Yes, Polish legal language is a mess, the country should look at the plain language laws of Scandinavia which aim to make laws clear and unambiguous and easily understandable without the encrustations and complications that Polish academic language is so addicted to.

Do you really think one can compare the internal voting procedures of a politcal party with those of international bodies?

Why not?
The plain fact is he's the unopposed (unopposable) leader of the ruling party who was hidden away during the campaign like a shameful secret because they wouldn't have won with him in front and they knew it. That makes the banana republic voting procedures within PiS a matter of some importance - since they're determined to create the Polska Rzeczpospolita Bananowa.

that is true for the more educated, there's no really viable opposition, Schetyna is a glorified backbencher who might be able to cut the mustard as a jr minister, but prime minister? dziękuję

For all his (many) faults Tusk was very good at keeping the party in line and had a vision (though very hazy and incremental).
The bigger problem is that no Polish (or European) party seems to be able to put together a platform that has social and migration policies that the majority agree with.

The difference is that Ukraines care and Russians.... don't. Russians tend to show a clear pattern of not caring when their government kills people (don't matter who).

It's never positive and is based on hatred, insecurity and exclusion.

That sounds like a jr high school student. Some degree of moderate nationalism is good while not enough nationalism and you get Cologne on New Years Eve and Rotherham (or Somalia or Cambodia or the Islamic State).

Was he himself that bad? All I know is wikipedia which suggests that he himself was not connected to massacres (being interred in a German camp at the time) and didn't necessarily agree with Lebed (who was involved in the massacres).

If that were the case she'd already be functional enough after 4 months (Belarussian is like 60% Polish with a strong Russian accent). But checking another thread the OP is actually Turkish (was studying in Belarus and maybe doesn't want to go back to Erdoganistan...)

Not technically true, some companies advertise in English just to keep the application numbers down (but Polish is also needed on the job).

I'd say it was extremely disturbing that people aged 18-24 support a man who believes that child pornography should be legalised

First, he also doesn't think females should be allowed to vote so pipe down, woman.

Second, AFAICT his support is largely based on the up yours! factor - giving the finger (or both) to a political establishment they feel alienated from.

the strongest party amongst the 18-24 old voters is K15

Lots of experience with that demographic and they're apathetic and disengaged about 90 % of the time about politics. They're also easy to con with protest candidates that are ineffectual in actually getting anything done (what are Kukiz's great achievements again? Oh yes, that's right, none!) Korwin-Mikke is also a protest candidate that cannot actually get anything done.

I've yet to meet one who can stand JK (I know some exist but not in the demographic I deal with - and peer pressure would stop some from admitting it if they did) or Macierewicz or who can tolerate the Smolensk martyr cult.

They're also a lot less openly xenophobic than the current government but against Poland accepting refugees (practicality and cultural compatability issues).

Do you live in Israel? If not, then where? Chances are the relevant agencies are used to giving out the relevant forms, just finding out which agency to ask is the problem.

Why does the building allow rooftop antennas? Honestly, that sounds like the 1970s.... The only really effective way of dealing with this is getting rid of the motivation for tromping around on the roof (which also sounds very dangerous, does the spółdzielnia really want to be legally liable if some idiot neighbor of yours falls?

Either
a) PiS are the greastest economic geniuses in human history (who'd of thunk it?)
b) their campaign was a load of horse hockey and they're mostly reaping the benefits of 8 years of PO rule...

Nationalism, whether Polish, Ukrainian, British, Chinese etc is often the diametric opposite of patriotism

There is no patriotism without some form of nationalism (though not all forms of nationalism include patriotism)

how did you get a work permit? It takes about two seconds to google Schengen and realize that there are no border controls between Poland and Norway.

Of course you can be stopped anywhere at any time in Schengen and if you story's too suspicious you could have problems....
