Ms. Szczypinska, who gave up her seat on the ill-fated flight just hours before it took off, said she had been informed by Polish journalists at the crash site that Russian authorities had demanded that witnesses who had been waiting to greet the dignitaries hand over their cameras, cell phones and memory cards.

that might actually be pretty wise in the plane crash investigation.

Military airport or not, they were given clearance to land there and thus Polish authorities have a direct interest in their landing.

They were told to divert. The only other thing the tower could have done was close the airport, and there are two theories why they didn't: one was they did not meet the criteria, like there was no obstructions on the runway, and two, it would be greatly misrepresented by Poles, with the political history, and they let Tusk land, and not the President.

I disagree.
I am friends will all of my ex's. After the romantic relationship is over, I simply don't stop caring about a person, especially one that had a piece of my heart. They become more like a family member, sometimes very much like a child to me. I care, I'll listen, maybe even help, but any sexual relationship is completely out of the question.

The pilot was there 3 days earlier scoping out the terrain, then on the day of the crash he circled around enough times to get his bearings, he already knew if he diverted he'll probably get a medal... I think he just went for it. All I still want to know is why he was not aware of true altitude.

some will not be happy until the finger is pointed squarely at some russians.

Ultimately, whether to land or not is pilot's decision, not towers. In retrospect, he made a wrong one. But, if he was couple of meters higher, probably only his flyboy buddies would ever hear about this one.

Long red line above on the picture shows a correct direction for landing approach and a short red line below is an actual landing direction - i.e. into debris instead of a runway.

The short red line shows how he veered of the course after initial clipping, little ways before the highway.
