The moral component was more important.Greece was the first country to defeat an axis force.We kicked italian butts in Albania big time in 1940 and italian army never recovered from the humiliation.When Germans attacked in 1941 to save their allies Italians our troops were concentrated in albanian front and we had very few divisions in yugoslav border from where Germans invaded.(Yugoslavia was considered an allly so we had not troops in this direction).

It would be interesting to see what would happen if the bulk of our army had fought against Germans since in Thrace we managed to stop them in heavily fortified positions in the greek-bulgarian border.

There is one theory that the war started with Munich agreement and german invasion to Chechoslovakia.By another theory it started when Japan invaded China and SU in 1938.

In Greece the librration by Germans is not much celebrated since at the same day a bloodbath took place when crowds celebrating got machine guned by the police and civil war started.(and lasted till 1949).

So, am I correct that the 4th of June is being celebrated as the Liberation-event in Poland?

No,it's the June 24,the Moscow Victory parade.(just kidding).

(MG you have to realize that from a polish view Poland lost the war,so it celebrates it as much as Germany).

I find that Poles are usually involved in deep thinking and try not to annoy you.Certainly an intellectual nation.

I as Balkan feel great in Poland.Poles are quiet like us.In slavic countries you feel a phantastic sense of freedom apart from the mysterious attractive architecture.

From an economic point of view all immigrants are the same.From a political point of view they are not the same.For example here an albo is not a paki nor do they identify themselves as the same.And of course Russians are completely different case.
