one sided information

The sly and crafty manipuators of the GW camp get ready play in the West's leftstream media whose reports are bounced back to Poland creating the impression that the whole world sides with Michnik and

KOD. GW's false start with the Vencie draft was another propagandistic attempt to influence public opinion against the Polish government. If the volume of decibels, the frequency with which lies are repeated and the size of throngs of followers on the streets were the sole criteria of righteousness, than Hitler's successors would still be in power.

Language / Polish vs Russian: Which language sounds cooler? [21]

Russian sounds

In many ways Russian sounds cock-eyed and ridiculous to native speakers of Polish. When a Russian wants to remember something he uses zapomnit' which in Polish means to forget. Russians drink coffee out of a czaszka (skull in Polish). A Russian bed krovat' sounds like a men's tie, and a karandash (pencil) reminds Poles of a calendar. Utka (duck in Rsusian) sounds like thighs in Polish -- kurze udka (chicken thighs). And kit in Polish is putty or nonsense but in Russian it means whale. In Polsih rodzina measn fmaiyl but in Russian rodina = motherland. Familia in Polish is another word for family but in Russian it means surname.

Feedback / Warning for posters who have been changing the names of famous Polish politicians, celebrities, etc. [90]

"Kosher Gazette

What is racist about it? It is simply a colourful descriptive. No-one gets offended but everyone know who is being referred to. Is scotch drinker or pasta eater racist?

I once proposed the mods create a catalogue of banned terms then we wouldn't have things like PiSed-up and PiSlamic state. But no-one saw fit to act on it. This also pertained to euphemistic spellings such as sh*t, shyte, sh1t, fcuk, friggin, fecking, f*uck and the like.

Language / Polish vs Russian: Which language sounds cooler? [21]

sounds cooler

Dunno about cooler or warmer (never use such terms), but Polish is more pleasant sounding and far more sophisticated. To many Poles Russian sounds primitive and peasanty as in "ja paszoł, on paszoł". In some Polish peasant dialects uneducated people also forget the endings and likewise say "ja poszedł, on poszedł, "my byli, wy byli, oni byli" instead of using the proper endings: "ja poszedłem, on poszedł, byliśmy, byliście, byli". In English it would be roughly comparable to "me go, he go".

Not to mention some vulgar-sounding word choice: Ona otkryła guby (reminds Poles of gęba) i skazała: u menia nasmork (the Russian way of saying "I've got a cold" but to Poles it sounds like she's full of snot).

ex-PZPR member

But you only single out some ex-PZPR members as baddies. What about Balcerowicz who detsroyed Poland's industrial assets, Kuioń who destroyed the Polish Scouting Movement, Tusk's Justice Min. Ćwiąkalski and Educaiton Min. Kudrycka and on could go on and on. If they served their PO masters they are OK, but....

One-sided Delphic objectivity!
You've heard what people call KOD -- Komitet Obrony Koryta, and maybe the saying: Dawniej był ochotnikiem ORMO teraz głosuje za platformą. A new one going round is: Dawniej miałem ksywę TW, teraz jestem redkatorem GW.

Trybuna Ludu

We all know you prefer the Trybuna Koszerna, Michnik's hate-spewing rag.

heroes of Solidarność

President advier Prof. Zybertowicz suggests after viewing the last KOD march that all that may be another part of Russia's hybrid warfare. "Marching in support of a paid informer who destroyed people's lives," according to him, could only serve Moscow. It's a known fact that Poland and other countries are peppered with the Kremlin's agents of influence, including poltical parties, KOD ranks, the Sejm, state administration, treasury companies and possibly even the Church. The constant attacks on the government by the street cabaret's never-ending hate speech, the simmering, further polarisation of society and destabilisation of the poltical scene can only scare away potential investors and does not serve Poland as a whole. Then whom does it serve? It's something to think about.

The typical trough-defender's' reply is that it will end only when the governemnt.....
If it isn't one thing, they'll think up something else.
It calls to mind aother ultimatum: If only Poland allowed an extraterritorial rail-line and motorway across the Polish Corrdor..... Toujours la même chose!

You meant to say "to brainwash others". Only the very naive could believe
all that one-sided KOD codswallop. But, as they say: Głupich nie sieją sami się rodzą!

transfer from the PRL to the RP was messy

Yes it was, and the way it played out after the dust had settled was that an ex-red/pinko salon emerged (now it's called KOD or the Michnik camp), called the shots, lived off the fat of the land and left the bulk of the nation in hardship and poverty. And PZPR bigshots got pensions many times greater than the average Poles they had victimised. Is that PO or KOD style justice in your book?

orrent of abuse

Ever KOD march is a hate parade spewing a torrent of abuse against the democratcially elected government. That old crooked-nosed b*tch Krzywonos led the hate session in Gdańsk and called Kaczyński a "kurdupel". She had good reason to spew such bile. Tusk had given her a special old-age pension of 6000 zł in recognition of her PiS-bashing. That's not the normal income of a retired tram driver. Ręka rękę myje!

Violent uprising

Had Wałęsa not pulled his 1992 stunt, there would have been no bloody uprising. Once Soviet troops had left Poland, the government was under no obligation to honour the RT agreements. It's like police bargaining with a kidnapper, psychopathic criminal, terrrorist or blackmailer. They'll promise anything just to save lives and/or capture the culprit. Pledges made to a criminal regime of Soviet lackeys and Katyń deniers with oceans of blood on their hands would not have to be kept. By then a true verification of police and army brass would have been carried out and only reliable and trusted anti-communists loyal to Wałęsa would be on duty. A repeat of Yanaev's revolt would not have taken place in Poland. Also the "Salon" would have been only a shadow of its present self and there probably would not have been a SLD government and presidency.

have no interest in freedom

The RT mafia aka KOD salon have no interest whatsoever in freedom or demcoracy only in their own power and privilege which they have enjoyed undeservedly for a quarter of a century. Wałęsa was the bitter enemy of the usurping KOR-ites who wanted their crony Mazowiecki to be president. Wałęsa had served his purpose and could nw return to Gdańsk like a nice little boy. But Wałęsa faced up to the KOR-ites, won the election (thanks mainly to the Tymiński debacle) and, were it not for his 1992 folly, would have remained their bittter enemy. What could a two-fisted, ideolgically conservative, Catholic trade unionist have in common with a bunch of agnsotic KOR eggheads? But when the threat of his dossier being exposed emerged, he suddenly had a common cause with the ex-PZPR/SB/TW types leftist intellectuals -- to protect his bottom. Governments have come and gone but that same salon has effectively run the show ever since.

horrible tragedy

The horrible tragedy was that communism did not collapse and political criminals were not held to account. Communism cleverly reinvented itself via the Kiszczak-engineered RT conspiracy. The regime's ruse enjoyed the support of soft-on-communism leftists (KOR & Co.) and opportunistic Solidarity fellow travellers (Bujak, Fraysyniuk, Celiński et al) which guaranteed the regime's people impunity and the collaborators a share of the spoils. The true Solidarity patriots -- Gwiazda, Walenytnowicz, Morawiecki, Waszkowski, Jaworski et al -- were sidelined, reviled or ignored despite their contribution to the "S" revolution.

Crazy, isn't it

Too bad PO's 500 also for the first child wasn't accepted, right? Knowing you, you'd be the first on PF to come up with some clever excuse to defend that move. PO always good, PiS always bad. How innovative of you!?

like exactly what PiS has done

But not for 25 years! It has become plainly clear that the RT was Kiszczak's triumph -- he organised, masterminded and stage-directed it with the aid of the Michniks, Geremeks, Mazowieckis and other KOR-ites, with Wałęsa humbled by all the professsorial titles going along. The RT conspiracy gave the criminal PZPR impunity and instead punished the Polish nation as a whole. Only its Salon wing in the pay of foreign itnerest groups has prospered. Seeing the writing on the wall, the KOD types have panicked and think their noisy last-resort rumpus can save their undeserved perks and advantages. The only advice for those poor misguided fools is: DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH!

In my worst dreams did not expect

In many people's worst dreams no-one expected the regime's chief oppressors to have fatter old-age pensions than the victims they oppressed. Nor that the red-pinko roundtable mafia known as the "salon" would be calling the shots for 26 years and create a III RP working only in favour of their privileged caste to the detriment of the Polish nation as a whole.

single child families get nothing

What did single-child, double-child, treble-child and larger families get from PO? One-off becikowe?! The 500 plan is the first such plan in post-PRL Poland so it is at least trying to catch up to other European countries.

News / Why has the US dollar reached almost 3.99 zł in Poland? [56]

Hungary

Poland has been victimised unwittingly by underinformed Westerners. Also in the past when one of the CE currencies was hurting, such investors figured that must also affect Poland at times when the złoty was rather stable. But supposedly other factors exist: US econ results, Chinese stock exchange, oil prices, formerly Grexit, euro problems...

Assuming that Brexit actually takes place, how would that affect the $, € and zł?

beautiful picture

Is that a picture of Comrade "Endless"? The masses shown only prove one thing: Głupich nie sieją, sami się rodzą. Every band of scoundrels, be they Nazis, commies or the PZPR/SB/Michnikite/foreign interest group lobby known as KOD know how to concoct nice-sounding slogans to get loads of deluded useful idiots behind them. But all the commotion will not change things one iota!

USA, Canada / Poles in Buffalo, NY [16]

Not many Poles

Not if you define a Pole as someone from Poland, but Buffalo and vicinity is teeming with PolAms, Ampols, Polonian or Americans of Polish ancestry, descent or heritage.

I hope you do not share the skewed notion of one particularly obnoxious poster (temporarily on extended leave from PF) that a scrap of paper, not cultural awareness, heritage or DNA, determines a person's nationality.

Please focus on the thread and not on other posters.

voters

US voters may well elect Trump. Hitler came to power democratically. Voters tend to vote for the one who runs the most effective campaign, gives the most convincing speeches and projects the most attractive image. Does that autoamticaklly make such a candidate capable, honest or decent?

Poland a vassal?

Poland is a vassal of foreign economic interest groups supported by their
KOR/PO/SLD/PETRU/KOD lackeys whose prosperity has been based on collaboration wtih those outside forces. And they aim to keep it that way.

Dignity and self-esteem may be abstract imponderables to the peasant-minded and short-sighted (if you can't eat, drink, wear, drive of f*ck it, it ain't no damn good). But to educated thinking people livng in a country that produces nothing, means nothing, exports apples and migrants and remains a total unknown world-wide is hardly a welcome, future-looking prospect.

It worked, didn't it?

At what cost? The loss of Poland's industrial base, the country's vassalisation, loss of national self-esteem and dignity and creation of the KOR/PO/SLD/KOD clique serving foreign interests which has helped reduce Poland to neo-coloniał status.

vaccine

Medical experts are themselves divided. Vaccines are based on the last flu wave and in the meantime they often mutate so the last season's vaccine will not work. Some claim those pushing vaccines are in cahoots with big pharmaceutical concerns. The point is that today most everything has a seocnd (or third, fourth, fifth, etc.) level and it's not always immediately apparent who is pulling the strings. More often than not in today's hyper-commercialised world the bottom line is: €€€, zł zł zł, $ $ $.

Thanks to the miracle of Gatesian e-gadgetry (a field in which you are by far my superior!) you know more about him than I ever did. Did it say how he died. Is his "orientation" mentioned? Back then that made people blackmailable. Didn't have the patience to wade through it all.
