Life / Millennials even worse than baby-boomers? [60]

the Polish constitution some time

Doesnt take away the fact that Christ has been installed as the king of Poland and as such you should show some respect to the willl of the people and your new king.

"I've got other passports to choose from,"

So you are saying you have plenty of bolt holes to run to at the first sign of trouble.

The old story, I cant serve my country because I have no idea which passport to choose, you should get them combined into one that says Libtardland.

Liblanders much worse than Boomers and Millennials put together.

EU citizens can't be deported from Poland;

This will probably change for Resident UK expat Brexiteers, one wrong brush with the Polish authorities and it may mean deportation, the same might also be true fo errant Poles in the UK, It kind of makes sense to be able to get rid of cretins.

Now you have to be kidding Johnny, Harold fighting for his country? first you would have to find "His country", Its not the UK, he aint happy with Poland.

Just imagine the arguments he would have with anyone in authority over him.

Harry needs his own special country, we need to create a new one for him to rule over.

News / Poland And the Pope: Not Happening, Apparently [58]

bought a new car worth 120,000 zloty

It is suprising how many people go on about the value of the priests car, he provides an invaluable service to the parish, and to many catholics matters of the soul are as important as their health, he should not have to worry about starting a 20 year old banger in the middle of winter when he is going to perform the last rights and console a grieving family.

Would you want an Ambuance service that used clapped out old bangers that would break down and fail to reach a patient?

News / What impact will Donald Trump's election have on Poland? [331]

Agreed, but unless a President controls Congress and the Senate, he cannot achieve anything,

I would say he neded the support of neither of the above to march rally uplift and send out a message of reconcilliation and unity, he did none of this he played golf.

with him apparently being in bed with Putin

Well lets hope he doesn't resort to childish playground beaviour like the idiot below.

The coldest handshake: Barack Obama and Vladimir Putin photographed in brief frosty exchange at Peru summit - amid angry clash over Syria and Russian support for Trump

A president needs to remain professional first and foremost, otherwise wars could soon follow.

I think Barack was always at his best down the golf course

So much wasted potential , he could have spent that time (as the first black american president) to help heal the racial divide in America , Martin Luther would turn in his grave.

I for one am disappointed at this wasted opportunity in history.

Trump and his policies won't affect people/countries outside the US.

I hope the trumpster will focus on US domestic issues, make some kind of peace with the bear in the east and generaly keep his nose out of the rest of the world.

Travel / Driving from UK to Poland in Christmas Time - winter tyres? [46]

M and S marks are not genuine winter tyres unless the three peaks (winter symbol) is also marked on the sidewall.

The law pertaining to the display of M+S markings with the three peaks (Winter symbol) does not come into play until 2018

Travel / Driving from UK to Poland in Christmas Time - winter tyres? [46]

The M and S marks are not genuine winter tyres unless the three peaks (winter symbol) is also marked on the sidewall.

Three peaks is only a recommendation

The new law also spells out what a "winter tire" is. Specifically, it is an M+S-Reifen, a mud-and-snow tire that has an official M+S (Matsch und Schnee) marking on it. (M+S tires do not have to be "winter" tires. All-year or all-weather M+S tires also qualify.) The German automobile club ADAC recommends going a step further and getting tires with the "three-peak-mountain" seal, an indication of snow tires that meet the highest standards.

Life / Millennials even worse than baby-boomers? [60]

baby-boomers were a generation of spoiled, selfish, instant-gratifcation-seeking brats

Are you talking about people aged between the age of 52 and 70 according to wiki, you must be a few years from being a brat yourself.

As for Millennials it;s just another name to marginalize and berate another group of people as you have above with boomers.

Is there no end to your nit picking

Jews
Women
gays
boomers
millennials

Anyone else want to add to the list.

Come on pol stick to helping people out with Polish and their heritage, history etc, (which you are good at ) all the above stuff is just silly.

Law / DUI/DWI (Driving under alcohol influence) as a foreign with residence in Poland (and other issues) [27]

Which would automatically be a custodial prison sentence, also it would impact your residency status in Poland as you will be a criminal.

A Very good point that I had missed, driving without a valid licence on top of DUI (Not exchanged for a polish one in required time) will mean time in jail

Plus a criminal record, future citizen application will be difficult for sure.

Law / DUI/DWI (Driving under alcohol influence) as a foreign with residence in Poland (and other issues) [27]

maybe some jail time

The fact that you cannot produce a valid driving licence will aggravate your case, no licence and DUI will probably mean jail time in Poland.

Is there any way you can get a replacement licence from your home country? A Polish court will not accept your evidence alone you need to show a valid license.

Because of the high incidence of death caused by DUI in Poland the courts are giving out tough sentences, one guy recently got ten years because it was his second offence.

Having documentation in Poland is very important there is a fine for not carrying it, I always make sure I have mine, I am a Polish citizen, but I must carry it at all times.

You will be fined and maybe some jail time, but stop for a moment, and think what if you had killed or maimed someone due to your stupidity, you don't need to go to hospital because of pepper spray in your eyes, you went to hospital under the advice from your lawyer to get a piece of paper in the hope of a payout, man up learn a lesson from this ,do your time pay your fine, DONT DO IT AGAIN.

Travel / Driving from UK to Poland in Christmas Time - winter tyres? [46]

More than bodyshop bill , it's his family at stake, AgataDas I have made the same trip many times and I have a place in Austria which requires snow tyres, where I am in lower Silesia it's Ice that is the biggest problem, that's where the winters come into play.

Do what I did look on Ebay, plenty of people have bought winters as a one off and sell them cheap after use, just make sure you have 4 mm minimum and the year stamp is no older than five years, you can always put em back on ebay on your return.

All being said the long term forecast is for a mild winter, so you might be ok, who knows.

After experiencing my 3 ton 4x4 4 matic with every electronic gizmo known to man go sideways towards a ditch while driving at a snails pace with all season tyres on I will be sticking to full on winters.
