Feedback / What makes an excellent forum? [119]

I am tired of the personal abuse

You shouldn't have to put up with that, and it is the job of the mods to make sure no one (Unless they instigate abuse) has to suffer it.

As to the other crap yes there are people who are concerned/obsessed about certain issues be it religious or racial, but you can't set out to change people , not everyone wants a open multicultural / multi faith society and they get angry when they see it creeping in to their lives, but they have the right to feel that way, as much as those who wish to see a world without borders.

If things take a turn on a topic and you are not happy with it just do as Bratwurst or as I do now and just say "I'm out of here" you can always return later when things have calmed down.

As to pictures I also could do with help maybe a mod could post a "How to" set of instructions, same with vids and smiley icons.

I'm sure that you would consider coming back on a more regular basis if there wasn't so much crap on here.

Well why don't you focus on joining in on the interesting threads and just ignore the off topic stuff that you call crap.

As they say one mans meat is another mans poison.

There is plenty here and in real life that I don't like, I just either make my position clear or ignore that which offends me.

Try the Poland in pictures thread it's fun, you must have some holiday snaps you can post as a brain teaser?

Work / Business in Poland - should I expect some dirty tricks? [26]

All of the above and 100 times more.

Really ?, that is not my experience of living in Poland and Dubai, in fact there are similarities when it comes to bureaucracy and dealing with workers.

But as any businessman knows these issues can come into play in any new setup, the key is that the OP will be in the driving seat and employ the right local people to get things done.

All I can say is that Poles in Poland can be as cute hardworking and capable as Indians are in Dubai.

Language / What do foreigners find the hardest part of Polish? [63]

I think its simpler to learn the immigrant way, well it's kind of worked for me on my travels, no way would I have any interest in sitting in language class., once in country , sains plomb , my first french lesson for example.

Language / What do foreigners find the hardest part of Polish? [63]

Now that is an interesting point cos when you are a kid born to a polish family you have no concept of "structure etc" but yet you learn the language quite easily as a kid, but in later life it is far harder to learn a foreign language and structure becomes important all of a sudden.

Interesting, I don't understand Polish or English language structure, but I can speak both at a rudimentary level.

History / Poland and Israel getting back on the right foot...maybe [132]

Đolno,I am sure you noticed how Lyzko ignored your question.....

It's the elephant in the room, and a question that I would rather not have been forced to ask, I wish people could move on, I have.

is obliged both legally and certainly morally to compensate any loss of property

So you are for paying for my family losses at Jewish-Soviet hands in the east?

Do you deny the above?

For the record I am not anti Jewish quite the opposite, but these calls for reparations from people that were not even born during that time is not right nor fair, this stupidity is causing resentment and division, we should all be working together to build a better future for our children and grandchildren.

When Poland decides to come clean and admit that they weren't all angels

I think Poland has admitted the above , and from what I know we were not all angels , but lyzko not all jews were angels either, my family knows that first hand, the good that took in the crops for my grandfather and the bad that helped deport my parents.

I dont know what you need for all this to stop , I want a better future, the Jewish survivors who I spoke with told me to be a part of that future, Jeeze the way you hammer away you are turning people against your cause, i'm doing my best to focus on what the survivors told me and not your constant Poland bashing.

The kids in Poland today know nothing about our Jewish heritage, I myself am just beginning to learn more such as the soviet backlash against the Jews in the sixties, I am more worried about my British homeland that is slipping down a slope of antisemitism.

History / Poland and Israel getting back on the right foot...maybe [132]

I have just given up with you on this subject because of your narrow minded, blinkered and biased mentality.

His mission is to generate fresh division, mistrust and antisemitism.

Why he does it, one can only wonder why.

History / If Poles were antisemitic, would they ...? [240]

Three choices, 1 stay and be part of a German puppet government, 2 commit suicide, 3 go into Exile and build a free army to attempt to regain Polands freedom.

Anyway lets get back on topic here.

History / If Poles were antisemitic, would they ...? [240]

The french Government yes Frenchmen put 76000 Jews on trains and waved them away to Auschwitz, only 3000 survived

And Poland at the same time had no capitulating government or polish companies profiteering from those poor souls gets all the $hit from Israel.

bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-30351196

Anyone know how many Jews, Poles are accused of murdering, 10,20,30,40,50,60,70 thousand millions? Whats the number whats tthe price , the French paid $60 Million.

Any Idea what my 20 war dead family are worth?, 1zl 2 zl 1 million, It won't bring them back.

Stop concentrating on "If Poles were" whats important is now , how we deal with antisemitism today, are we doing enough to educate people so antisemitism is no more.

I figure most hope for some reprochement

No point maybe it's time to cut all ties and hold meetings in country that might be friendly to Poland Iran for instance.

After all the Iranian people helped many thousands of Poles who were release from Jewish run gulags in the USSR.

Life / Would Poles prefer US or UK medical care? [112]

Besides the doctor pushing his private patients

If you get a chance visit the car park at your local nuffield (private) hospital , the same consultants that work the nhs also work there but check out the Aston Martins.

I know one the drives his Aston to the private hospital but uses the wife's Golf at the NHS, Its all wrong I know:)

Life / Would Poles prefer US or UK medical care? [112]

someone who doesn't like to be told what to do (even if it's legitimate advice e.g. lifestyle)

No I don't mind being told what to to or to be given advice, I learned a long time ago that to listen was the best asset i had, that has held me in good stead throughout my life.

The fact is that due to financial pressure in the healthcare systems you are judged / triage d based on your lifestyle, so if you are overweight smoke and drink you have little chance of being anywhere near the top of what is usually a waiting list.

If you pay, you are not judged and get sorted rapido.

Rapido works for me every time.

thousands go bankrupt every year in order to pay medical 'bills'

Well that is the downside, if you have no provision to pay you are in real trouble.

Life / Would Poles prefer US or UK medical care? [112]

there is nothing worse than a medic who treats the patient as client.

Where do you get your healthcare, my experience in the UK and Poland healthcare system is that you are treated as a little child, or cattle on a conveyor belt.

Well until you pay that is, I get to see the same doctors and consultants but I get a cup of tea in my hand , have a handshake when we meet and I am treated respectfully by all the staff.

I pay into the healthcare systems but I avoid them like the plague, better to pay cash private if you have it.

History / Why are Jews pestering Poland for "proper" WW2 monetary restitution/reparations? [750]

Begs the question why Poland is always in the firing line, The french capitulated with the Germans their french run railways took tens of thousands of Jews to the gas chamber.

How do we live with this racist "milk of our mothers" slander from such a senior politician, do we ready ourselves for war, invasion, are we now the untermenschen in the eyes of the Jews.
