Food / No Vernor's ginger ale in Poland? [29]

Not really---This Polak enjoys his Allsorts which are a mixture of candy and licorice. There are in the mixture solid licorice pieces---and guess which ones I like the best---the all licorice pieces.

Food / No Vernor's ginger ale in Poland? [29]

I think it's because of it's distinct taste. Not too many people like it even here in North America.I can't see myself even using it as a mixer but I do enjoy the flavour once in a while.

Food / WHY IN POLAND PEOPLE DON'T USE ICE? [142]

Last time I was in Poland I came upon the same problem---warm beer---so when I was visiting family in the small towns and wjoski,I decided to try cooling off the beer in the studnia (well).I'd put the beer in the water bucket and let the beer sit in the ice cold water.Voila!!!!I had cold beer .It worked so well that to this day they still keep on doing it.

Food / WHY IN POLAND PEOPLE DON'T USE ICE? [142]

Here in Canada we have fridges that make ice and store it.No need for plastic trays--pouring water in them-breaking ice apart. It's all done automatically. What a good invention!!!!!No bother ---no fuss

Polish laid noodles/dumplings (Kluski kladzione)
This is a recepie consisting of only flour and eggs. The noodles/dumplings are formed by a spoon and boiled in water for a really tasty side dish or a meal on their own.

USA, Canada / Polonian or Polish food in America better? [26]

With all the varieties of food that we have here, the Polish people that emigrated to North America, have a greater choice of better quality meats, produce, fuits and vegetables to make the their famous tried and true recepies such as goląbki, pierogi ,sernik etc.I have been over in Poland years ago and found that just finding the items to make their specialties was a chore and they had to make do with what they could find if they could afford it.Yet,here the abaundance and variety and low cost,it's very easy to make the best of all the famous Polish recepies.

Life / Why many funny stories about Polish People in Europe? [38]

Here is a good one :----A Polak wanted to learn how to sky dive. He got an instructor and started lessons. The instructor told the Polak to jump out of the plane and pull his rip cord. The instructor then explained that he himself would jump out right behind him so that they would go down together. The Polak understood and was ready.

The time came to have the Polak jump from the air plane. The instructor reminded the Polak that he would be right behind him. The Polak proceeded to jump from the plane and after being in the air for a few seconds pulled the rip cord. The instructor followed by jumping from the plane. The instructor pulled his rip cord but the parachute did not open. The instructor, frantically trying to get his parachute open, darted past the Polak.

The Polak seeing this yelled, as he undid the straps to his parachute, "So you wanna race, eh?"
