Travel / Visa to Poland (stay more than 90 days in Poland) [45]

You might want to check again. If you are in the Schengen zone for 90 days and take a trip to Romania for a week, you still have to wait out the rest of the 3 months before you can re-enter the Schengen zone on a tourist visa.

News / Human Trafficking in and from Poland [80]

I don't feel sorry for the women 'falling' for all the promises and the big money abroad in some exotic country. Really, they know what's ahead of them.

So you think that all the people that went to the UK for hospitality and labor jobs thought they were going to be trafficked? That they just took the risk when applying, and it just so happened to be a real job?

The problem with the advertisements, is that between 99 legit ads, there will be one that's not. It's still a large medium for finding work abroad.

The pimps target the ladies that aren't too bright.

That's not true. The people that I met through La Strada were quite the opposite. It's easy to be pressured by violence especially when you're not used to it.

UK, Ireland / Do all Brits take (illegal) drugs? [114]

Absolutely, that's one of the problems that rescue teams have across the world. Bailing out people who take stupid risks. I think Stossel did a show about it a while back. Anyway, with regards to drugs, 99% of the time it's a question of personal responsibility. People tend to perform very very bad risk analysis which leads to stupid decisions...in the case of drugs, that means doing too much, way too much to the point where they can't handle it. I have no sympathy at all for those people.

You mean you don't have a super-secret double life?? ;)

Mild mannered poster by night, superhero by day. It's a bit of role reversal, but hey, it works.

God bless clearing houses.

Amen to that, no discrimination whatsoever. Places one square amongst equals.

if they take things like hashish in moderation. As long as it doesn't harm others or hinder their work.

Ah, and there's the key, balance, plain and simple/

unfavorable reviews of members rental homes. So... beware.

I am my employer, and have enough capital not to have to worry about what other people say about me. The markets don't care who's selling or who's buying :)

Ok so I know what's your experience, PF users, but what's your attidute now?

I'd say go for it, if it's legal in your locale. If not, it's too much of a risk. If you're an idiot, exploring the extremities of living life might not be for you. If you have your life in order, and can make halfway decent decisions, why not?

Now the modern combat drugs are the anesthetics because they make invulnerable to pain.Iraqi insurgents in Faluza had taken anesthetics and bullets did not make them fall they kept standing up like zombies.

Khat in Somalia...

she is officially just a US citizen. So, what should she do to stay in Poland beyond 90 days being just a US citizen?

Might want to give a ring to the consulate, tell them your situation, and ask them how you can come home :)

I have to say that from all the drugs ive sampled grade A cocaine is the best if you get the good stuff - rocket fuel.....

Yes, yes it is.

Speed is dodgy stuff. We only ever took it when we could't afford coke. It's rough and nasty and a bad comedown. If coke is champagne, speed is Buckfast ; )

The problem with speed is the same as with coke. What else is in it? There was a lot of shake an bake meth going around in the states with lots of nice ingredients that you got in addition to the meth. Not nice, not nice at all.

Same effect can probably be achieved with couple of energy drinks or large amounts of caffeine.

Exactly, it's a nice political move, good PR.

yes but it's not the same.

That's right, the power of a couple of isomers.

How is Czech for buying a joint, for example? can you buy it in a shop?
Or do you have to know someone?

It's just been decriminalized for personal use. Sale is still illegal (like in Holland...). Just walk into any bar in Zizkov and ask your friendly local bartender.

I don't think so, I was told it produces amphetamine for "medical use" in armies abroad.
I am trying to find something on google but I can't, may be it is not true?

Yes.
I don't know if it's true but a couple of people told me.

USAF pilots get amphetamine pills for their long distance flights.

In Poland we call that name amphetamine. Other names are feta, białko, władek, amfa.

Methamphetamine is amphetamine based :)

watch out! its illegal ;)

Not in the Czech Republic...or Portugal for that matter. I only indulge in booze here.

The law has changed :)

They still deport Americans in Prague (usually bartenders and teachers). The rules have been changed to where you can only stay 90 days out of a 180 day period. Border runs are a thing of the past.

Anyway, sure fire way to get residency, just start a company and employ yourself. Works just about everywhere.

Speed is to Methamphetamine what cocaine is to crack. it's a harder form of speed.

Speed is methamphetamine.

Anyway, I've done just about everything known to man, stick to alcohol, weed, and psychedelics now (hello Prague!).

Yeah I've seen this on YT. Also the meth teeth are famouse atribute of a tweaker. In smoked meth there is ammonia which literally melt your teeth.

Actually the teeth go from grinding them...

News / Tusk cracks down on designer drugs ("dopalacze") in Poland [171]

often know more and analyse things more deeply

But you just thought that young people were mounting huge protests and smartshops.. We look out of our windows to wave to the crowds...and no one is there. Second hand information is still exactly that... I could watch Fox news all day long, or CNBC and have two completely different ideas of what's going on in the US, neither of which would be accurate. Poland is doing alright.

Travel / Share Your Travel Experiences in Poland [16]

I'm not accustomed to driving on the wrong side of the road.

It's not exactly rocket science, not that steep of a learning curve... Don't turn left into a roundabout, shift with your right hand, overtake on the left... Other than that, driving is the same...

Do you realize how offensive your description of Eminem was? And no, I don't like his "music".

likewise.

Travel / Is it safe to travel to Poland? [194]

Thank you guys so much for your replies, they are indeed very helpful. I am a Singaporean and I decided to visit Auschwitz because I have read quite a bit on the WWI history back in school days.

Forgot an "I" there :)

I think it is quite scary to be staying at the train station at such late hour so I decided to make some changes to my route. I decided to stay for a night at Krakow and visit Auschwitz from there.

Probably a better option. I understand a certain Mr. Irving does guided tours...

I have no idea on who does tours :( Google probably knows though :)

News / Human Trafficking in and from Poland [80]

That doesn't explain Czech, Slovak, Polish, Dutch, German, and Australian women who take up prostitution.

The evil is trafficking, not the prostitution.
