Life / Czas honoru (Time of honoru) TV serial [38]

Anybody watch 'Czas honoru'

I watch it on occasion. I lost interest when the episodes began getting a bit "soapy".
I haven't watched in a bit. Maybe I'll tune in.

Food / Jacket potatoes - do Polish people like them? [22]

OMG Boletus!! You just hit an old memory button of mine! My dziadzek used to bake them in our garden when burning your field was allowed. The sight, smell and feel of the crisp autumn air and the TASTE of the ziemniaczki in their charred skins - as is- was an experience!

Thanks for that :)

btw the skin's where all the vitamins reside

Food / What made in Poland produce would you recommend [110]

Krakus ham from Animex company

A good ham for sure but it's quality has lapsed, I'm afraid, since the PRL-days (at least the ham sold here in New Jerssey).

Life / General questions for those who have chosen to make Poland their home [32]

I was on my way to another country (Japan) and got offered a job in Poland.

I loved your post SeanBM

Staring is the national passtime if people hear your accent or you speaking English, they will stop what they are doing and have a full on stare at you, as if you had 12 heads

..............LOL You described that perfectly! It was the same in my day :) (you get used to it quickly)

People here also smile with their eyes, rather than their mouths, they can yell at you (sounding angry) but if you understand what they are saying they are actually trying to help.

.............Yes! Well said.

News / Children licking cream off a Polish priest's legs "inappropriate" says NGO [116]

how is this syndrome called in psychology about transfering you own problems onto other people?

it's called transference..you were very close.

I just want to know how the priests explain this. What is the symbolism for the cream? the knee? the walking stick the priest is holding?

This I want to know.

Life / Polish vs British vs American - Clash of cultures [390]

That is why fatal cases of mushroom poisoning amount to only about 10 annually.

Train them young; train them well = low # of poisonings..........Great Job!

The view that makes most Poles` heart pound with exhiliration - a basket full of noble mushrooms from Boletus family.

Right!
My dad used to take me mushroom picking all the time when I was a boy. (those are beautiful shrooms btw)
