The French had an army larger than the Germans and help from the British who sent most of it's armor with the Expeditionary Force and lasted and month a half, we fought the Germans and Soviets alone for a month i'd say we did well.

Polish 1st and 2nd Army fought in the most important battle of WWII Berlin, yet in the west it's never talked about only some bs that Poland was defeated in 2 weeks in September.

Storming Grozny Chechnya, Russians thought they'd just go in with lots of armor Chechens were gonna s**t their pants and give up, a brigade was lured and ambushed by Chechens with RPGs and anti tank missiles all armor destroyed lots of soldiers killed they didn't even bother putting on armor blocks on the turrets.

Russia in its mass was never a country that was civilised, interwar Poland was a country with flourishing culture, civilisation on par with any other european country.

In the cities yes in the countryside people were very poor eating potatoes everyday, my mothers family comes from a village called Czarna Dabrowka Schwarz Damerkow en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Czarna_D%C4%85br%C3%B3wka they had nice houses after the war that Germans left, in eastern Poland most people had clay for floor in their homes in the countryside.

Dont put DDR as an example, german communism was softcore in comparison to what was happening in Poland

I dunno Honecker was a communist down to the core.

No i wouldn't wanna hurt your feelings ;-)

It's simply a matter of taste and it's always easy to generalise. But really 6 of 10 Polish ladies in the Netherlands that I know or have seen are ugly

Here in PA there are few pretty Polish girls, in New York or Chicago there's much more not just because there are much more Poles there but in percentage of population, it has to do with the region the girls come from. Mazowsze or Podkarpacie from my observation have alot of hot girls.

Stalin had sacrificed hundreds of thousands of men by setting dates he wanted cities captured by, Berlin, Kiev.

Pretty, pretty war ;)

All soldiers in the Red army were expected to speak Russian..

Even our beloved Marusia spoke Russian as did most Polish soldiers from the east being born or deported to those lands.

The roads are in a sorry state here and that's the main reason I spent 3 days in hospital. I lost concentration, then couldn't brake in time for a big hole.

Sorry to hear that. Once they build good surfaced smooth dual carriageways with barriers on the sides, no intersections or pedestrian crossings the roads should be alot safer. Another thing everyone wants roads like that but no one wants them running near their homes, residents are also slowing down progress.

I see what you're saying but it's just that part of it that looks like that because it's so straight and has the grass in between and on the sides of the road looking like race track, look at the same road S8 just north of Warsaw.

Many if not most Polish girls are traditional and don't want a foreign man. I know Polish American girls who were born in the States and married or are gonna marry a Polish man because they want Polish children, and have their children speak Polish.

Are you hearing yourself? You're the one who seams like a racist and doesn't put Poles on the same level.

PB, I was talking in scale terms. 50k Vietnamese is NOTHING. Poland is much bigger than the UK but nowhere near as MC. A melting point consists of sizeable quantities of many nationalities like in the UK.

Yea you're right, once multiple neighborhoods are gonna be full of foreign born residents people might look at things differently, and like you said Poland and Poles don't want a melting pot. And to a Pole a Roma, Vietnamese, African and a Brit like yourself are entirely two different things, I'm sure you're respected alot more in Poland than those nationalities.

There's up to 50 thousand Vietnamese in Poland, many Africans they're very different from us seams like they're trying to integrate.

Modernisation cannot be done on the cheap and cuts across the board

I don't like the fact that the Chinese are building roads and doing in for much less, you can't cut corners without a price, in this case quality. I thought the whole purpose of the European Union was for the countries to stick together and help one another like through announcing tenders and letting an EU company win the contract.

My friend who used to live in some village near Krosno, Podkarpacie saw with his own eyes how a Gypsie girl went into a bar offered herself to a man for money, the man went with her in some bushes Gypsie men came out beat him up and robbed him. He said things like that happen often. In the city i used to live in Stalowa Wola a Gypsie stabbed and robbed the owner of a Kantor.

Whether the figures are correct or not the faster the motorways and expressways are built the better. I know much has changes in the last 20 years, but for a central European country to have roads like that or major cities not having a metro, is embarrassing. Roads, airports, railways built investors will come.

I think those smaller (50 to 100 thousand) boom towns are much worse, since industry has fallen in post communist years and unemployment is high, there are many youths wondering around the streets in groups or Żule trying to rob someone, especially in eastern Poland.

For several months Bytom's Roma live in fear. It started with the family, which wanted to force a tribute. In the case of non-payment of one of her sons was to have a broken leg. His mother no longer send him to school. But recently a boy was beaten at the mall Agora. Although the family phoned the police and identified the perpetrators, continued to be harassed. It's weird how Silesia is definitely not the poorest region of Poland but has the most crime. I read an article how in Brzeg skinheads a few years back were breaking into Roma homes and beating them with bats. Crime in Poland by city Number of crimes per 100,000 inhabitants:

Not a good time to be a foreigner working in the UK.

If you're so worried you should worry about the locals getting a job, if a Pole will work for less and harder than a Brit who do you think an employer will hire? common sense

The Tories have slashed public sector jobs and the private sector is probably not going to soak them up, leading to higher unemployment

Good maybe more Poles will go back home, what percentage of those who came to the UK did go back?
