Travel / Indian or Mexican food in Warsaw. [60]

I think the medical records of myself

I got ill too, after my last visit there, my guest also. A shame, because it used to be nice, and it was my friend's first experience of Indian food.

Travel / Indian or Mexican food in Warsaw. [60]

A lot of food critics and locals claim it offers the finest Indian cuisin

It used to be great until about three years ago, but then it really went down. The atmosphere's nice, but the food is tragic.

for Indian food avoid Tandoor Palace

I agree. They used to be OK but the standards have really slipped. Last time I went there the food was dire. The 'Curry Club' seem to go there out of a combination of habit and location.

and Maharaja

This one always used to be my preferred choice - some very good food. Maybe it's changed since I was last there. Lately I've been going to Arti instead.

Arti, on al. Jerozolimskie between pl. Zawiszy and pl. Starynkiewicza is good - authentic food, very nice service. The little pots that they serve food in can be irritating, but it tastes good. I also like the small branch of Namaste on Nowogrodzka, the fact that it's hard to get a table can only be a good sign.

Buddha Bar on Nowy Swiat looks interesting - has anyone been there?

For Mexican, there aren't many choices. The Tortilla Factory is good (though they sometimes have very loud music). There's a nice place on al. Ujazdowskie, but expensive and very variable.

Real Estate / Cost of a two-bedroom apartment and living in Wroclaw? (For purchase) [11]

Depends a lot on the area and state of the flat, but for 80sqm in my area, very close to the centre for a flat in reasonable condition it would probably be about 2700 to 3000 plus bills.

More in the very centre, less somewhere like Wawer or Ursus which involve travelling. More if the building and decor were in first-class condition with parking and security, less for a very long term let.

and do like i did,

i bothered to find out about them from their website

hmmm

not some UAF run webshite

Who?

Yeh you've been in everything, as far as your concerned there isn't anything you haven't seen or done.

Some of us have had many years of living life to the full - and too much in our lives to obsess about people of different colours.

David_Copeland

You seem to know his name which is more than most. What do you think of Mark Collett, an ex-neighbour of mine? Or Martin Webster, Nick Griffin's ex-lover? Interesting people.

i wouldn't have any quarms about voting for them

Couldn't give a toss if they are racist

Says it all really. Come on, admit it, you want them to do well.

Don't know about you bud but i didn't have any say in it

You didn't have a vote in the last election? Why not? The usual reasons are being under 18, in jail or insane.

Well in reality 99.9% of all asylum seekers (succesfull or not) are illegal as they haven't followed the UN charter that states they must claim asylum in the first safe country they enter.
Maybe you should take some of your advice jonni and put your brain into gear.

Why do you think only 0.1% have come direct to the UK? Some sources please, not just racist hearsay.

And you didn't answer the question, relating to this thread (and forum). What is the BNP's policy on Polish migrants to the UK?

USA, Canada / Most common ancestries in the USA [56]

Me too, especially in New England, and Scots in the MidWest. That map shows only the first place - perhaps they were in second place in a lot of states.

USA, Canada / Most common ancestries in the USA [56]

(I assume you mean the number of members of a certain national group, right?) guaranties the highest percentage too but if you mean something else please explain it

State of (for example) North Mexiginia, 10 million inhabitants, 1 million (for example) Poles, 10%. State of Nevifornia, 2 million inhabitants, 1 million Poles, 50%.

USA, Canada / Most common ancestries in the USA [56]

Is that most common ancestries by number or by percentage?

There seems a lot of blue, but somewhere like North Dakota looks huge on the map and somewhere like New Jersey looks small, but the populations are very different.

considering most of them are ex-servicemen

Can you back that up? And how would you know about "most of them"? Interesting...

stop getting all irate about the BNP

Who's irate? I think it was you who mention them most of the time. By the way, what's their policy on Polish migrant workers?

I think your reffering to that guy that was once a member of the BNP, so i suppose that means the BNP was behind it then :D

I was "reffering" to Gordon Brown, but since you mention it, the nail bomber was a BNP member.

Can you tell me my fortune

Wait until election day. By the way, if you won the lottery, what would you spend it on?

Yes aweful places that are clean, modern, meals provided

Have you been in one? I have.

but the BNP have been the fastest growing political party for some time.

There you go again, about the BNP. You seem to know a lot about them - first you say you would have "absolutely no qualms" about voting for them, now you seem to know about their membership figures. Have you had any contact with them?

many things that we never had before, like virtual ghettos, no go areas

Do you think we've never had "virtual ghettos" or "no go areas" before?

to force natives into accepting foreigners

"Forced" in what way?

simply because they hate what Britain has become

I've got a feeling that when it comes to the crunch they'll choose UKIP or English Democrats. Even old left-wingers are unhappy. The level of immigration is a shock, but since the world is changing very fast, too fast for a lot of people, my feeling is that we should get it over with now.

once affluent and then turned in to tish hole

This has always been the case - areas come and go. Manchester has really improved since I was there. Mind you that was twenty years ago.

I lived in Whally Range for 12 months and wasnt comfortable going out on my own in day light! There were 2 drive-by shootings in the time I lived there

I know what you mean. I worked for years in Bradford, in an almost entirely Pakistani district. It was a bit of a culture shock, but those areas weren't half as scary as some of the poorer white districts. There was a Caribbean area (Chapeltown in Leeds) that I used to have to spend time in -an established counity and a lot of gun crime. That area still has its moments but is slowly improving.

I think thats why they keep the house prices in Chorlton so high :D

Chorlton's nice! I lived in a 'white-flight' area (not as nice as Chorlton) and was burgled several times - almost certainly by locals. After moving to a more mixed area (lots of Poles there these days) I had no problems. The difference was that (as in Manchester) huge resources had been expended on integration.

jarnowa

You'd be surprised how comfortably some people live in African and Asian countries. The most primitive and desperate don't get a chance to travel as far as their own capital, let alone Britain. Those who do are generally people with some nouse and resources.

People who claim asylum do so on political grounds - they are often their countries' intellectual elite. Most of the men are educated - probably better so than you...

According to British guys i spoke, they are definitely growing.

You speak to some interesting people. Where did you meet them?

Interesting how you've tried to divert a discussion about foreign (including Polish) workers in the UK to the only topic you discuss here - your dislike for dark-skinned people.

If you really support a backlash against immigrants, then as an immigrant yourself, you should be very, very careful.

they lived in worse conditions in their own country.

How would you know what conditions somebody lived in in their "own country"? Unless you assume all non-Europeans live in mud huts like your ancestors.

if they need something they should pay for it.

An ill, disabled, redundant person should pay for everything? Are you planning on growing old, or have you swallowed the elixir of youth?

BNP is growing like cabbage

They aren't growing. A few mid-term votes in depressed areas. Hardly "cabbage".

British multi-ethnic society is succesful

Yes. It is successful.

what's wrong with a hostel

You fancy living in one then?

i said that immigrants benefit more than natives.

The whole point is that the person is irrelevant, the need is everything. Don't you understand that.

you are very funny indeed! :D

Whereas you are cynically racist. What part of society don't you understand?

i read in UK asylum seekers also get free houses

Most are in nasty hostels.

benefits. it's paid from tax money. natives, having lived longer in the country than immigrants, probably have paid more to the taxman than immigrants. again immigrants benefit more.

Everybody pays tax and is entitled to something back. Are you saying that no white people are benefit scroungers?

welfare is free money per definition.

It's part of commonweal, to maintain society. British society is multi-ethnic, and successfully so, compared to so many other places.

i don't like that they are also against immigration from Poland, but they will never be able to stop that, so no problem

Actually they want to do exactly that.

But they won't have any impact on immigration or anything else because they will do so badly in the next election that they will lose their deposit in every seat.

getting it chipped in Poland

Any of those small private phone shops (there must be a dozen in Dworzec Centralny) will take off the simlock for about 15zl.

News / More drug-drivers than drink-drivers in Poland [7]

you worry about pot smoking drivers?? Pick your battles carefully

Depends a lot on the person. On some it calms and steadies. On others it dulls reactions. And on daily large scale stoners, it can have a very nasty effect.

The pill poppers scare the hell out of me.

Me too. Twitching down the motorway.

realistic

Cynical and bitter. For sure something bad must have happened to you.

free houses, free lawyers, welfare, etc.

Nobody gets free houses. The poorest, regardless of ethnicity can get housing benefit on the basis of need.
Free lawyers? Are you mad? Check out what happened to the legal aid scheme - it is means tested.
Welfare? This isn't free.

compared to what they get back it's nothing.

Can you cite some evidence for that?

like what?

It's you who mentioned "freebies". So tell us some real ones.

Given the widespread corruption (expenses for one thing) in the HP i don't think a couple more would make much difference.

Claiming too much expenses for kitchen units, duck ponds, whisky etc. on the one hand and child molesting, racial attacks, bomb making etc. on the other. A wee bit different. What we've got now isn't perfect, but they are angels compared to some of the Numpty Nazis in the BNP.

You are staggeringly cynical and bitter.

Aren't they too a part of society?

So what about a response to these questions:

giving a lot of freebies to immigrants from tax money earned by native Brits.

What do you mean by "freebies"? Do tell.

And what about tax revenue earned from immigrants? Or "freebies" given to native Brits?

They won't get even within a sniff of power, but if by some collective slip of the pen on illions of ballot papers, there'd probably be riots and mass civil disobedience. Fascism can only work by force, and they don't have that.

There'd also be a flood of capital out of the country and economic instability.

Their policies on Ireland (bringing it back into the UK) would gain them a few enemies too.
