News / Polish journalist punched on Russian TV [32]

Why the **** would I care about an American election? its irrelevant.

Unless you are a country that is seen by the new American government as a target for regime change then all hell breaks loose.

Oh Sh$t Russia is the current target Oh Sh$t who is stuck in the middle again Oh Sh$t that will be Poland.

Work / Salary and cost of living information - Krakow [257]

Why should you get any angry comments?

12k zl per (montth especialy if it is net after taxes) is more money than my local mayor earns, I do not have knowledge of Krakow but you would be in the top 90% of earners in Poland, congratulations you should be able to live here very well.

History / The ongoing de-Germanisation of the Nazis and the Holocaust adds to Poland's Responsibility [124]

would not understand if an 'offensive' phrase was used in English,

Well this is the risk that someone would be taking, if they used the English phrase in Poland, It would be up to the court to decide, I guess we might get an answer once the first case goes to court.

Anyway it may not be passed into law, we will have to wait and see.

Context is very important in English

The English language is of no significance, in Poland.

If the draft passes into law anyone who uses "Polish Death Camps" will face up to 3 years in Jail, I am not sure how enforcible that would be outside Poland, but someone who says or publishes this in Poland (In English or Polish) will face the courts.

UK, Ireland / PLEXIT -The great British exodus (Brits in Poland returning home) [38]

I mention expats I am talking about investors

Oh I understand now, I don't know any high flying Brit investors, I know a few who have bought retirement places, the odd palace etc, the ones who have bought property to run as hotels and guest houses have not done well at all, they all seem to live on savings or other UK based investments/ pensions.

UK, Ireland / PLEXIT -The great British exodus (Brits in Poland returning home) [38]

From what I have seen here in the village it's the oposite, since the land law changed many Brit pensioners are buying up small properties and retiring here, they quote the weather, countryside and cheap houses and cost of living as the main reason to be here.

Maybe it's the city younger expats that you are thinking of?

History / The ongoing de-Germanisation of the Nazis and the Holocaust adds to Poland's Responsibility [124]

And if I want to say "Polish death camps",

Israel against using term 'Polish death camps'

jpost.com/Israel-News/Politics-And-Diplomacy/Israel-against-using-term-Polish-death-camps-473374

"The issue is very sensitive to the current Polish government, which initiated legislation over the summer that would penalize anyone using the term with up to three years in prison. The Poles maintain that calling the concentration camps on their soil "Polish death camps," rather than terms such as "Nazi death camps set up in occupied Poland," whitewashes German responsibility, and places it on their shoulders."

History / The ongoing de-Germanisation of the Nazis and the Holocaust adds to Poland's Responsibility [124]

The heinous performance of stalinist Jews in the early post-wart period, the torture and murder of AK freedom-fighters and other Polish patriots is rarely discussed on PF

It goes way before the AK fighters Pol, when the Russians came to my fathers village near Lvov a certain group pointed out those who were policemen teachers or were officers in the Polish army., those never to be seen again, the rest deported to Siberia, the problem with discussing this is that it just opens up old wounds and does nothing to build bridges, but the fact is there was that some call now the hidden hollocaust.

the originators, of the perfervid misdeeds in which many Poles sadly took part.

I agree but please accept that many poles put thenselves at risk to help their Jewish neighbours, as you said many Jews were also capos in the camps , Poles and Jews were put into a situation where they were put between a rock and a hard place, some jews and poles did what they did thinking it would appease and help them survive the evil of the invading master race.

Fact is if there were no Nazis there would not have been a holocaust

sick and tired to be blamed for something that their great grandfathers did.

I agree, but it was the older buggers I have spent time with in Austria that had the problem, thing is as soon as they asked me about my history it would start the inevitable conversation about the war, the youngsters would just sit around the periphery and wonder why we would gibber on about the past (rightly so it is nothing to do with them)

Germans, especially over fifty, don't sleep easily either:

In my own personal experience I have never seen this, If the subject amongst Germans was ever raised , it was quickly shut down with the blame put on the Nazis, of course you will not find any Geman who would admit any connection, It's as if the Nazis were some allien beings that came from outer space and had nothing to do with the German population at large.

History / The ongoing de-Germanisation of the Nazis and the Holocaust adds to Poland's Responsibility [124]

The death/extermination camps, a majority such as Auschwitz, Sobibór, Majdanek, along with sterilization or euthanasia centers, were present in Poland,

This hell will always hang over Poland, while the German conpanies that made the gas and used the slave labour continue to make huge profits, well at least Germany has come out of this smelling of roses, at least the Geman people wll be able to sleep at night knowing that all these problems are far away in Poland.

As for us we are left to tend and respect these places of the fallen, we do and will continue to do so.

News / Jesus Christ is Now Officially the King of Poland [164]

He is no head of state, just a spiritual lead as King of Poland as Mary is Queen.

But I think your post is phrased to incite Religiose tension divide and argument.

What if Poland had a Jewish, Black or Gay Head of state (As opposed to king) so what, they would have been voted in by the people

Again you have come out of the Pub drunk and out to cause trouble,

The majority here are Catholic so not many would be offended nor disagree I never mentioned a vote, we all strive for the kingdom of heaven.

" I would if you had ever done even two minutes' work for Poland. "

Bet you I have paid more into the system in just one transaction than you have. in all your time in Poland. There isno need for you to start a ******* contest.

" PiSlamic State "

I can feel the hate within you, let it go you will feel better for it.

Do you realize that your use of PiS(lamic) could be very offensive to those of the Muslim faith.

I can and leaving judgement for God as it's not my place to do it myself. Ppl and priests like you made me think I won't find it in the church.

Another hurt soul, I too was once challenged , and that challenge turned me away from my faith for many years, so I now better understand your position and I apologise for suggesting that you maybe a bully, time can be a great healer, us Catholics are not so bad honest.

Maybe because you claimed it was will of the ppl

Where did i make that specific claim, I just posted the fact that the cardinals and our president attended the ceremony.

Not sure if you know anything about the Catholic faith, communist rule did its best to beat our faith out of our country, but the majority of us Catholics beleive that Christ is the ultimate being , we do not need laws or votes on this , as it is an accepted fact within our faith , we strive to be good in this mortal world but with the ultimate dream that we may be accepted into the kingdom of heaven, hence our beleif that Christ is our king.

The fact that our president (Who was voted for by the people) attended this ceremony serves to demonstrate that our faith touches the soul of those in the highest levels in Poland.

In fact the only law still in power is the constitution stating that Poland is a secular country with freedom of religion.

Why do I get the feeling that I am being attacked.

I have already stated my views and defended other religions as per the below.

"Crow "I suppose, Muslims would now start to leave Poland"

There would be no reason for them to do so, Poland is tollerant to those of a different faith, all that we ask is for our Catholic faith to be respected and not ridiculed and attacked in the way a certain poster has today.

" Orthodox priest consecrated water in public water supply facility, in second largest city in Serbia- Novi Sad. Muslims refused to drink water"

We would not deny anyone water, we would not deliberatly do anything to alienate those who wish to live peacfully amogst us."

Lenka Why do I feel it necessary to defend myself are you another bully ?

Has there been a vote on that because somehow I can't remember anything like that..

Not sure abou a vote but it is now a fact

In a ceremony at the Church of Divine Mercy in Krakow, Poland on Saturday, the Catholic Bishops of Poland in the presence of President Andrzei Duda and many Catholic pilgrims, officially recognized Jesus Christ as the King of Poland and called upon Him to rule over their nation, its people and their political leaders.
