News / Anti-government opposition wants to impeach Poland's President Duda [44]

PiS have to

PiS have to serve the Polish nation, not a narrow post-commie elitist clique of foreign-interest lobbyists and compliant media types, academics nad entertainers -- the PO's traditonal constituency. But their time is over. The good-change era is now under way. May it last indefinitely!

Very solid grounds

None whatsoever for the best president ever, maybe except for the late lamented Ryszard Kaczorowski. You guys are living in a fairy-tale world whose only programme, only plan, tactic or agenda is to bash PiS. No fresh ideas, no sensitivity to what the nation needs or wants, just bashing morning, noon and night, day after day after day....and public support for the frustrated hate-spewers keeps slipping. At presetn it looks as if Petru won't even make it into the Sejm next time round.

who the hell is Macierewicz

Macierewicz is not only a government minister of one of the best, most people-friendly administrations Poland has had since 1989. He was the one who could have prevented today's wasteful, costly and distracting 24-yearPolish-Polish war back in 1992 when an opporuntiy to decommunise the country emerged. Instead, SB informers Wałęsa (Bolek), Moczulski (Lech), Tusk (Oskar), Kwaśniewski (Alek) et al toppled the Olszewski government, putting paid to a clean-up programme like that carried out by other former Soviet satellites.

News / Anti-government opposition wants to impeach Poland's President Duda [44]

The leader of the liberal PO party, Grzegorz Schetyna, is calling for the impeachment of President Andrzej Duda and wants to reduce the government's role in the country's regions. This is the latest attempt by the party that was swept out off office by voters last October to derail the administration of the conservative Law and Justice party. Poland has a two-pronged regional system: a voivodship (provincial) office controlled by Warsaw and the Marshal's Office which represents the provincial authorities. Schetyna wants to do away with the voivodship office, but not to reduce bureaucracy. As the PO regime's interior minister, he never made such proposals. Since his PO still dominate many regional assemblies, Schetyna apparently believes eliminating the voivodship office will undermine the central government's authority. That might effectively lead to an all-out cold region v capital civil war against PiS and possibly produce some way of toppling the government. Meanwhile, public support for PiS is growing and the opposition's backing is at one of its lowest ebbs.

does show their true colours

It does show the true colours of PO stooges and frustrated, embittered and resentful KODesque losers who will stop at nothing to stir up trouble, jeer respected national statesmen and even desecrate so solemn an event as the Poznań commemoration. What right have a gang of PO-string-pulled provincial clerks to tell the Polish Armed Froces how to conduct a solemn commemorative ceremony?

holding citizenship

With four Polish-born grandparents,a Polish-born mother and PolAm Father I am Polish to everyone except a few idiots on PF and letter-of-the-law pen-pushing bureaucrats whom I don't care much about anyway. One can have 13 plastic cards and not be Polish, feel Polish and speak Polish properly, only criticise Polish customs, religion, lifestyles, even the food ("bland and salty" -- but not as salty as Marmite!). To such a one the plastic card would therefore only be document of convenience. Somone couldn't make it in his own country and tried his luck elsewhere.

Everyone, back to the topic of the thread please

appalling behaviour

The appalling behaviour is that of obnoxious, aroagnt foreigners such as the PF's Anglo-expats trying to tell Poles what topics they may include at commemroations and in general how they should run their country. They are reminiscent of the coarse and crude dinner guest who complains about the food, spills the gravy, burps, breaks wind and barfs of the table. Moral fo the story:

state owned property worth tens of millions

You mean the Sejm building?

use of state owned property

You are the only person in Poland constantly banging on about this. or that his late father bought a house. I have heard nothing about that whatsoever. But you have never once mentioned the very numerous judaeo-commie killers and torturers of the nation who all had nice homes, chauffeur-driven cars, bodyguards, maids, butlers, speical yellow-curtain shops for commie bigshots -- the lot. And there were loads of them: Michnik, Berman, Fejgin, Romkowski, Różański. Brystygierowa, Mietkowski, Czaplicki, Światło, Minc and the list goes on and on. Many hid behind phoney Polish surnames like Różański (Goldberg), Czaplicki (Kurc), Światło (Fleischfarb) and Romkowski (Natan Grynszpan-Kikiel) to mention but a few. They were never punished and their victims were never reimbursed.

If you say that is off-topic, then ask yourself: what does someone's home or helicopter ride have to do with the probe of the crooked Gronkiewicz administration at city hall? Unless you mention their abuses like some post-Jewish property her husband's family got their hands on, that too is off-topic!

more of a disgrace

And the authors of that disgrace were those in power -- the commie-KOR-ite clique operating under different flags, logos and names (SLD, UD, UW, PSL, AWS, PO) but essentially the same post-Magdelenka establishment that struck a backroom deal behind the backs of the Polish people and thought they would enjoy the resultant perks and privilege indefintiely.

state-owned property at knockdown prices

Does that include dictators such as Gomułka, Gierek and Jaruzelski who were formally only party leaders* but got to live in palaces and mansions free of charge?

*Jaruzelski made himself PM while anticipating his martial-law aggression on the Polish people.

idiocy and arrogance

Idiocy and arrogance of Tusk and his paid stooges. Lets' recall how he did everything possible to be in the liemlight and prevent the president from even attending, altough it is heads of state who officiate at such observances. When Tusk found the president was determined to go he did everyhting to minimise, sidetrack and marginalise Kaczyński's presence. PO hacks even involved the Russian embassy which announced that Kaczyżski had not applied for a visa, although heads of state do not stand in visa queues. But the average person does not know that so it enabled the PO propanda section to once again smear Poland's head of state. It was laughable for a PM to elbow his way onto centre stage, since such interaitonal commerations are always presided over by heads of state. It is always PM-PM or President-President, never PM-Preisdent (Tusk-Putin).

Let's see what "clever" repartee you come up with this time to whitewash Tusk, one of the seediest villains of post-communist Poland.

he did what was righ

Being a big fan of the PC dictatorship I cna see where you believe censorhsip is "right" when someone voices an opinion you disagree with. You need not provide more evidence of your blinkerdom, bias and bigotry which comes through in nearly every post.

did what was right

Back on topic please

He was told either Smolensk or no army.

That is called an ultimatum -- something a decent host never imposes on a guest, unless he's a boor, clod or Platformer party hack.

The Lord Mayor of Poznań can start counting his days, because after the next council election he will land on the dust heap of history. The people of Poznań have seen through the cheap propaganda and trickery of the PO and their paid stooges. PiS are the wave of the future -- a Poland of decency and true patriotism!

PiS does not have an economic mode

Au contraire, PiS' Morawiecki plan is based on re-autonomising or repolonising teh economy, creatign indigenous entrepreneurship, Polish enterprises, designs, brands and retail chains that will hopefully limit foreign investments attracted solely by cheap manpower and foreign retailers siphoning their profits back home. That goes hand in hand with the establishment of vocational schooling which had been largely neglected in recent decades. Admittedly it's a very ambitious programme, but it's about time it has finally been launched. As Kaczyński put it at yesterday's covenntion, the injustices of the Balcerowicz plan must be replaced by the Morawiecki plan serving the entire nation.

The bill will be very high when it comes due.

We have heard this all along -- doomsday predictions, wishful thinking, PiS won't last more than a few months, bla bla, etc., etc. Well, they're in their 9th month and going strong. One thing you do not understand. PiS are for the Polsih nation, not a quarter or a fifth who constitute the post-PRL elite, PO's constituency. They have lost a lot and stand to lose more, so their fear and disdain are understandable. But that will not stop the good-change government of Jarosław Kaczyński. Those wishing he would trip up say he should be PM, but he hasn't fallen into that trap again. As PM he would be bombarded by issues and daily events which could easily overwhelm. As a backseat strategist, he has a broad overview of the situation and can easily correct errors or modify policies as required without being bogged down by daily concerns. That arrangement was a stroke of genius. That is why Kaczyński is Poland's most powerful and influential poltical leader.

the privations of the late 1970s and 1980s)

The privations, shops emtpied of goods in the early 1980s were the direct result of Wałęsa's insistence that every worker should get an extra 2000 zł. The regime conceded for the skae of social peace, bute everyone knew that was a catastrophic move. People now had loads of cash but it broke the consumer market as people bought out everything in sight. Thta episode is somehow forgotten nowadays.

Buying loyalty

You and your mates can do all the badmouthing you want, but only the Polsih nation can jduge. And suppprt for PiS is growing. Petru was down to 6% support recently when PiS got 41%. Doesn't that tell you something. By contrast, the loudmouth KODists are being increasingly sidelined and ignored by ordinary Poles who are sick of the boring marches and endless TK blather.

Mayor of Poznan

He is one #!%&$X=?%! A civilised host does not prevent an invited guest speaker delivering the speech of his choosing. Such PRL-style censorhip simply shows how the PO regime has always been part and parcel of the post-PRL clique that has ruled under different names for 24 years. The only bright interludes were the 1992 Olszewski cabinet and the 2-year PiS-led governemnt. The rest of the time most everything served the clique and their foreign-interest-group masters. Far too many ordinary Poles had two choices: contractual junk jobs in Poland or washing up in London pubs.

So toxic

Toxic to a niche group of expat anarcho-libertines and left-wingers and the post-PRL bandwagon gang whose world of undeserved privilege ended last October. But beloved by the Polish nation, the real salt-of-the-earth, patritotic, Catholic Poles, and they are the ones who count. Your fantasy

If that is untrue, then the dispossessed post-PO clique -- the Michniks (whose govt subscriptions have been slashed), the Jandas now getting a fraction of the subsidies she got under PO, the PRL military OAPs concerend baotu theri fatcat pensions, the pro-PO media types (Lis, Kraśko, Olejnik et al), entertianers and academics shoudl all be in PiS. Everyone knows they're not, They are defending the PO-era status quo -- a time when all doors opened to PRL-rooted schemers, scamsters and assorted wheeler-dealer types.

Today Kaczyski was re-elecetd for another 3-year term. 1008 delegates voted for him all but unanymously (8 opposed and 1 abstention). Kaczyński said PiS is here to change all the bad things that went on since 1989, and support for PiS is growing. So you can badmouth him and PiS all you want, but your are out of sync with the heartbeat of the nation . You only hobnob and empathise with the dispossessed PO/KOD clique whose time has ended.

Merged: PO and KODist plants disrupt anniversary of 1956 Poznań Uprising

PO and KOD stooges planted in the audience apparemtly in collusion with the PO-dominated Poznań town hall did everything possible to disrupt the 60th anniversary of the Poznań bread & freedom protests in which the commie regime gunned down dozens of Poznanians.

When President Duda was paying tribute to those who rose up and gave their lives for a better, freer life, the PO and KOD stooges began jeering, booing and whistling. They also flashed identical red cards supplied by the same source, presumably the mayor's office. The mayor himself had a personal hand in sabotaging what should otherwise have been a solemn commemoration. He refused to admit an army band to play the national anthem.Amif the commotion he cynically said he would do so only if the defence minister sent him a personal request to that effect.

The bottom line is that today's anti-government opposition has no class, decency, taste or sense of decorum and will go to all lengths to spew their vile attacks on the people-friendly government. Even if it means desecrating the memory of thsoe who gave their lives that Poland might some day be free- Shame on those cowardly scumbags!

The enemies of the Polish nation you mean. Like TW Oscar (Tusk) and TW Litwin (Komorowski), those stage-directing the Ambergold scandal, motorway tender-fixing, the gambling scam, the tape affair, and many more. The audits have been conducted and little by little all the PO's irregularities and offences will be duly investigated and the guilty brought to justice. The scale of those trasngression is so immense that someone's silly little helicopter ride is but a joke in comparison.

Ciemnogrod squad

But it is the opposite constituency, your beloved "Jasnogród", those shining beacons of post-PRL scamsterism, ministerial kids, occupational dynasties and other benificiaries of the commie-KORite cabal that are now up a creek without a paddle. All their pavement-pounding, ranting, hate speech and snitching hasn't amounted to a hill of beans. A group fo them were on Meller's talking heads this weekend venting their spleen on PiS, And is it's no wonder why. Their whole world of perks, privileges, cushy appointments, prestigious awards, lucrative contracts, fatcat pensions and other goodies previously reserved for the Magdalenka clique has fallen through. And all they can do is simmer, seeth. spit and watch the goings on from behind a glass pane. Must be bloody frustrating for them!

Meanwhile, public support for PiS is growing, the good-change government is working apace for the benefit of the Polish nation and has plenty of PO-era scams and iregularities to follow up on. Most likely we will soon learn about Tusk's

links to the Ambergold affair.

he reckless killing of 96 people by the ego of one man

For once I agree with you. It was the sick ego and bloated ambiton of PM Tusk who did everything to stay in the limelight and undermine the president's Katyń commemoration plans that may have been behind the tragedy. His aide Arabski went on trial for neglectful and shodddy (deliberate, on orders from the PM?) preparation of the presidential flight. It is widely believed that Tusk conspired with Putin in the affair. When the Tupolev was crashing to the ground at Smolensk, Tusk and and Putin were busy bear-hugging one another near the Katyń memorial.

P.S. Funny you didn't add "Is this the thread for discussing 'Anti-Corruption Bureau investigates Warsaw city hall'?" when you introduced the Smolensk theme and the monument controversy, neither of which directly relate to city hall's alleged financial irregularites.
