Love / Any Polish Muslim girls living in Poland? [103]

Your english is not great, what country did are you from. Why not say? I do not care what religion you are, but if you want help then you need to give more details. Would you be moving here with your husband, as islam does not allow women to go out alone, drive, or have telephone.

If your Polish, are you not going to miss the great sausage, bacon and pork?

Caminoreal your just a puppet, why not stop writing post's in numerous name's. I don't hate american's, but I do hate people that decide to disrespect the country that is providing them with a living or education.

This Whymedschool guy has a real chip on his shoulder about Poland. This is his reply to another thread

"Living in Poland can be a real huge pain in the ass. There are no words to describe how bad the bureaucracy is - I have seen people reduced to tears by it. You will go crazy for the first while trying to sort everything out. When it comes to Polish people you will find they are either extremely friendly and open, or the exact opposite. They don't try to hide their feelings, and if they are an ******* on the inside, they will show it on the outside - and this goes from your everyday thug on the street to the cashier in your local grocery store. Don't be surprised by the attitude, rather expect it. Also, you will get a lot of looks and that is also something to prepare for. Best of luck, I hope it works out."

I think I know why he is posting here. "Also I'm bored of studying." He has this posted on another thread, maybe he is afraid of telling his daddy that he wants to go home early

By the way, if he is from Canada, what will he do when a french speaking citizen is admitted to him in Canada. When you move to another country, you are meant to adjust yourself to its culture and way of doing things.

Mexico is not part of northern america, It depends on who you ask, maybe border control will say no.#

What about the fact that the op thinks that mexico is in north america? The op did not have the guts to go for the exam in their own country(30% pass rate to get in to class). They then give out about the pass rates of the course they take in a different country.

If the op wants to go back to Canada as a Doc, then they will have to pass a conversion test.

Travel / Best way to get from Krakow to Katowice for 10.40 am flight.... [9]

apart from a taxi transfer(around 200zl) you could check out wizz air, they do transfers from the central bus station(I think). If its at night time there is less public transport to airport. You could get a train to Katowice, but then the airport is about 25 mins outside katowice. Any good driver should get you from krakow to Katowice airport in less than an hour unless you hit very heavy traffic.

I normally use krakowshuttle, they are very polite, they arrive on time and the 200zl can be for up to 4 people.

Law / GBP safe haven currency for 2012. [5]

The problem with the GBP, is that it is connected to the EURO. The GBP relies on Europe to buy most of its goods, its banks are up to their neck in lending to Europe. You need to pick a ccy that is not connected with Europe. My bet would be the AUD,NZD or even CAD.

Life / Does Polish society accept new people especially those not from Poland [41]

The father in law was a manager on the moneypoint power station, he told me that he had to sack 2 Polish guys who showed up drunk one day. That was out of a polish workforce of 100+. Some of the people that started there, quit there job and opened a Polish shop in Kilkee

Life / Does Polish society accept new people especially those not from Poland [41]

This happened to my in laws, the grand father offered the workers a beer one day, when the father in law found out he went crazy. He said only offer them a beer when they have finished the work. Also, he said someone needs to look over them all day.

Life / Does Polish society accept new people especially those not from Poland [41]

When I arrived in a small village about 30 mins outside Katowice I was treated like a star. We went to the only bar in the area, and this massive skinhead just started talking to me when he heard that i was not a polish. For our wedding, the whole village helped out, with B&B's(no hotels) helping us, we had booked up every room in the village.

When I go to Krakow, some of the people are a bit more busy, but in Katowice center I find them really helpfull. I found the police really helpfull when looking for directions and such.

Life / Program on DMAX 'Trouble in Poland' [2]

Hey Guys, just watching a program on DMAX titled Trouble in Paradise, attacked in Poland. Its about a couple returning to their apartment in Warsaw(the guy is Aussie, girl Polish), they see 4 guys drinking outside the entrance of their block and they get talking to them. Then the 4 guys beat the crap out of the guy, try to rape the girl, but the aussie guy stops them. When the police arrive they try to arrest the Aussie guy. The Aussie guy then gets in trouble with the Polish mafia for identifying the guys that attacked them. I'am sure this is a isolated attack.

What do you think

Travel / Poland traffic signs are confusing.. Do you agree? [30]

its not confusing at all, if someone is walking on the zebra you stop. I find it useful that they show a amber light before green. As a general rule in traffic, if you see a gap you go for it. You just need to keep the speed the same as around you and keep an eye on out before you make your move.

Life / Poles hard working or just born lazy. [58]

My Polish father in law has taken up jobs outside of Poland for the last 25 years so he could provide for his family and send the kids to uni. As a bonus, he managed to build a second house in the mountains by hand, it took 4 years but what a house

Work / Moving and working in PL as a teacher (near Zory/Katowice) [53]

I was just saying that studying ACCA while doing something else would give you better prospects. You do not need to work in accounts to do the ACCA, but to get fully qualified you do need to have 3 years of work in accounts.

If you do decide to go for it, here are a few things that might keep you sane. The cinema's in the main shopping center in Katowice show some films(maybe most of them) in English with Polish subtitle's.

RTE now stream all of the Irish football on line, also the GAA matches.

If you work hard, and take on extra lessons yourself, then maybe you make a bit of money.

Can I ask if you are qualified in anything, if not, could you study for ACCA exams in Poland. English teaching would be okay for a few years, but it would help you to have a plan to have a job that you like instead of just for the money.

I'am in Dublin at the moment, if you want to meet and have a chat about life in Poland for a irish guy let me know.
