News / British man accused of molesting teenagers in Poland [74]

Poland's shocking inability

Isn't It all Kaczyński's fault ?

Children were abused here, or do you not care about that and only focus on your own masterbatery egos?

Unfortunately many children are abused daily, in Poland, UK and elsewhere.

News / Poland's Lost Generation [172]

Poles were made ni**ers in their own country. We work for western companies (harder than westerners and for 20% of their wages) buy in foreign owned retail chains, keep money and take loans from foreign banks and the trend continues, soon we will even buy electricity from foreign companies. Traitors installed to govern this country sold us out. Poles were made the proletariat class with no property/capital and It will be extremely difficult to change that. We work for pennies and the profits goes abroad. It is not a lost generation, It is a lost nation.

Very true. The same people would have ended up working for 3000 złoty a month If they had been living in Poland. Facebook is even better example. They invented nothing. It's all about utilization of capital.

As far as Entrepreneurs are concerned, Poland was a nation of them in the nineties, but that was then and this is now.

You guys just don't get it, if you want to start something up in Poland now. with a hope of succeeding- you need at least US 200,000 or forget. Poland is no longer as cheap as it once was.

Spot on.

History / Why did communism in Poland fail? [180]

So why did communism fail?

Because the central planned economy was ineffective and people were not so stupid anymore to allow genocide like in 30's in the Soviet Union. Without that terror, the next revolution (anti-communist this time) was a matter of time, so commies preffered to give it up peacefully (of course first securing their interests). Besides in Poland and other "satellite states" (and many soviet republics) communism was a foreign concept imposed upon them by the enemy.

And you're even so humourless you don't understand when someone makes a pun about beer.

Don't humiliate yourself. I saw your "Polish" on another thread.

Idiot. Paid that money back yet?

I think I will follow this advice:

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

UK, Ireland / Poles top the UK's EU crime figures [78]

I guess you don't have much to worry about

True. I just pointed out xenophobic nature of this article.

Study / When will Polish schools start to recruit for September 2011? [23]

You do realise that the salary in a Polish school will be about 1100zl brutto for a teacher at the lowest rank?

Prove It.

I was wondering if anyone know when Polish schools start recruiting

If you don't speak Polish and want to teach English, you should target private language schools.

If, however, Poland wants to be in Europe

What are you going to lecture us on tommorow, Mr Europe ?

Seriously, aren't you too old for this nonsense ?

UK, Ireland / Poles top the UK's EU crime figures [78]

The point is that the numbers really aren't bad.

UK, Ireland / Poles top the UK's EU crime figures [78]

In 2010, 6,777 Poles were convicted of crimes and 4,343 Romanians.

There are at least several times fever citizens of the "following" countries in the UK than Poles, so they are much more likely than Poles to commit crimes.

Imagine the article stating that Chinese are the worst offenders in the world and providing some details about a Chinese guy killing his ex-girlfriend. How would a thinking human call that kind of journalism ? Either xenophobic or idiotic or both.

Travel / How safe is Krakow for a single girl ? [35]

The larger cities (like Krakow) are generally safer, it's those smaller cities and villages

They stare at colored people there...

History / August Agbala - Nigerian soldier in Warsaw Uprising [23]

I read that there were quite a few black soldiers during Polish-Soviet war, usually they were... Polish-Americans from mixed marriages. There was also a black general in Polish army fighting on French side in Napoleon's wars.

On the top photo I can see no trace of any rank insignia either on jacket or rogatewka.

He was a private. I saw that foto much larger and It was clearly seen then. To become an officer he would have needed some serious previous military experience and rank in European/American army.

Law / Poland headed for an accounting disaster? Imports underestimated, no Euro entry [19]

predicted that in 20 years time based on current projections of an average growth rate of some 4.5%-which was Poland's rate of growth for the previous 10 years, Poland will get there and catch up with Germany.

Really ? That methodology of prediction is worth nothing even by elementary school standards.

In my opinion that is a conservative estimate, I believe it is likely to be closer to 5%.

Please list the reasons behind that optimism.

Law / Poland headed for an accounting disaster? Imports underestimated, no Euro entry [19]

include the recent pension changes by limiting the % amount put into OFE. A good way of tackling the problem without unnecessary pain.

Go read what Krzysztof Rybiński or even Balcerowicz are talking about it.

I bet you would have complained if they stated cutting public services.

I would have been more than happy.

Sounds like silly 30s nationalism to me

Not at all. Green field foreign investment in manufacturing or services are a great thing (especially If they are high-tech/knowledge based ane export oriented) but selling for pennies domestic market oriented companies to foreign entities is at best idiotic and that's what happened in Poland.

Trust me it will happen sooner than you think, I would give it a maximum of 20 years. Although I think it is more likely to be about 15.

Fascinating. Please post the reasons behind that optimism.

Life / Girls in Poland shaving side of head!? [30]

One of my friends has that hair style (the way she can cover it with long hair and looks "normal") and It doesn't look bad on her. It is "popular" the way that 1 in a 100 teenage girls/young women has it.

News / Anti semtism at Polish Congress [57]

Funnily enough - people are quick to scream when people say bad things about Poland, but when Poles say bad things about others, everyone's quiet....funny, that.

Aren't you quoting the Polish Radio's article... ? You would never hear about It If not the Poles loudly criticizing this kind of stuff. And obviously you had to omit a part about these freaks saying that Kaczyński deserved to die.

Work / (IT field) moving from India to Poland -Wroclaw in May '11 [46]

Come on, I am against bring millions of non-Europeans to Poland as It obviosly didn't work out very well in the west but they got into that mess importing uneducated, anti-social crowds, not IT specialists. Vast majority of people working in IT in Poland are Polish, the companies (both Polish and foreign) prefer local workers (otherwise they would simply set up an office elsewhere) so If they take foreigners, It means they really need them.
