Seems pretty stupid to me, maybe you should all drive slower and do your country a huge favour!

i don't think 87mph is excessive on a motorway/autostrada/autobahn

i like to arrive the same day i set off.

you don't say which period.

at one time Newcastle/Gateshead had the most Polish folk.

however, the Polish community in the past was made up of (and to this day) Polish Jews.

the modern day addition of Polish folk would bring the total up, but the modern folk don't mix with the old folk.

your question is not so easy to answer.

the first 50-60km from the border is as bad as it ever was.

i know because i've been to berlin and back a couple of times in the past couple of weeks.

I strongly urge you to seek professional medical help for this matter now as "patience" is no longer an option.

if you write to the family in strong words they will say : what the fcuk do you know... and then put you on ignore.

it should be plain to the family that xxx is running out of friends for a reason.

your problem is that xxx doesn't believe her father is dead.

And the family believe xxx will get better.

They are all in denial. big time.

Life / Winter 2010/2011 in Poland, is it going to be bad? [114]

as the road was single lane (at the time) it was difficult to avoid some of them.

i noticed that when it came to overtaking... cars in front pulled over and then rejoined the flow of traffic when those doing the overtaking had passed.

should have mentioned that there was also patchy fog very early in our trip.

anyway, there were plenty of snow ploughs on the roads so it might be better tomorrow.

Life / Winter 2010/2011 in Poland, is it going to be bad? [114]

i'll squeeze in a little traffic report, if i may.

the road back from berlin to wroclaw (6:00-10:00am) was single lane and mostly white.
there were snow ploughs out and we found ourselves behind one doing 60km/h.
the road was almost devoid of traffic. no TIR's at all.

however, the road to berlin was jam packed and slow.

add an hour or so, if you're travelling either way.

top speed seemed to be about 80-110 km/h depending on which stretch of road.

watch out for the holes in the road on that 50km bad stretch from the border into Poland.

Only football and baseball isn't played in Poland because they would never understand or follow the rules.

Little League has been played here for more than twenty years that i know of.

just because these games are not written/talked about does not mean they don't exist.

ice hockey, am. football, baseball are all played in Poland.

When someone from Poland contradicts this I will take notice:

from wikipedia: "In some parts of Central and Eastern Europe such as Russia, Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania, a traditional meatless 12-dishes Christmas Eve Supper is served on Christmas Eve before opening gifts. This is known as the "Holy Meal". The table is spread with a white cloth symblic of the swaddling clothes the Child Jesus was wrapped in, and a large white candle stands in the center of the table symbolizing Christ the Light of the World. Next to it is a round loaf of bread symbolizing Christ Bread of Life. Hay is often displayed either on the table or as a decoration in the room, reminiscent of the manger in Bethlehem. The twelve dishes (which differ by nationality or region) symbolize the Twelve Apostles."

In the Polish Christmas Customs sight it states"The dinner itself differs from other evening meals in that the number of courses is fixed at seven, nine or eleven.

in twenty years of talking to folk/students this is the first time i've heard the above.

there is great stress on there being twelve dishes. not courses.

Life / How do the Polish feel about air pollution in their cities? [35]

for example is air pollution seen as a high priority,

obviously not in wroclaw. rondo reagana wrocław is a series of bus and tram stops built in the the middle of the highest concentration of traffic in the city.
