islamification of Western Europe as taking it to it's logical conclusion we will see France, Belgium etc become majority muslim nations who will then presumably have the freedom to impose Islamic sympathetic legislation. This plays well with the muslim majority who continue to vote for muslim politicians. Eventually these countries begin to take on the character of middle eastern Islamic countries which weirdly enough is not something that "Western muslims" are keen on. So where do they move to next ?

Why should I be the one who has to establish a number ??? You are the one who claimed that Warsaw is full of muslims so lets have the facts that led you to make that claim.

You've had three attempts so far and wriggled out of every opportunity to support your claim

Just take a trip to Warszawa Centralna and see it for yourself. You'll be staggered to see just how many brown skinned people are walking around

Right. So you've gone from declaring that Warsaw is "full of muslims" to "you'll be staggered to see just how many brown skinned people are walking around".

Are you going to inject a fact here at any time or just make pronouncements as and when you see fit that are based on nothing more than your own personal perception ?

I'm surprised that you obviously equate "brown skinned people" with muslims-how do you know what religion the people you pass on the street are.

I await some facts to back up your claim that Warsaw is full of muslims.

As I've just said, Warsaw is full of Muslims. Perhaps you'd be wise to take a trip yourself before making comment.

Au contraire ma Cherie. I do not live in Warsaw so I'm not qualified to comment on your claim although "full of Muslims" does seem a little of an exaggeration.

I was pointing out your hypocrisy in dismissing someone else's opinion because they do not live in the country/place that is being discussed yet you find it very easy to do the exact same thing on matters connected to the UK and the muslim community in general.

I was going to end it there but........ in for a penny in for a pound. What % of Warsaw's population is muslim ? I am presuming you wouldn't just make a wild, outlandish claim without any factual reference.

Warsaw is full of Muslims, particularly in the centre

You've never lived amongst the muslim community but it doesn't stop you from thinking that you know better than people who live among them
