News / 2ND MIRACLE OF THE VISTULA: youth mysteriously appear out of nowhere! [231]

Wrocław, now Gdańsk?!

Now Warsaw. All of a sudden a group calling themselves Młodzi 2017 have appeared out of nowhere and made theri début by picketing Kaczyński's home. Pure coincidence? Or is there the whiff of big money going round tracebale to a certian sinister multi-billionaire speculator who makes his money and gets his thrills by banrkupting countries and bringing down governments?

News / Coup d'état taking shape in Poland with Soros in background? [59]

More and more information is emerging to suggest that a Polish Maidan is now being planned. Bartosz Kramek, who heads the Sorosesque Open Dialogue Fondation whcih helped shape and influence Kyiv's Maidan, has revealed plans on how to carry out a similar putsch in Poland. His Ukrainian wife Ludmila Kozlovska serves as liasion with the sinister Hungarian-Jewish speculator George Soros. Similar instructions have been provided by Michał Broniatowski who set up an internet TV channel Espresso TV which also played an important role in the Ukrainian upheaval. The son of Jewish Stalinists (his father was sentenced by Free Poland for communist subversion in the 1930s), Broniatowski, chief editor of Forbes Monthly, has provided point by point instructions on how to bring about a coup in Poland. That includes:

**finding a socially relevant cause to MOBILISE YOUNG PEOPLE (the sudden appearanace of youth in Wrocław, Gdańsk and Warsaw is obviously part of an organised campaign)

**Initially MINOR SCUFFLES WITH POLICE (that is already happening at Smolensk obsevances and judicial protests)
**MPs (supporting the coup) must be prepared to SET UP TENTS at a moment's notice marked with signs "Biuro Poselskie" (MP Bureau) as that will give them parliamentary immunity

**creation of SELF-DEFENCE UNITS with the proviso that "we should take great pains to avoid a provocation"
**Constant presence of ENTERETAINERS ON STAGE (this is a new element in Poland's protest wave, based on the conviction that nothing whips up emotions better than rousing protest songs).

**Clergy support (here the non-Catholic Broniatowski showed he was out of sync with Poland's heartbeat since the Churchoverwhelmingly supports Law and Justice).

News / Polish professors want Duda to sign judiciala reforms ASAP [5]

It needs merging.

You're the e-gadgetarian and e-merger so go merge it. I couldn't find the MERGE button on my computuer or in the PF set-up.

Incidentally, has anyone heard of step-by-step instructiosn on how to overthrow the government? Such instructions have been provided by Bartosz Kramek and Michał Broniatowski on the basis of Ukraine's Maidan experience.

News / Polish professors want Duda to sign judiciala reforms ASAP [5]

Polish professors have appealed to president Duda to sign into law the judicial reform laws passed by the Sejm and Senate without undue delay. The reforms, according to the professors, will rid the judiciary of the poltical, organisational and cadre legacy of the PRL period. They do non violate the separation of powers nor EU norms and are similar to the solutions found in other European countries.

News / 2ND MIRACLE OF THE VISTULA: youth mysteriously appear out of nowhere! [231]

they really can't stand JK

It's not about likes or dislikes but about what looks ot be a surprisng new development. One could imagien soem coincidence in Wrocław -- a big group of young people left theri excursion coaches, saw a hubbub nearby and went to check it out. A TVN cameraman filmed them creating the impression that young people had suddenly joined the fray. But when the same thin usddenyl occurred in Gdańsk, could that laso be a coincidencde? Wouldn't you say it looks liek an organsed campaign? Not everyone equates PiS with JK but mainly with the campaign pledges being adamantly implemented one by one.

News / 2ND MIRACLE OF THE VISTULA: youth mysteriously appear out of nowhere! [231]

young people

This from Gdańsk: "Protesting citizens of various ages gathered in front of the Gdańsk cour building, but the noticeable thing was the large attendance by young people. Mainly young people without well-knwon names people spoke. By their hairstyles and clothes one could see that a new generation attached to Western standards of public affairs and not desiring Poland to become like Belarus, were maturing to active participation in Poland's poltical life."

"Przed gdańskim sądem zebrali się protestujący obywatele w różnym wieku, ale uwagę zwracała wysoka frekwencja młodych. Przemawiali też głównie ludzie młodzi, bez znanych nazwisk. Po fryzurach i ubraniach łatwo było zorientować się, że do czynnego udziału w życiu politycznym Polski dojrzewa nowe pokolenie, które przywiązane jest do zachodnich standardów życia publicznego i nie chce, by Polska upodabniała się do Białorusi.

Wrocław, now Gdańsk?! It looks to be an organised campaign. Either young people are being bussed in and/or given incentives to take part and rejuvenate the PR image of the protesters who up till now resembeld an OAP gathering.

News / 2ND MIRACLE OF THE VISTULA: youth mysteriously appear out of nowhere! [231]

young people were a tiny minority

This from Radio Wocław:
Tysiące ludzi protestowało wczoraj na ulicach polskich miast przeciwko reformie sądownictwa. Domagano się od prezydenta by zawetował wszystkie trzy ustawy wprowadzające zmiany w Sądach. Wśród demonstrantów, po raz pierwszy, pojawiło się tak dużo młodych ludzi podkreślała w Rozmowie Dnia Radia Wrocław politolog doktor Joanna Kozierska.

The key sentence: "For the first time there were so many young people amongst the demonstrators," emphasised poltical scientist Dr Joanna Kozierska in Radio Wrocław's Chat of the Day.

News / 2ND MIRACLE OF THE VISTULA: youth mysteriously appear out of nowhere! [231]

young people were a tiny minority regardless of the opposition's effort lol

Yes, but the footage shown on TVN and Polsat over the passt two days has shown lots of young people in the crowd. Considering the source (two commercial PiS-bashing stations ) it could of course well be a propaganda ruse, for instance using footsage from some other occasion. But Satruday's Babilon women's talk show commented on "how wonderful it is that the young people have finally made their move." What do you think?

a violation of the rules of correct legislation

It appears likely it will get sent to the Constitutional Tribunal. The discrepancy will be eliminated by legislators and and Duda will be free to sign. A good PR move on his part, but his detractors, yourself, lower-case and your guru HB included, will call him a puppet none the less. Such is poitics!

News / 2ND MIRACLE OF THE VISTULA: youth mysteriously appear out of nowhere! [231]

One of the significant features of the "ulica i zagranica" protests was its demographics. The crowds trotted out by KOD, PO, Petru et al since November 2015 were dominated by the 50-60+ age-group. They have included PO activists and clerks, celebrities, PRL-ersa OAPs, ex-PZPR types, SB and LWP widows as well as others pushed away from the trough of privilege by the will of the Polish nation. Young people were conspicuously absent, and surveys showed that in the 18-24 age-group PiS could count on as much as 60% support.

Now, in the middle of summer vacation, like mushrooms after the rain, groups of young people have quite suddenly and suspiciously appeared out of nowhere, sprouting up amongst the rant & chant brigade. As if pulled out of a magician's hat! Considering the suddenness and timing (ahead of Duda's signature), it is a most peculiar, push-button-like development indeed. It might even be called THE SECOND MIRACLE OF THE VISTULA! Or maybe there's a more rational explanation. NGOs bankrolled by Soros have been known ot provide "incentives" to demonstrators promoting what their sponsor regarded as the "proper" cause. One thing is certain, many a young Pole could use an extra 100-200 złots in the middle of summer vacation.

News / 60% of Poles say Szydło's government should resign [238]

a matter of some importance

Only to the bashers, detractors and badmouthers. You know yourself that opposition calls JK to be PM are not intended to ensure a more effective government but to compromise an uncharismatic poltician and bring about a repeat of 2007. You know you are chiding PiS for "hiding" JK during the campaign not because that would improve their support but wręcz przeciwnie, It's like Trybuna Ludu that would advised the Church to be more modern and "progressive" and imitate the "open Cathoilicism" of France with its worker-priests. The commies no more were itnerested in having a more vibrant and effective Polish Church than you are to see a more resilient, dynamic and effective PiS government. Next joke suggestion, please.

Postscript: You have indeed offered one reasonable diagnosis today, but most of your posts still rllect the primitive black & white propaganda of the rant & chant brigade. So you do have potential, but rubbing elbows with HB and his ilk will definteily not enhance your analytical skills nor overall intellectual devleopment.

very hazy and incremental

Indeed, more in line with the bread & circus philosophy with his "warm tap water" approach.

How many challengers

Do you really think one can compare the internal voting procedures of a politcal party with those of international bodies? What you have actually implied is that the EU should adopt a PiS-style modus operandi.

a platform that has social and migration policies that the majority agree with.

At least for once you have provided a realistic diagnosis. All those polticians, pundits and media people aghast at and preplexed by Brexit and the inroads made by popullist and nationalist candidates in recent years have failed to realise that the leftist-liberal PC codswallop they're peddling appeals mainly to snobbish, arrogant elites. In America and Europe decades of something passed off as "liberal democracy" had become all but second nature and was taken for granted. Eventually howerver the masses began seeing through the clever but deceptive propaganda, the prettified slogans and euphemisms and started to wake up. The migrant crisis was probably the main catalyst, demonstrating the chasm between the "values" of the self-styled elites and the bulk of society.

We are rapidly approaching the threshold of conservative democracy, more in line with the beliefs and needs of ordinary citizens who will always outnumber the snooty elites.

the antipathy to the regime only grows

Indeed, but only amongst a frustrated and resentful leftist-liberal minority of confirmed losers. No wonder! They had largely succeeded in projecting to the outside world an image of Poland as a land in turmoil about to explode and tried to mount a putsch which again fizzled out just lke last December's aborted attempt. Not only PO & Co. do a p*ss-poor job of governing but can't even carry out a coup properly!

Many politicians would be worried at such a low level of support

Indeed, PO -19% and Nowoczesna - 5% are miserably disappointing support levels for parties that hope to rule to rule Poland one day. After the 2007-2015 PO/PSL debacle, it is highyl unlikely the electorate will trust those rip-off artists again any time soon.

after the so called 27:1 disaster

Don't believe the cleve rand suggestive but nevertheless deceptive leftist-liberal propaganda. It was Poland's sole dissenting vote that upheld the EU's honour. Otherwise it would have been a rerun of the kind of rubber-stamp votes typical of totalitarian regimes.

Worse, because everyone knows how emotional lower-case is. But Mayfixit tries to pass himself off as a reasonable and knoledgeable type, well versed in economics and business practices. Such a one should have a more rational grasp of reality and not gullibly fall for meaningless sloganeering.

sign of his arrogance that he considers he has no need to learn these skills

He is a master strategist and that is hsi forte. He doesn't have to be a typist, mathematician or trumpet player. But love 'im o r hate 'im, everyone, even the opposition, agrees he is Poland's most powerful political figure. His major blunder was in 2007 when he agreed to a snap election, believing it would increase PiS' seats in the Sejm. Instead, PO won the elrction and subjected Poles to 8 years of their trademark scamster misrule. On the other hand, what other political party would have better tolerated 2 years of nonsense dished up by the Laurel & Hardy of Polish politics -- Giertych and Lepper?

making hasty, ill-considered choices based on hysteria

That is a fitting description of the hysterical govenrment-bashing rant faction -- like a bunch of screaming, pouting, stomping, tantrum-throwing brats. As an effective child psychologist by virtue of your profession, you certianly cannot be impressed when adults act that way, can you?

Incidentally, the latest Kantar Public survey showed stable public support fo PiS (38%), PO (19%), Petru (95) and Kukiuz (8%). The robust economy has seen fewer young peopel leaving the country and more Poles in general returning than emigrating. People across Poland dismiss the Warsaw rumpus as "warszawka" and are happy many have been able to leave poverty (500+). The high economic indicators (production, exports, investmentrs, higher wages, more consumer spending generating new jobs, the budget surplus rather than deficit, NBP predicotn of 4% GDP growth -- these are the things average Poles see and feel. Our court eocnomic expert Mayfixit cannot explain all that away so he pefers to join the ranter faction repeating their empty political mantras: kaczorek dyktatorek, wolne sądy (ale czy wolne od komuchów?), kon-sty-tu-cja.....

similar to those that exist at present in Bundesrepublik

Not when Germany's Länder have a voice in the matter. Poland would have to allow the województwa to partoivciapte in judicial appointments. But countries like that of the anti-Polish Timmeramans are closer to the Polish model. The parliament there submits candidates whom the king approves. No king in Poland, but conceivably the president coudl play that role. It is far more democratic for a democratically elected parliament to appoint judges than for a closed judges' circle to appoint and promote one another without parliamentary scrutiny. No other European country has anything similar. In many it is the government or justice min. who appoints judges, rubberstamped by the president or king.

Kaczyński is a paranoid fanatic

They should make you chairman of the board of PO*s hate industry. Small, primitive, mean-spriited people people like you and your guru HB desperately need a bugbear, a bogey, a bête noire to revile and discredit because that saves you from thinking. Much easier to repeat loud but emtpy nad meaningless slogans than to think things out for oneself.

authoritarianism and totalitarianism

Apart from democracy and totlaitarianism there is also scmasterism. If PO were so liberal, decent and democratic, how is that in terms of scams, affairs and theft in broad daylight they outdid all previous govenremnts including Miller's ex-commies?.

a worthy subject for the present government to concentrate on

Indeed, once they clean and sweep out "stajnia Augiasza", I would be all for a pro-altruism campaign. By definition PiS are a party of "propaństwowcy". That would be the antithesis of the "me-myself & I" philosophy of previous governments!

moving towards being a totalitarian, facist police state

Words right out of the "total opposition" lexicon. Sadly, many foreign media have let themselves be duped. Understandably, they lack the time to devote too much space to just Poland, and the Michnikite media monopoly, although slowly grinding to a halt, is still barely ticking over. Since the start of III RP, media viistors have made it a point to see Wałęsa, Michnik and perhaps some government minister or spokesman. A majority of Poles, who themselves had indeed been duped for years, have thankfully at long last realised that III RP was nothing more than a deceptivce euphemism for the post-commie system and its efforts to retain their privileged position. But foreign media are still in a time warp. As we all know, habit can easily become second nature.

but this is not true reform

Judge Strzemnbosz at the start of the post.commie perido said "the courts will vlrena themselvbes". Since this, Atch, according to you is not a true reform, Why didn't all the predecessor governments carry one out years ago? Here we have 2017 and toga-clad PRL crminals who had sent fredom-fighters to jail are still dispending "justice".

The opposition inclduing their Petrus, Schetynas and Kijowskis are just bandying slogans about. They don't seem to know what they're saying and surely haven't even bothered to read, let alone analyse the draft bills that were recently passed. For instance, how is it more democratic for a closed, exclusive elite like the KRS, accountable only to itself, to appoint judges rather than parliament, the democratically elected representatives of the nation? The latter is largely the norm in other countries. In Timmermans' country, for instance, the king appoints judges upon the recommendation of parliament.

Weak? He refuses to bow to the pressure, insults, back-biting, warnings, threats, shouting, screaming, screeching, thumping, pounding and other disruptive ballyhoo. If he were weak, he'd freak out and capitulate the will of the has-beens!

democracy

In other words post-communism = democracy? Care to explain how maintaining a sluggish, ineffective, self-serving judicial structure riddled with PRL-era judges that sent dissidents to jail is dmecoratic. 70% of Poels faboru hte judicla reforms -- is ignoring the will of the nation somehow democratic? Post-communism = democracy

is a strange Irish equation indeed! Anyone can shout freedom, democracy, equality and other imponderables but you should see how they are being used by those whose only goal is A RETURN TO THE TROUGH. The PO-style scamasterist status quo is now dead as a doornail and no amount of chanting, screeching, stomping and unruly conduct will ever bring it back. True democracy is serving the nation, not a defunct, has-been elite! Amen!
