No, little less chemicals for the sake of nice lawn color seeping into the water supply would be a nice start...
The only reason I'm still going on with this is because the homeowners associations are one of the major culprits in keeping up this stupid (and harmful) idea of what the home and lawn should look like, keeping them alive with fear of decreasing property values.
I have a degree in engineering and I still find the time to invastigate what native plants should and will grow in my area, how to create a healthy ecosystem that does not use unnecessary resources or harms the environment.
That is virtually impossible in most of current gated communities. They have to cater to the lowest denominator, who believe nice green lawn, at all cost, is a status symbol.
