News / The chances for Warsaw to become capital of eventual Slavic confederation? [183]

Seanus

Ćevapèići arrived to the Balkans during the Ottoman Turks expansion into southeastern Europe and developed through the Middle Ages into a regional specialty similar to the kebab. They became especially popular among the converted Muslim population due to their exclusion of pork.

In Bosnia, it is customary to consider ćevapi as a traditionally Bosnian dish that spread to other parts of former Yugoslavia from Bosnia. To support this theory there are a variety of Bosnian versions of the same dish such as e.g. Travnièki ćevapi from the traditionally cattle herder area of Travnik, canonical Sarajevski ćevap from Sarajevo area, that look similar but taste slightly different due to variations in seasoning and meat content (some varieties containing lamb or other non-pork meats), as well as Banjaluèki ćevap which differs not only in taste but also by being grilled and served in connected tuples (usually of four). In all cases the dish is kept simple, and traditionally served in somun with onions and/or kajmak and yoghurt or kefir as apetizer, whereas outside Bosnia, it's common for ćevapi to be served with variety of vegetables and seasonings. In the Czech Republic and Slovakia, èevapèièi is generally served with mustard, chopped raw onions and potatoes.

Outside Bosnia, there is a local Serbian variety of leskovaèki ćevap whose receipe is based on traditional Serbian pljeskavica but formed as a somewhat larger sausage (ćevap). In Belgrade, ćevapèići first came from Leskovac in 1860s, in kafana "Rajić" at the Great Marketplace (today Studentski Trg), from where they have quickly spread across the city[4]. Before 1930s, they spread to the rest of the Yugoslavia, including to eastern Serbia and today's Macedonia.

Are you spoiling for a p*issing match or what?

I just wanted to say you have to be more emphatic. That is all.

What do you think a Pole would feel when you emphasize that your president and chancellor are coming with 2 different planes. Useless info.

News / Kaczynski to be buried at Wawel ?! [289]

Just a question,

Why most of the people do not like Kaczynski?

As far as I know he was a nationalist. Wanted a free Poland. He was against Russia and Germany which is understandable. Fighted against unlawfulness.

I only respect to these spesifications.

History / Polish hatred towards Jews... [1290]

Any meaningful differences between Sunni and Shia, rock?

I think there is not meaningful difference.

BrutalButcher

If you can manage to believe Moses and Yeshua or Jesus, you can also believe Muhammed.

Because all the books are similar.

From my side, the question is do you believe prophets or for christians even more ''son of the God'' or not ?

Seanus,

I am Sunni. But I can not say I am a good follower.

BrutalButcher

If you think so, you have to think same for Judaism and Christianity too.

Yes, it is very dangerous for Bosniaks. They have to live islam as they learned form Turks.

If you compare Turkey and Saudi Arabia today, you can easily see the difference.

We then found Islam through Arab scholars who came during the Ottoman empire. I wouldn't say that Turks put an end to Bosnian persecution but they did bring Islam to the region through Arab scholars.

Turks islam and Arabs islam is not the same. Bosniaks has to be careful not to be influenced by Saudi Arabians.

History / Polish hatred towards Jews... [1290]

You think an agreement brokered by Americans should hold more weight than the history of the region and the passing of hands?

Serbia was the majority before WWII and even for some time afterwards. It was the major power for so long and is still the second largest group there. I think it is a little unfair that they control so much but, rightly or wrongly, they have been in Bosnia for a long time with homes and past generations.

I am quite sure that if USA did not intervene to the Bosnian war by activating NATO, EU will keep on watching the Bosniak genocide. They were glad with Serbs if possible killing all the muslims. So as you said before Bosnia would be a christain country automatically.

When Serbs fought with Slovenia and Croatia, European nations immediately gave reaction and war stopped. When it came to Bosniaks they prefer to wait. But USA forced them after a lot of muslims die.

Unfortunately an aggrement brokered by Americans was the only solution for the muslims to survive. Although it is not fair for Bosniaks they admit it. Otherwise, without arms and an army they could not resist to Serbs who use all the facilities of ex-yugoslavian army.

Turks left Bosnia in 1878. Only 130 years ago. Bosnia was a typical muslim country at that date. Beginning from that date the difficulties for muslims began. Under Austria Hungary Empire rule migrations from Serbia and Croatia to Bosnia increased. Following years were worse for muslims. Bosniak began to migrate to Turkey. Today, 1.500.000 Bosniak origined Turks are living in Turkey.

As a result if Serbia, Croatia have rights to have independent countries seperating from Yugoslavia, Bosniaks have also right to have their own independent country.

At what point can you say that Bosnia belongs to such and such a group, rock? It's VERY relevant. If you can't answer it, you can't really lay claim to the land as there will always be competing claims in such a multi-ethnic country.

I believe a country must be ruled by the majority taking into consideration the rights of minorities. In Bosnia-Herzegovina case, majority in population are Bosniaks, minorities are Croats and Serbs.

Dayton aggrement will not be a solution for sure who gives exactly equal management rights to Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats. On the other hand, in Bosnia Hercegovina there is a Serbian republic including Serebrenitza, Foca etc. cities where Bosniaks were majority before war.

Think, there is Serbia, there is Serbian republic inside Bosnia Hercegovina and there is 1/3 Serbian rule in Bosnia Hercegovina. This is not fair.

History / Polish hatred towards Jews... [1290]

Well Rock, you still haven't got my point. Quote me some history and I'll quote you some earlier history. Where does the ultimate claim to land rest? Can you show me?

It was the history before islam Seanus. So, you don't like this voluntarily passing to islam part. What can I do to satisfy your thesis Seanus ?

What do you mean by '' Where does the ultimate claim to land rest?''

History / Polish hatred towards Jews... [1290]

Seanus,

This is the history of Bogomils in Bosnia. Bosnians were in fight with orthodox and catholic world before they choose islam.

The Bogomils spread westwards and settled first in Serbia; but at the end of the 12th century Stefan Nemanja, king of Serbia, burned them, persecuted them and expelled them from the country. Large numbers took refuge in Bosnia, where they were known under the name of Patarenes or Patareni. There, they were also brought into connection with the indigenous Bosnian Church, which was also considered heretical by the Pope and Byzantines, but was not actually Bogomil in nature. From Bosnia, their influence extended into Italy (Piedmont). The Hungarians undertook many crusades against the heretics in Bosnia, but towards the close of the 15th century, the conquest of that country by the Turks put an end to their persecution. It is alleged that a large number of the Bosnian Paterenes, and especially the nobles, embraced Islam.

Seanus,

What is your plan for muslim Bosniaks ?

Europeans are not developed in fact. They can not admit a muslim country in Europe. Unfortunately you are one of them. Maybe you are not a real christain but culturally you are so.

Why do you think Bosniaks convert to islam voluntarily Seanus ?

They gave a desicion and no way to change it. If you want ask a Bosniak in Sarajevo.

When you say Bosnia was largely a Christain country, it is sth like ''South Africa was largely a white country but suddenly blacks began to rule the country''.

I mean it is such funny.

Well, Bosnia was largely a Christian country until Izetbegovic got ahead of himself.

What ?

Are you joking Seanus ?

Now, I understand that you know nothing about Bosniaks or you want to behave like this.
