Yes, bilingual classes.
Not final, but an initial ceremony. They hold similar ones in the USA.

I'm Polish and some of these riddles are diffiicult for me, too.

Sorry, guys, I am doing it for your good, so please, don`t get vexed. :)

When these small packets of neurotransmitter are released at elevated rates, they help stimulate growth of new connections, known as boutons, between the presynaptic and postsynaptic neurons. This makes the postsynaptic neuron even more responsive to any future communication from the presynaptic neuron."Typically you have 70 or so of these boutons per cell, but if you stimulate the presynaptic cell you can grow new boutons very acutely. It will double the number of synapses that are formed," Littleton says.

Don't you enjoy his lengthy diatribes that no-one is actually reading except himself?

Well, eventually I did find time to read his/her last post and it is amusing, indeed. The problem is that if I tried to relate to all arguments presented there, I would have to quote 20 or more times and then I would further annoy mods/Admin which I prefer to avoid in order to spare them unnecessary frustration.

Dear SB, can you write shorter diatribes so that I have a chance to debate with you? :) 5 lines? Ok, let`s compromise, 7. And my last word is 8. I will never extend it to 9.

E.g,. you can only type the following and I will perfectly know what you mean, no need to elaborate:

You are a PRL-Pole.

Polish Righteous Lover. You are so right. My wife fully agrees with you. :):)

In Scotland, pupils is normal for both primary and secondary schools. So, blame my education ;)

What? After decades of admonishing my students they are students, I should tell them they are pupils? No way! :)

What age / grade do you teach? and which standard do you tend toward UK or US?

To answer your two questions, two photos at a time:

What are the occassions?

Off-Topic / Funny mistakes by Polish users of English [34]

Star WAS meant as a car. More exactly, a truck produced in communist Poland and after. :)

In this set, not all :(

Probably stick and salt. It was faulty pronunciation.

Not only English teachers have fun with students` funny mistakes. Polish teachers, too. Here are a few remarks concerning Polish literature and the way students perceive it. P.ii.ss with laughter, so called.... )

Po zebraniu makulatury, sprzedaliśmy ją razem z panią.
After collecting scrap paper, we sold it together with our teacher.

Konopnicka żyła od urodzenia aż po śmierć.
Konopnicka lived from her birth till her death.

Zenon kochał Elżbietę mimo, że był w ciąży z Justyną.
Zenon loved Elizabeth although he was pregnant with Justyna.

No, Pawian. Don't you enjoy his lengthy diatribes that no-one is actually reading except himself?

I did it a few times before and I felt like the character of In search of Lost Time. :) I still read his/her posts but only the beginning. :)

Nope. I already explained this to you in the Women's Rights thread you started:

Sorry, if you want to reach me, you must write shorter posts. I just skip any nonsense of yours if it is bigger than 5 lines. :):)

On this forum that is a loaded question ;)

haha I forgot about that, my fault.. :):)
No, I meant true Christians/ Catholics, not mock ones. How do we sometimes call Jews? And the post above reminds of a Polish proverb : strike the table and the scissors will sound. :)

that piece of topiary looks to represent the Menorah,

Of course it does. I say again - it is connected with Jewish topics. Another hint - but the ones which became more universal.

There are also the so-called ogrody biblijne, so perhaps it's one of them.

BINGO! A few dozen biblical gardens function in Poland:):) And Jews are sometimes called elder brothers in faith.

Where can you see such displays?

Genealogy / Did Polish fathers name their first son after their own name? [23]

But you are talking about Am Pollacks, obsessed with their "true" indentity which has little to do with real Poles.

(i.e., those whose families have an uninterrupted and uncorrupted passing down of Polish linguistic and cultural traditions forged in the 1st and 2nd Polish Republics)

Those are not traditions, they are obsessions of yours which make you one of viliest people on this planet. :)

Of course I intended to write the vilest. Sorry.

one of viliest

Genealogy / Did Polish fathers name their first son after their own name? [23]

During my long life in Poland I have met only two families in which sons bore the same first name as their fathers. And whenever strangers learnt about it, they were surprised. So I can tell you it is not a Polish tradition today.

As a PRL relic, your anti-nationalist indoctrination was completed a very long time ago.

Hey, it seems you are suffering from split personality again. In Women`s rights thread and others you stubbornly claim I am a nasty nationalist. What is wrong with you? We are really worried....

But it is amusing anyway, so you can keep it like that.:)

From name calling, to glittering generalities, to transference, to personal testimonies, to pretending to be "plain folk"

Wow, translating those terms took me a while. :) Thanks.
That`s really amazing. I hadn`t read or even seen the propaganda manual book you are talking about, yet I used all the techniques described there. It seems I have learnt them all in the forum. Can I be proud of myself for being such a dilligent student of classic masters of propaganda? :)

Topiary gardens in parks, palaces, castles etc? Let me guess, you want to know exactly where your picture is......

Exactly is not necessary. It is enough you keep to general categories, like topiary parks, but different of course.

My guess - some former Jewish site, either a cemetery or something else...

Sorry, no.

No, mentioning Churchill`s comment on Russia after the invasion of Poland by the Red Army in 1939 I meant a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma Pity this historical allusion got wasted on you. Instead, you came up with that Jewish obsession of yours again. Aren`t you ever bored with it? :):)

No. Unlesss they're fags.

:):) Tell us, when was the last time you visited Poland? Have you ever stayed here longer than one day during your visits? Because your replies sometimes prove you know nothing about this country. You can google thousands of photos of Polish males receiving flowers, especially from women, on various occasions.

I think abolishing celibacy and letting priests have families would be a good step.

Wow, I am amazed you are saying it. Point for you.

Now we have to struggle for our cultural identity.

I am not afraid of Poland losing cultural identity. Polish culture is strong enough to accomodate and integrate any immigrants.

Life / Is it safe for Indians, Sikhs living here in Poland? Any Temple / Gurudwara in Wroclaw? [159]

dissolution of cultural integrity,

What kind of a nationalist are you if you are afraid of dissolution of cultural integrity in Poland? I thought you believed that Poland and Poles are able to accomodate immigrants and encourage them to adapt to Polish culture quickly. Is that the infamous nationalist complex of inferiority?

Until the next Polish right-wing government expulse all non-EU foreigners.

I see your madness is escalating. :) Is it the influence of the forum?

Check it out: dailymail.co.uk

Isn`t it amusing you always write such lengthy posts based on tabloid articles?

you don't go on to explain why it is needed.

Simple. I am tired of seeing/meeting/working/dealing with Caucasian guys everywhere I am. It is so boring. Therefore, I need some racial diversity here because it will be amusing. And you can`t prevent me from supporting it, by any means. :):)

And then we've got doctors, Isn't that enough? What Poland doesn't have (and doesn't need) are

No, it is not enough. If you were a more diligent student at school, you would know that Poland has had a deficit of doctors for decades, Indian doctors are really needed. Besides, Indians don`t deal with terrorism etc.

Next time look up for useful data before you write sth. .

Yes, of course. :)

In what kind of places can you see such decorations in Poland?

Sorry, Father`s Day is on 23 June, indeed, but the photo shows 26 and the difference matters.

Why hoping it was from me, not for me? :):):) Do you suggest males don`t/shouldn`t/mustn`t get flowers in Poland?

Try again and think of other occasions/celebrations/holidays around 21-26 June.

Life / What do decent Poles think about true rightists ? [148]

Decent Poles are true rightists and true rightists are decent Poles.

I would like it to be true. Unfortunately, the reality is utterly opposite. Sad.

It will have its political function soon

The more politics in the Church, the more believers it will lose each year. The times have changed and we don`t struggle for independence like in communist times.

Not to me! Is it some sort of sports facility e.g a gym or a youth club?

Yes, it is a gym! And, unfortunately it is not the end, the gym is only a part of a bigger facility! What namely? So easy now....

Increasing number of drops taken daily to a maximum, then drops are decreased, followed by a rest period.

Great! :):) But how are the drops applied?

Kitchen? As for the object it could be anything, pen? spoon? I bet you're finding this almost painful.......

Not kitchen but you are close. Not a pen or spoon, but sth else- namely, a tool. And not painful as I am doing it for your sake because I like helping people. Do you know that each solved riddle delays your getting Alzheimer disease by one day? The more riddles we do, the later we come down with it. .

I hope you understand what students intended to say/write:

I am going to travel this somewhere.

Turtles are in danger because people destroy their legs.

She is going to attend a soft defence class.

Mr Sheenan works like a sleeve.

Have you phoned your dog yet?

He likes stick and salt.

I like travelling because I like seeing movements of the past.
