People vote for the ones who they know, or who somebody told them about. From what I know, it generally works like that.

or in the case of one particular mayor/president. give your staff phone cards and suggest that they might like to phone friends and tell them who to vote for.

For instance, my wife didn't even know where to vote as she wasn't told.

folks usually vote at the same place year after year. simply follow the crowd after morning service.
there are lists on the internet, possibly in the papers. without trying to seem rude... one shouldn't wait to be told

Your family history / genealogy can only be checked by looking at documents and always assuming the truth was written in the first place.
one can be almost sure of the mother, but never certain about the father... at least when looking at historical records.
the whole genealogy thingy is based on trust alone.

interesting show this week. they had to each make a reklama.

none of them got it right, but it was the first time for all of them.

they also had to conduct a short interwiew.

that seems odd. if you can compete with others and show you're better than they are, why wouldn't they pay you more? isn't that how it works?

this is how it is. the best qualified gets a foot in the door and then is offered the smallest wage possible. if u don't accept it the next guy will.

My husband thinks all schools in Poland are great, but then he thinks everything there is great.

some schools might be great. native speakers are only needed to promote the school. there is no real reason why a native speaker should be offered more money than a local. teaching kids can easily be done by locals.

first they want to see your cv then they will look for the relevant qualification, but in the end it depends on the school's needs and how u blag for the job.

private teaching will bring in more lessons, but only after u have built up a reputation.
the lucky break would be to teach business personel within a particular company.

editing, rewrites, proofreading is not to be relied on. it comes and goes.

keep in mind that schools will pay as little as possible and use u to fit their needs, nothing more.

The haircut looks ridiculous,

she screamed and shouted when they cut it. the style worked very well for her in one photo though.

so why would anyone send her home?

it all came down to the last photo. she wasn't good enough.

by way of defence i would say that if u judge by the photos then u are also judging the photographer.

Emilia came across as a fun, serious person, with personality.

Dont you think there's a time and place for this kind of thing though?

indeed. but when people travel a long distance, it's freezing cold (not this year) and one has spent an hour or so at the cemetery, hot food like hot dogs is essential. this is very important on the 1st Nov when all other outlets are closed.

i've not heard of the other things being sold. though i don't doubt it.

i'm surprised the candles haven't been mentioned. what was once in a little jar is now up to 30cm tall with some being battery operated. i guess we have to move with the times.
