UK, Ireland / How might Britain`s withdrawal from EU affect Poles there and here? [474]

"Dolno that it is only a tiny minority that are like this,"

Thanks Chemikiem, I believe you are right here, since I posted the article I have read many of the comments that the DM readers have made the majority are angry and upset about this type of thing, which is great when you think about who is the average Daily mail Reader. (me included). random nutters are everywhere.

But here is a Dolno theory.

A perfect storm has been generated by Brexit

The referendum is just that a indicator of preference to leave made by people (Not legally binding unless voted in by politicians)

Cameron's resignation and turmoil within the shadaow cabinet has caused huge Division in UK politics.

The Liberal part has stated that return to the EU is going to be part of their manifesto.

Many who voted to leave are now expressing fear about the choice they have made.

The EU s getting hostile towards the UK demanding immediate article 50.

Labour's manifesto will be EU positive.

80% Career politicians are pro EU

The upshot is that we may have a general election called due to the Political turmoil and uncertainty of a new (un elected) Prime minister.

Bingo snap election no one will vote UKIP in to run the country, Bound to be a hung pro EU Parliment (Democraticaly voted in) Tada Brexit reversed.

Upshot is , all the money men snapping up cheap shares an currency are going to make a killing.

The man in the street has been duped again and will have to foot the bill.

Not a time to put away the popcorn yet

Life / Poland after one year of living here [105]

"if you don't speak Polish get out please "

After the war my parents were exiled in the UK none of them spoke English and for sure it took more than one year for them to learn English,

They were treated very well by the British people, my father was given work on a building site although he did not speak a word of English .

The Poles in Britain were very much treated as allies and friends who had served in the British forces to fight the Nazis, My father was in the British eight army for eight years without speaking English, many of the Polish Pilots in the Battle of Britain barely spoke a few words.

Lukes story reminds me very much of my own families beginnings in a foreign land. Luke is trying to integrate and make friends which is the best way forward for him to understand our culture and language. I myself started school unable to speak a word of English it can be very tough to make friends.

After my return to Poland I find that most Poles understand and appreciate the close ties and friendship that Britain an Poland have.

Of course there is a minority of uneducated people in Britain and Poland who do not understand their own history, and have a bloody foreigners attitude.

Good luck Like I wish you well.

" Eu and have waited 30 years for the promises of better life to trickle down to them."

Well it was he common market , sadly it grew into the political federal state that you see today.

The real truth is that the working people in the UK never reaped the benefits of what should have been , the rich businessmen and the career politicians did very well out of it.

All I can say is look at the UK minimum wage and see what life that affords you, What has the EU done to help those on the lowest rung to enable them to improve the quality of their lives overall.

'No more Polish vermin': Police investigating after laminated cards reading 'leave the EU go home scum' are posted through front doors

Sadly what I was afraid of appears to have become reality, Vote out has become a green card for the racists to attack.

My life in the UK, was blighted at times, I was a white wog Nazi salutes , I could go on and on .

The EU primary purpose was to promote unity, peace and co operation between nations , sadly banksters and politicians destroyed that dream.

One gutted Dolno, Not often you will hear me say that.

Done and sent Peter

I the last three days you are the third person I have sent information to on Polish citizenship.

Looks like there is a bit of a rush of British wanting to be Europeans, Poland being one of the possible golden gateways if people have Polish ancestry.

"The old and uneducated voted Out." That's whet democracy does it gives everyone a chance to have their say.

But if true this points to the fact that Cameron should have waited a few more years for some of us oldies to die out.

The GB Nationals will have to go into the non EU queues to get their visas checked, good reason enough to hold a Polish EU passport if you can get one.

News / How will BREXIT affect the immigrants in UK and Poland. [1114]

"And as in 1745, it's time for another Glorious Revolution."

That would be just wrong Democracy must be respected however painful it is to some, otherwise what is stopping the physically strong from taking up the sword to take whatever they want, beats working for a living , Just ask Genghis Khan or any other tyrant.

I only woke up for P$ss and a fag, couldn't resist a peek at the early results.

I think Poland is short of 30% funding for its plans this year, I think the EU should give the UK a big bill in the morning and also dump any bad news

Looking forward to getting the polish side of the Berlin motorway fixed... come on stay Poland needs the cash.

I voted 'Leave'!

Congrats you have a pair, but do you think UK politicians can remember how to run a country by themselves, without guidance from Brussels. Its been a long time since the UK was in a position to rule itself. the house of commons has been all about rubber stamping outside policies for decades, a good earner for many uk politicians and no come back if things go wrong, because it is easy to blame the problems on the EU Bureaucrats.

analyse, evaluate and judge.

Ok I stand corrected, from the tone of your posts I got the impression ( maybe wrongly) that you were being judgmental just on just religious and sexist grounds.

"Religio " I gather from your username that you are a religious person I am guessing Catholic, You have every right to put down your thoughts and beliefs and preach on the forum as you wish.

But at times here on this thread you are coming across as aggressive (especially to women) and judgmental, surely in your faith it is for God to stand in judgement of people and not you.

Just my opinion that's all.

"low information voters"

Talking of which it is raining in the UK with floods , this historically has meant that many left leaning scroungers will not leave the house to vote.

We need their support if Britain is to remain, so if you know any give them a call and make sure they vote, I have already called my my sister, my scrounger brother in law will be out voting to stay in the next hour or so.

"She should have thought about that before"

There are many things that people should have thought about like crossing the road without looking first, people still do it and get run over.

People have choices in life , men and women have a right to live freely and on an equal basis., and yes they should have a choice as to what they do with their bodies for reasons of their mental and physical well being.

"screaming bloody murder if that happened now." This is true I can't see this or any other Polish government suppressing free speech and democracy in Poland unless it for genuine safety grounds.

" right to ban public assemblies " but linked to the terror threat level 4 being the highest.

If the government misuses this law, it will be transparent to the population at large, and in that case I do not think they would get a second term.

After all in Poland we like our demonstrations, democracy in action.
