News / 10,000 ISRAELIS READY TO CLAIM FOR POLISH CITIZENSHIP AND POLISH LAND! [628]

I think you are more mad at me cos of the statment

This did not make me mad, more sad. When I first came to this forum I asked if the Polish people look for us like we look for them? There is more to life than money. We learned that well.

Now to hear you imply that our own people are more concerned about us coming back to get our property. I pray you say this due to your dislike of history vs. whats in your heart.

I could be your realitive in USA, Carol

with the advantege that they never left....

I must say I am glad my family did. All of my family can read, write and stand up for our rights. We had buried enough of our family. Communism was not going to take any more. I can't even begin to understand what it does to a human being to be treated the way they were. I never had to watch my children die. Babies, wifes, husbands and in the end have it be for nothing. Poland was no place for what was left.

who worked there and rebiuld Poland now to let people who had comfortable life in USA

You are wrong. My grandfather fought in WW1 and WW11. He fought for you. How can you not see that the very soldiers that were born on Polish soil and put their lives on the line were not given this choice.

Are you unaware that the ones you say don't have this right were yesterdays hero's, given the land for "front line under Juzef Pilsudski, The Miracle at Wisla"?

His home was given to him by the State of Poland, for what he did to make Poland free. In the end you are saying you rebuilt Poland. Easy life in the USA, please think of what they did to achive this. They lost Poland to communists, got on a boat heading to a country that did not speak Polish, had to start from scratch. They were not given "comfortable life" in USA. At 51 years old after fighting his whole life for Poland now he had nothing but what was left after two war wounds. With this he worked his butt off for his family.

In 1989, he finally accepted military crosses from Poland. He was 89 years old and until HIS homeland was free he still was fighting for you. Along with every other survior that "fought for you".

So I am sorry, my family did not get on this luxury liner and head to a country that gave him anything. He worked for everything he had. Just as he had in his homeland that he spent a lifetime loving.

There is a group of Germans that want their property. :/

Property or compensation? Due to new families living there I believe talks are about monitary settlements. I also feel this should not come from Poland but the USA, Russia, England, Ukraine and France. This could cover all claims.

expecting some old German with a long beard to show up claiming my farm

Truthfully, they have spoken of financial settlement with goverment.

Yet this is the same for my family, I believe it was 10% of todays value. Who knows, maybe even a plaque with past ownership for my bloodline would satisfy our families. Its the way we are not even considered or thought of. Why don't they teach the children about the Kresy families that were there on Feb. 9, 1940 and then on the 10th? "Our Forgotten Polish" is an understatement.

I have asked the Pres. of Poland to do on something Feb. 10th. I don't care how simple, just something to show Poland and the world our families are missed.

singled out by the Germans...to be annihilated..............

No, Hitlers plan was for "all Poles". They started with Jewish. Carol

The Plan, drawing on the material collected in the preliminary stages, concluded that 31 million people would have been deported in the course of 25 years. However, in his 1942 memorandum, Dr. Wetzel revised this figure (taking into account certain territorial changes, natural increases, etc.) and arrived at a total of 51 million.

Poland was invaded by Germans

No, also by Soviets. "Katyn" and what I shall refer to as "Our Forgotten Polish" as we are yet to be named. With the families I write of they must provide proof that they resided there Jan. 1939. Proof of being deported to Siberia from homes in Kresy are found on red cross lisys that they made in Teharan. Anyone needing the claim forms contact me by e-mail and I will send you the link.

building maintenance and care.

What about rent on the properties or the fact that most were burned to the ground. We also had cows, horses, crops and many other structures. If you want to get into specifics, church's also have value. Carol , USA

The Polish goverment is made up of Jews as well,

Why is it always abot the "Jewish", my family are "Roman Catholic". First the Jewish left us out of the holocaust, now they forget we also lost our homes. Why is it we don't see Roman/Greek Catholic's Poles, "living is country's they were deported to" are ready to claim Polish Citizenship and Polish Land. Well they still hold dual citizenship if born there and their children can get citizenship from that parent. Now the land on the other hand.

Lets see my group just includes Poland front line WW1 soliders. Most like my grandfather also fought WW2 after amnesty. He was born in Rzym, Poland in 1900. Why do we not hear of non Jews that were forgotten? Are they getting their homes back? No, they may get a percentage of the lands worth.

We have until 12/2008 to place a claim. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against people of the Jewish faith. It is just time they stopped thinking they are the only ones that suffered. Jewish family's have a name,"Holocaust" for what happened. To bad they couldn't include"Our Forgotten Polish" , that I pray will be named. We fought for a free Poland and where are we today?

Work / Education in Poland - system and structure [118]

Now this is sad. I am working in USA. Please study this time period and demand your children are taught. Make up posters and ask your teachers to show the children. See, "A Forgotten Odyssey" demand respect for the Polish families. Russia can pretend it never happened.

Poland must remember their forefathers that died or were sent to other countries. I was just wondering what the children are told about the Kresy "Osadnik" families? Or do they even know we are gone?

taught in Polish schools according to my wife's 16 yr old sister, but it really depends on the teacher.

I pray someday all the children in the nation will know and learn from example what should never happen. In the US due to "no prayer in school" history is not the truth. We sould not be able to ignor what happened and this in part I am sure is due to shame on US for not helping Poland. Ignorance I fear is nation wide. Has Ukraine SS taken responsabily for killing of Polish families? This is such a touchy subject. Has Russia showed remorse and taken responsabilty? I understand that "Stalin" is not in power and do not hold the present administration responsable. Yet they are responsable for admitting and restitution should be made to Poland. Ukraine SS that we know brutily killed families should not be sitting in another country, but should be tried for war crimes. I may not be very popular for what I say but it is the truth.

If we continue to live with things the way they are nothing changes. Polish cannot truly trust a country that refuses to tell the truth and then our children will learn from history, Poland and Russia can start a new relationship and build trust. Others will not think they can wipe out entire families and get away with it.

When we look at this it is truly amazing that denial is still an issue. Lets face it, "Stalin" spread his victims throughout the world. Never thinking of computers and the tower of babble brought down with interpators and more important "A Free Poland" , the reason I type from the USA and not my fathers homeland, that is why my grandfather fought.

Work / Education in Poland - system and structure [118]

I keep hearing the wrong information about what took place (eastern Poland) and what role the Polish military played and did for the country. It is the younger generation that seem to be misinformed. It is as if "Stalin" feed the false information and no one has educated them as to what their family really went through.

I was talking to one 16 year old in Poland and she thought the Jewish were the only ones that were hurt. If you look at my post trying to put a name on 1939-45 deportation by Stalin to Siberia, just the fact that this many family's were destroyed and "not even a name". Google what to do a project on this group? Lets see , "Kresy", "Galicia ethnic cleansing" , maybe if I try immigration.

Not even a NAME. This many people abused the way they were. I have sent a letter to the Polish President last week asking that Feb. 10, 1940 can be added to Polands days to take a few moments of silence, ring church bells, light candles or simply mention us. Jewish Holocaust did not include us or this would not be an issue. Roman Catholic and Greek Catholic are not to be forgotten. Thankfully "Katyn" now has a name for google, now I will not stop until we do.

Carol USA

What name should we use for 1939-45 deportation of Polish to Siberia? to read educational needs and thought on naming. "Forgotten Polish". ???/ "Sybiracy"Please add your thoughts on naming and read some of the ones voted on.

This is not just Jewish claims, here is an artical about Germans making claims 2006. I also know of claims for Polish that were taken from eastern Poland (now Ukraine) and a deadline of 12/2008. I felt this artical shines light on more than Jewish claims and who should be responsable. My personal take is that the USA, Great Britian and USSR were the ones to make the call as to who gets what, maybe they should pay the tab? Carol

Poland is probably the only country in which large fractions of the national elites permit unreasonable demands from abroad to be made against the nation, and question the necessity of structuring one's responses to the world in terms of national interest.

Genealogy / Are Polish birth records available on the Internet? [56]

I found Polish marriage up to 1899 on line. If your family was sent to Siberia !939-45 there is a memorial wall you can put there name on. Also Katyn has a wall. Red cross has a list of the people from Siberia that survived past amnesy. On Yahoo groups there is Kresy-Siberia and many others go to yahoo and type in Poland. For family in eastern Poland 1939-45 I would be lost without their endless supply of links. Poland has archive, Russia and many many more. I just wrote to Russia for my families arrest records. Hoover Inst. has files also.

I added the link for 1899 marriages to resources for anyone wanting to check this out.

History / Kosciuszko Squadron - why don't they bring it back? [45]

Another great video is, "A forgotten Odyssey" by Jagna Wright or "The other story" . Jagna passed away this year and she will be missed. I thank you for the link.

Anders Army tells of the strength of the Polish fighter. Half starved men given amnesty from Russia, some just barley alive in 1942 set up a fighting team like no other on Russia soil. With no weapons they had to use self made wooden guns to practice drills. They went on to fight and win many battles. What we must remember is how many Polish fighters were killed (unarmed and tricked) in "Katyn" and eastern Poland, (unarmed reserve front line) farmers 1940. Then once more 1943 in eastern Poland, SS,Ukraine , savagely

killing unarmed farmers.

Roman Catholic Pole here. Lets see my grandfather was on the front line in ww1, started fighting for a free Poland at 15 years of age. In 1940 sent to Siberia, then joined Polish army from there British. This was one of Polands hero's that you loved. In 1951 Poland betrayed and was given to communist (lets not forget what the fight was for) his land and home given to Russia. He had nothing, his wife was gone as were 3 of his children. I am sorry but this is not just Jewish. War heros forgotten in the blink of an eye. Get the video, "A Forgotten Odyssey", or "The Other Story" and then watch "Katyn". No we do not want OUR property the settlement is 20% of the property value. Do you understand that Poland was our homeland, it would be nice if Poland wanted us back. Maybe someday I will walk the street of Poland and understand my grandfathers love of his homeland.

Quick note: Polish did not loose citizenship when deported they hold duel citizenship if born in Poland and deported. Children of deported (1st gen born in new country) can have citizenship from parent born on Polish soil.

USA, Canada / What do Polish people think of the USA [287]

Everybody loves us because we r u. Doesn't matter where your from or who your God is we have your people living here as one big fun loving group. And the great part is even I can put down the presidents actions. In the end we are all the same. I strongly admire the Polish (yes me too) with the strong work and family values. Being Polish/American I have a strong sence of missing my fathers birth country.

Genealogy / 1939 Krakow - what happened to the residents? [21]

My family Polish/Roman Catholic's were in easter Poland (now Ukraine) in Jan. 1940 they were placed in a box car that would leave when filled by the Russians on Feb 10,1940 the train's filled and they were deported. Destination was concentration camps in Siberia. In 1942 for the ones that survived this hell, amnesty was granted. My grandfather joined Polish home army, he was one of the men that took an active part in organizing the Polish army on Russian soil. They joined up with a main mobilizing center in Buzuluk. This unit was Anders Army. For family that had survived they followed a route out to Iran and across to So. Africa. Iran had a school is Isfahan and Africa had many camps, B'Wana, Masindi and others.

Tesse,

My Grandfather was in Anders Army in 1942 when the people were granted amnesty. Why we were in Siberia is a book within itself. If you have not joined Kresy-Siberia@ Yahoo groups do so. We have maps, history, lists and a great support.
