Love / Birth Certificate Questions (Polish rules require the mother to put down a Polish name?) [27]

in other words you left when she was pregnant and she went through the birth etc alone?
I don't know about Poland but in the UK an unmarried father only gets his name on the birth cert if he goes with the mother to register the birth- eg steps up to his responsibilities.

which you patently have not done.
if you want to play happy families go and buy a little dog or something.

UK, Ireland / Pakis VS Poles in the UK [62]

They like to blame others because they are too lazy to get an education or work hard

that is just a pernicious New Labour myth used to justify unbridled immigration

UK, Ireland / Learning Polish - Polish shops in England? [34]

that's ridiculous "Wlodzimeirz" - I think you might be even older than the British man in the sketch!
also - why do you assume the speaker/learner will be male?...::)

UK, Ireland / wife wants to have baby in poland not ireland [52]

if she is in her third trimester, she will probably not be able to fly anyway...so problem solved unless she wants you to drive her over.

UK, Ireland / wife wants to have baby in poland not ireland [52]

i think RN is right, she might be wrong, misguided whatever, but the less stress she has the better for her and the baby.
I was just saying the other day that coming back to London from Poland when i was pregnant was the best thing i ever did after some of

the horror stories from poland i have heard - tbh i doubt my twins would have survived.
my ex sister in law had a (male) doctor that 'didnt believe' in painkillers for women in childbirth for example.
but hey ho if she really thinks she will be better off there, she is probably right.

Life / Why is cheating at schools in Poland accepted?! [155]

anyway cheating is culture in Poland, when I was teaching English to a matura class they showed me all kinds of stuff that was quite new to me as a normal non-cheating British person,

including writing info on the skin of the leg, writing info in tiny letters and inserting into a biro - actually it made me laugh - if they had put as much effort into studying as they did

into cheating, they could have passed easily.
this was just before the techno age - goodness knows what they get up to these days with mobiles etc!!

Love / I Love a Polish Girl (I'm from India) [28]

Epicurean delights like the deep fried Mars bar and whose national dish is a gruesome stodge of ground-up animal organs stuffed in its own stomach.

PMSL - so the Polish make the same stuff into soup! what is the difference?
Delph why so anti -American? what problem is it you have with our cousins from across the pond?

Study / MBA in Poland for 40+ and older? [62]

University programs, not to mention the lower level schools represent much higher level of education than universities in the U.S. or Western Europe

is that why so many Polish are anxious to attend UK universities?

UK, Ireland / Advice on child support (Irish with my Polish husband) [106]

I know someone who earns a decent yearly wage by working like crazy in bars during the skiing season, grape picking in summer in France and a few other things.

a great life for a single person in their 20s or 30s, not with a family

"A lot of the problems can also be laid on the Labour government who made it quite uneconomic to work in certain certain circumstances but people still try to work."

well said Kaz, but i would say ALL of the problems were down to those wily Scots in the last "labour" gov't.
