Polonia / What similarities would you say there are between Poles and Mexicans? [132]

Poland is the Mexico of Europe lol

I hope so as far as their birthrates.

Poland could be like Mexico if the Polish birthrate increased all over Europe a little more, which is a good thing.

No matter what people think of Mexicans/Mexico, the Mexicans are becoming a powerful political force in North America/America because of their biologic strength, ie growing population.

The birth rate in Poland has stayed the same (grown in some areas of Poland), but at least the Polish birth rate in Britain and other countries has picked up.

News / Poland hosts lowest proportion of foreigners in the EU [115]

Some diversity for Poland??

The last time there was a lot of diversity in Poland, Poland was destroyed by the powers tyring to diversify it.

German chancellor Merkel says multi-culturalism and diversity doesn't work in Europe.

She is correct.

Life / The Blame Game (Have you ever noticed that a Polish person is never wrong!?) [205]

MW, you are like a broken record with your deflection tactics. We are talking about Poland, yes, Poland here. It's much more widespread here.

If your saying it in the spirit of constructive criticism that's one thing, but for somebody like Delphiadomine, who gets an adrenaline rush in criticizing the flaws of Poland, he's pointing it out just to bash Poland.

Remember Delphiadomine said that Polish people are subhumans (yes he used that word). Its just disturbing seeing some people like yourself agreeing with somebody who said Polish people are subhumans. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Also if its this bad in Poland, why do you live there? Why not go back to Scotland? Wouldn't you be happier there?

For the life of me, I never will understand why people who have a ton of criticisms for nation A CHOOSE to LIVE in nation A.

Its like people coming to the US to live here, only to complain about how they can't stand the US. Why don't they go back to where they came from?

I just don't get it.

Life / The Blame Game (Have you ever noticed that a Polish person is never wrong!?) [205]

MW, it is glaringly obvious to those who have had dealings with administrative offices or workplaces here that they don't accept blame. It's sth that can be readily observed. Why do you think people are attacking Poland here, rather than observing?

LOL

So you and others think Poland/Poles have a monopoly on that kind of thing?

You think that doesn't happen here in the US, or UK, Scotland, Australia or most other Western countries?

And forget about even talking about third world countries.

Life / The Blame Game (Have you ever noticed that a Polish person is never wrong!?) [205]

Its ridiculous to say that Polish Americans, Poles or any Polish diaspora would say "Poland is perfect". That's just another loaded anti-remark against Poles. SHOW ME where Polish Americans said "Poland is perfect"????. You just made that up.

God knows Poland isn't and I myself have said countless times that there is bad and good in Poland just like in any nation.

As for you saying that you think its a "national characteristic" that Poles don't want to take responsibility for anything, I find that to be a stretch......however I will let other Poles from Poland decide on that since I don't live in Poland.

But for arguments sake, lets say most Polish people don't like being blamed for anything or taking responsibility for anything (hard for me to believe since one Polish president after another is groveling on his knees begging for forgiveness from a certain ethnic group for perceived Polish injustices) maybe Poles in general have the "just fcuk it attitude" because whenever they were humble or self critical it was taken for granted. Poles were kind enough to let in all types of foreigners around 1790 only to see their country get ripped apart by them. Yeah no good deed goes unpunished.

Just look at this forum.

Every other topic on this forum is criticizing the hell out of Polish people and Poles are expected by non-Poles to ACCEPT all of it when these critics themselves wouldn't want to be subjected to such criticism.

Every other topic on this forum is

Why are Poles bad?

Why can't Poles take criticism?

Why do Poles hate this group?

Why do Poles hate that group?

Why are Poles so horrible?

Why do Poles beat their wives?

Why are Poles ugly?

Why do Poles smell?

Why are Poles dumb?

Why are Poles this?

Why are Poles that?

Why can't Poles do this?

Why can't Poles do that?

Its just attack after attack after attack on Polish people.

Just about every negative adjective or insinuation is used against Poles, even if the topic names themselves don't include the above negative descriptions I used.

Just about every other topic on this forum knocks the hell out of Polish people with one criticism after another and then you wonder why Poles "can't take criticism"?

What for?

You have one anti-Polish troll who is of Russian ancestry who takes tremendous delight attacking Polish people all the time, yet GOD FORBID you give him a taste of his own medicine/criticism of his Russians.

Frankly, I notice that many of the people of non-Polish ancestry on this forum (many non-Polish people pretend to be Poles here) accusing Polish people of not taking blame have a difficult time accepting blame for anything they say, do or think.

Life / The Blame Game (Have you ever noticed that a Polish person is never wrong!?) [205]

Have you ever noticed that a Polish person is never wrong!

No I haven't noticed that a Polish person is never wrong. Some of the most humble self critical people I know are Polish.

Avalon

Its stupid and ridiculous for you to make these broad generalizations about the Polish people or any group of people.

Whenever a person says "Polish people are (fill in the blank)" or "Jewish people are (fill in the blank)" or "Black people are (fill in the blank)" , etc it just points out the ignorance of the person making the comment. If you said there are SOME Poles like this, then that would be a fair comment since we all know there are all types of people in every group of people.

This is another one of these defamatory loaded anti-Polish topics along the lines of "Why do Polish people beat there wives so much?" type topics, meant to knock Polish people.

I call them The Never Wrongs. It's a waste of time contesting things with them as they are always in the right in their eyes. I could give many examples but I'm too tired now.

Seanus how long do you think it would take you to become a "Never Wrong Scot" if people were to point out all the perceived negative things of people of Scottish ancestry? I get the feeling, not too long.

Life / Polack: A Small Minded Movie. [17]

Q: How many Poles does it take to wipe out Polish jokes forever?

A: More than they've got.

You can say that about any group.

But in my daily world you would need zero since I don't hear any subhuman intelligence jokes about Polish people.

Life / Polack: A Small Minded Movie. [17]

Most of the world knows nothing about Poland let alone knows or pushes these subhuman intelligence jokes about Polish people. The subhuman intelligence jokes about Polish people were primarily told only in Germany and America, especially in the 1970's when Hollywood and the TV media (like NBC-TV) was pushing them hard.

Basically nobody I know or come in contact with today, is telling any "Polish jokes". The only times I hear talk of them today is on the internet like here.

Since the mainstream TV media isn't pushing Polish jokes like it did in the 1970's, its not being pushed by Americans, unless they are Neo-Nazis or Polish-haters themselves.

This movie looks rather odd.

Yes it is an odd movie to say the least. It seems to have some positive imagery of Polish people, like footage of the Polish pope but then the movie goes off on all types of tangents like talking about Gays and skinheads, which every country has. Since the movie talks about finding the origin of subhuman intelligence jokes against Polish people, hopefully it will talk about how "Polish jokes" originated from Nazi German Propaganda and how they ironically spread to the US by Hollywood/TV networks (in the 60's and 70's), with Hollywood not revealing where it got these racist Polish jokes from.

It seems like it has some token positive things to say about Polish people mixed with a lot of negative things about Polish people. Just the name of the movie "Polack" is racist against Polish people with the words "a small minded movie" to add to its racism against Polish people. Could you imagine a movie called "Ni**ger" "a small minded movie" or "K*ke" "a small minded movie"???

But the fact that the movie calls itself a small minded movie should speaks for itself as to the quality or integrity of this "movie". I'll take the producer's word on the movie. Its basically a low brow movie. No wonder it wasn't played anywhere in the US.

But the one thing the movie is accurate about, is that the subhuman intelligence jokes about Polish people was primarily a 1970's thing.

Nevertheless, I'm sure somebody with an anti-Polish agenda, like Delphiadomine, will enjoy the movie.

History / Chance of Lwów once again became coming part of Poland [344]

Anyway, I saw on Polish TV today how some old Polish lady from Volhynia expressed her hope that some day those lands return to Poland :D

Mom,

The only way Poland could get any more territory is by starting a war and nobody wants that.

The only other way (without a war) is if Poland double's its population and pushes its people into lands it wants (like other large population nations have done to get territory). The Poles aren't reproducing enough to increase their population, so you can forget that option also.

So for now its just a hope and a dream. Which is fine since people are free to hope and dream about whatever they want.

Maybe Poland should just focus on for now, managing and operating well the land it has today.

Yes, especially when there is need to efficiently murder large number of women and children in ways unimaginable to a normal person

Some of the things reported to have been done by Bandera, were exagerated by the Soviets, so that there would be more division between Ukrainians and Poles. Just like anti-semitic things done by Poles and Ukrainians were exaggerated by the Soviets so that there would be divisions between Poles-Ukrainians and Jews.

The Soviets knew it was easiest to rule ethnic groups that were divided.

News / Russia says: WE'LL NUKE POLAND [150]

Well there you go. Poland is open minded to things that work for it (and its neighbors).

As for the Slavic unity thing, it doesn't have to be a big grandiose thing. And it may not be for all Slavs.

I was thinking it would be for just those Slavs from Slavic countries who would like to get together and have some kind of yearly gathering and celebrate what they have in common. Kind of like a festival thing, where they keep the politics to a minimum :)

There you go again with your broad sweeping generalizations.

There are a million ways of going about Slavic unity. Starting simply with those Slavs who would like to get together and celebrate that which they have in common.

Stop being so negative all the time.

You are a good man Crow. I appreciate your support of Poland. I am glad to read your interesting messages since you have a lot of knowledge of Slavic history. Guys like you give me a good opinion of Serbia. :)

Russia is today, more then ever, natural ally of Poland

I hope you are right Crow. Slavic nations like Serbia, Ukraine, Russia and Poland should try to stick together. Perhaps pro-Slavic Serbs like you can help bring together Slavic nations with your information.

:) Very nice! :)
I know that lots of our people live in US.
& it s another evidence that people can get along together no matter what nationality they present.
I ve met many Poles & we had a good time!

den_fcdk,

This does not surpise me.

The Ukrainian Americans who I met seemed to respect and like me for being a Polish American.

I have never sensed any anti-Polish feelings from them.

They seemed like good humble people to me. I enjoyed being with them and knowing them.

I respect Ukrainians, because in my opinion, Ukraine has suffered in ways similar to the way Poland has suffered. Perhaps Ukraine has suffered even more then Poland with the Holdomor where the Soviet Union killed off 8 to 10 million Ukrainians with Stalin's famine on Ukraine.

The Ukrainians suffered through the Holdomor which the world seems to not care about. In the Polish American newspapers I read, they report how Polish Americans and Polish Canadians work with Ukrainian American and Ukrainian Canadians for Slavic diaspora unity and remembrance of common Polish and Ukraine suffering under the Soviet Union.

Ukrainians should be proud of how they have perservered through Soviet domination to become a respected country today which I believe will have a substantial positive influence in Europe, especially in Eastern Europe :)

Poland has been the biggest supporter of Ukraine especially in integrating it with the rest of Europe.

I am glad to see that relations between Ukraine and Poland have improved over recent years. It just goes to show that nations which have had past differences can become friends over time.

The late Polish president Kaczynski and Ukrainian president Yushenko were good friends. :)

This is true Seanus. Medvedev deserves a lot of credit attending Kaczynski's funeral when he faced the same volcanic ash risks as Obama to fly to Kaczynski's funeral. Obama used that as an excuse not to come while Medvedev did not.

I just get agitated at the Russians sometimes when I see them and their supporters coming on this forum and knocking Poland/Polish people. Like that one usual suspect.

If you want to talk about UKR-PL history - let s talk.
If you want our land - nobody is going to give it to you.

Yes Delph by your Kremlin standards they may seem to have been that.

But questions showing that Smolensk and Moscow authorities made some mistakes (airport should have been closed, etc) were good questions. But of course from your pro-Russia agenda viewpoint, you don't like those questions.

Your the one with Russia on the brain.

As usual you are very sensitive about anything said about Russia.

When I first read your posts (before I said a word about Russia) all you ever talked about is Russia Russia Russia.

Everything with you was "wo is Russia" and "poor Russia should not be blamed for what Soviet Russia did to Poland". You were whining about Poles daring to have any negative thoughts about Russia, when nobody was even talking about Russia. I found that amazing. Then after the whole Smolensk plane tragedy, you went onto other topics lashing out at Poles for "payback" for Poles daring to ask tough questions about the Smolensk tragedy.

As for your suggested change of the title, RUSSIAN GENERAL IN 2008 SAID THAT THEY WILL AIM NUKES AT POLAND IF THE MISSILE SHIELD IS INSTALLED" that might not be so bad. Its shows how Russia loves to be aggressive against other countries that dare to have DEFENSIVE mechanisms in place against potential Russian aggression (especially at a time when the world saw Russia invade Georgia which nobody ever dreamed would happen in post WWII 2008). That's probably because Russia wants to always be able to have the ability to attack Poland with impunity and how dare the Poles be able to defend themselves against Russia.

RUSSIA threatened to NUKE Poland yesterday as the world faced the prospect of a terrifying new Cold War.
The chilling threat was issued by a top general of Vladimir Putin amid mounting tensions over the war in Georgia........

thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article1566799.ece

So here it is America is not putting the original missiles on Poland's soil which Russia was adamant against, even though they were defensive in nature and no match for all of Russia's nuke missiles. You would think Russia would appreciate that.

Now there is an agreement for simple defensive patriot missiles to be put on Poland's soil and Russia with it huge ego, is making tough guy bravado remarks threatening Poland. How nice lol

History / Chance of Lwów once again became coming part of Poland [344]

Why does America need 6 (in the 50 states), not including the time zones for Guam, American Samoa, Wake Island and more.

Yes and thank God America does have all these territories. But considering their area they still pale in comparison to Russia. America also has the power to seize Canada and territories in all of the Western hemisphere but it does not. Russia on the other hand went far beyond seizing the amount of territory Russia needs for its population. That tells you something.

America also had a time zone in Germany (West Germany) as did Russia (East Germany) but can you guess who the Germans preferred having in their country? The Americans or the Russians?

Modern European history is littered with examples - Russia is hardly unique.

Yes why isn't Kosovo returned to Serbia? I'm all for that. Part of the reason why Kosovo was seized from Serbia was because it was flooded with non-Serbs. That's parallel to how Russia seized most of its territory and influence in other countries. By pushing in chunks of the Russian population like in Eastern Ukraine and now Russian "peacekeepers" in parts of Georgia which Russia is now seizing for itself.

Russia is unique when you just look at the raw size of the country in proportion to the amount of Russians living in it. How can a nation be that greedy for territory? No other nation comes close to having that greed for territory in proportion to its population. Hopefully the Chinese will gradually seize southern Siberia by pushing its population into it to balance Russia's disproportionate greed for territory. The Chinese deserve that land more than the Russians since it used to be their's and their growing population needs it more than the diminishing Russian population.

History / Chance of Lwów once again became coming part of Poland [344]

The Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth had a lot of territory in proportion to Poles and Lithuanians because they needed there own buffer territory since they were surrounded by other large hostile nations. Sadly European history was (and sometimes is today) a dog eat dog world. Unfortunately there is a lot of Shaudenfruede in European history (one nation's loss is another nation's gain). And when your a nation like Poland surrounded by other European nations with large populations that are willing to use their large populations in an aggressive way against you, you need all the help you can get against them.

But why in God's name does Russia which has nukes (so nobody is going to attack it) NEED EIGHT TIME ZONES worth of territory when there is NOBODY who would dare attack Russia????

You blame Stalin for Russia seizing land for Russia. Well then why doesn't Russia today give back land Stalin SEIZED from Finland? Surely Russia does not need this Finnish land especially when Russia is so huge. The reason why Russia today will not reverse Stalin's SEIZING of Finnish land is because the Russians like it when their leaders seize more territory for themselves.

History / Chance of Lwów once again became coming part of Poland [344]

That may have been true in the beginning but afterwards Russia was just greedy for other nation's territory.

Why did Russia try to seize half of Europe? Why did Russia seize the Baltic states, Ukraine and even part of Finland after 1945? Was that so that Russia "would not be subjugated by mongols"?

Its just a nation with colossal greed for other nations' territories.

Although having a lot of land helped, I think Russia's large population had more to do with saving Russia from Hitler and Napoleon than anything else.

I think the Russians instinctively knew if they wanted to seize and conquer other people's territory to "make Russia great" they knew they dam well had to boost their population as much as possible so that they could use their huge population (and the resources that come with it) to bully and bulldoze other nations into submission of their territories to Russia.

Wrong. If you'd been on the ground there, you'd actually know that while the area is populated with Russian speakers, they still very much identify with Ukrainian nationality and not Russian. Poor show, MediaWatch.

LOL

That's pretty funny Delph.

Is that why Putin said Ukraine is not really a nation?

Putin knows the value of having his ethnic Russians in sizeable numbers in parts of Ukraine.

No no. You don't understand - it had nothing to do with non-Poles, and everything to do with the fact that the Poles with power were very reluctant to give any of it up to the normal Polish citizens. In fact, they were so consumed with the desire for power that they were willing to do deals with foreign enemies just to retain their personal kingdoms.

I don't disagree with you that there were bad Poles who sold out Poland at the expense of Poles.

But how did these power hungry Poles hold onto their kingdoms if Poland was whiped off the map?? That doesn't make sense.

Bit like the United States and most other countries, really.

You are correct to a certain degree. Large population nations like to have large territories.

But Russia takes the cake on that one. The US has more than twice as many people as Russia yet it has about half the land of Russia. China has about 10 times the population of Russia yet has less than half the territory Russia has. These numbers kind of tell you about the massive greed and lust Russia has for territory at the expense of other nations. Look at a map of Russia. Why in Gods Earth does a nation with just 135 million people (which is dying) need to have all that territory???? That’s greed on a colossal scale.
