News / Moody's credit rating of Poland unchanged, but outlook slumps [64]

No, not really

Dunno where you learnt your maths, but the 2016 forecast 1.8 GDP growth in the EU IMHO is lower than the 3.6 forecast for Poland. BTW GDP is still the most widely used measure of economic growth.

Care to remind us

Care to mention the vast amount of waste, neglect, theft, bribery, fixed tenders, failed projects, mortars ordered by the military but no ammuniton to go with them, the computerised Ewuś healthcare system that has collapsed, etc., etc. How many billions have been squandered or misapprorpirated by the "grab the loot and

run" gang known as PO/PSL.

Poland's economy was and remains robust

The Polish economy in 2016 is expected to grow by 3.6%, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development said in its latest report, upgrading the 2016 forecast from a previous 3.3%.

"Growth in 2016 is expected to remain at a similar level [as in 2015], as disposable income will grow thanks to a generous injection from the government's pro-family fiscal program, which amounts to roughly 1 per cent of GDP," EBRD wrote

News / Moody's credit rating of Poland unchanged, but outlook slumps [64]

Moody's Investor's Services have not lowered Poland's A2 credit rating but only dropped the country's economic outlook from stable to negative. Since the date of Moody's verdict had been known in advance, the ruling conservative Law and Justice administration was worried and the anti-government opposition overjoyed by the propsect of a rating cut. That would have supplied the opposition with more ammunition with which to discredit Poland's democratically elected authorities. When rating agency Standard and Poor's (S&P) downgraded Poland's credit rating in January, the opposition claimed that proved the government was ruining the country's economy. In actuality, it was the opposition's clamorous street protests and its attempts to internationalize an internal dispute over the Constitutional Tribunal that created the impression of a country in disarray, although Poland's economy was and remains robust. Moody's said it lowered the outlook on Poland's A2 rating amid fears that plans to lower retirement age and a child-benefit program would place a considerable financial burden on the budget.

USA, Canada / Polish president wins Canada's support, welcomes Canadian troops [2]

During an official visit to Canada Polish President Andrzej Duda Prime received a pledge from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that he would emphasize the need to strengthen NATO's eastern flank at this summer's Warsaw summit. "We welcome Canadian troops to Poland," Duda said during a meeting with Canadian Governor General David Johnston. Canadian soldiers have been stationed on a rotational basis in Poland since the Russia's illegal annexation of Crimea and aggression against Ukraine in 2014. Duda emphasized that Ukraine clearly needed help, and Canada agrees that Russia must respect international law, the sovereignty of nations and the inviolability of their borders. Canada has the world's largest Ukrainian Diaspora and has a special relationship with Ukrainians. The Polish president also visited Canada's largest Polonian parish in Missasauga outside Toronto where he thanked Polish Canadians for keeping their ancestral heritage alive.

Known for badmouthing Poland's pro-Polish government no matter what, the resentful and mean-spirited oppostion losers' camp intially claimed Duda was going to Canada as a tourist and would not meet his Canadian oppoiste number, the Governor Genral. It turned out to be an official visit where he met Canada's PM and Governor General as well as MPs.

Feedback / The Cognitive Dissonance and Campaign of Hate by Polonophobes and Other Peddlers of Anti-Polish Propaganda [60]

have worked there, own a house and are a citizen.

And you should have added: hate Poles, things Polish, Poland and its history, cultural and religious heritage, try to impose their alien leftist-libertine ways on their host country, usually Anglomangle the language (never post in PF's Polish section for instance) and extol all things UK-ish including that downright awful Vegemite, foul-smelling curry dishes and, of course, their beloved Heinz Baked Beans! They couldn't make it in their own country so they came to a place where they could gloat and cash in on their native-speaker label.

Is that the profile of the ideal Polish citizen?

KOD

KOD LEADER KIJOWSKI CHICKENED OUT!
KOD's hipster leader Mateusz Kijowski pulled a no-show when he learnt he would get pitted against two-fisted nationalist activist Marian Kowalski in the TVP studio. TVP goes to great pains to provide viewers with two or more sides of every controversial issue, Kowalski likened all of KOD's noisy street protests to "the squealings of pigs deprived of their trough."

USA, Canada / Chicago's 1.1 million Polish Americans celebrated Constitution Day [47]

Merged: PolAm runs MarriageSavers campaign in the USA

We all know the typical arguments and grounds for divorce: alcohol abuse, poor breadwinner unable to proivde the Mrs with the lifestyle she was accusotmed to, the wife left the old man and ran away with a handsome lifeguard, the old man ran off with a cocktail waitress half his age, etc., etc. "Everybody should have the right to abandon their family and start all over," the pro-divorce contingent claim. One group in Michigan are working to save troubled marriages. Among other things they have compiled the following data worth thinking about:

"Fault Divorce is unconstitutional. Both the 5th and 14th Amendments of the US Constitution guarantee that "no person be deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law." However, I asked, "When every divorce is granted, how is there `due process of law?'

"And divorced people ARE deprived of life, liberty and property. A divorced woman lives 4 years less than a married woman; a divorced husband, 10 years less and their kids, 5 years shorter lives. Typically, a father can only see his kids two weekends a month - depriving him and his kids of liberty. And creating two households on the same income as one, deprives both of property."

on making every country accept their ideals

That is the hallmark of every utopia -- trying to force their brand of "happiness" on everyone else whether they want it or not. Every utopia has failed, be it Marxist, Fascist or earlier attemtps to create the "ideal society". One question no gung-ho PC type can answer properly is: Why do you think your the PC utopia (multi-culti, LGBT, diversity and all that rot!) will not fail like all the rest? They all had one thing in common: forcing their agenda on everyone and penalising or eliminating anyone who dared disagree with it.

pride parades in a Poland

Poland is not the centre of the universe. If things are slightly mroe subdued it's only to enable the LGBT gang to gain more acceptance in Catholic Poland were public perversity is widely frowned upon. Once they're accepted and allowed to rule the roost and call the shots, they will show their claws, fangs and true colours. It has happened everywhere and will come to Poland too if we're not on guard. A few years back the Biedrońs were piously dismissing the prospect of homo marriage. "We onyl want civil unionsn," they claimed. Now they are openly calling for homo marriage and adoption "rights". Woe betide those poor kids if that ever happens!

1.5%

And what tenth of one percent is is accoutned for by trannies? Entire loos at Target have been created to accommodate that miniscule sub-group of a sub-group and discriminate against the healthy majority who want men to be men and women to be women. That is PC democracy in action. Everybody is equal but memebrs of tiny, eccentric fringe groups are more equal than others!

And not doing a very good job

We are told to say yes-yes and no-no. No euphemising evil but calling it what it is. No hypocritical PC, because a spade is a spade not a hoe or rake.

Maybe I take PF too seriously. Some prefer only random chat mudslinging. I prefer discussing issues. But there are some PFers, for instance the loudmouth, know-all blowhard (whose name or nick I won't mention) who are so vicious and obnoxious they would even turn St Francis into a serial killer.

where do you 'run across' such a ter

On PF. That's the first time I ever saw it. I had heard of Cis-Jordanie which is French for West Bank, but the cis didn't make sense in the context of describing a person. Wouldn't you have checked it out. BTW, why do you get such pleasure from malinging me? Others are brandishing their godlessness and decadence left and right, on PF, in the media and showbiz circuit and yet one never hears a peep of protest out of you, Atch. I am only trying to live my faith. Is that a crime?

a more enlightened place

You mean, of course, a "brave new world" of leftist agendas, PC dictate, run-away perversions and every manner of oddity, idiosyncracy and deviation anyone can possibly imagine. Yes, we all know you yearn for such a world, lower-case jon. But maybe you're in the wrong country. There are so many better places on God's good earth to celebrate your brand of anything-goes libertarianism and licence.

never heard of many of these

Maybe that's the problem. All these weirdities and abnormalilites are developing apace behind most people's back and when they realise what's happening it may be too late. That's how it was with homo marriage. That's how it is with genderless toilets. Now only at Traget, but the way things are going some dingbat law may eventually make them obligatory throughout. Vigilance is defintiely in order so as not to be faced with more faits accomplis.
