Language / Perfective vs Imperfective - grammar [150]

God knows if i am on the right thread to ask this question tell me if not.

Why do people use the word toaleta nowadays, when I was taught to use the word ustęp for toilet, anything to do with high or low Polish ?

Farmer, peasent or aristocrat ?

News / Poland: veterans and freedom-fighters want Jaruzelski posthumously demoted [20]

Traitors can be stripped of their general's epaulettes

Anyone who held any military rank during the communist era should be stripped of that honour, they defile the honour and memory of the true Polish patriots and heros.

They can use the title of comrade if they so wish.

Language / Perfective vs Imperfective - grammar [150]

I'm surprised, I thought you would be more or less fluent. I know you grew up in the UK but presumed you would have spoken Polish at home.

Most people here say my Polish is very good, but I know they are just being kind, my problem is that I know most many of the words in the polish language but I struggle to find them when making a sentence, and I don't always use them in the right context.

The crazy part of it is I recognise all of these words when they are spoken to me, I have no trouble comprehending what is being said to me.

When I went to school in the UK at the age of four I couldn't speak english only Polish, over the years I have lost some ability to process Polish in favour of processing everything in english first then converting to Polish, does that make any sence to you?, It confounds me.

Sadly the language threads are nowhere near as busy as they used to be.

I can understand, I would need to start from the basics and to be honest I kind of feel it a bit Intimidating, because I know some people would pick this up and take the michael, and those at a high level may not have the patience required to help.

Must say I find discussion about language on this forum most interesting.

Only lasts for three months , designed to cover EU members during a short visit, the card will not cover you if you become a Polish resident.

Native speakers surely can detect whether the user is also a native speaker

Especially with a UK Midlands accent, I was always able to detect that my mother and father were a foreigners by their Polish accents.

Work / Information about jobs for Indian students in Poland [286]

He has no capital. End of daydream.

That is your assuption , you have no in depth knowlede of the OP's financial resources.

If I moved to a foreign country and had little or no knowledge of the language tone thing I would consider is get a part time job just to interact and learn, even if I didn't need the money.

niebieskie mygdały to your hearts content

Thinking that way always holds you back in life, those who succeed in business give an idea a try and take risks,

After all Sir Alan Sugar of Amstrad and Aprentice fame started out selling from a van, he ended up a multi millionaire.

Sanepid

He just needs a van and licence to sell food, vegetable curry using cheap seasonal Polish vegetables is cheap and can return a very high margin, If he works it right he could also pickup orders from peole to take home to the family in the evenings.

A long as he sticks to the rules , working hours etc he should be ok, especially if he ropes in couple of fellow students to work on a rota basis.

As for wherewithal., I have found that Asians have it in bucket loads.

zero chance that you will get a part-time job in Poland

The OP could always look to create his own niche in the market, such as delivering delicious Indian lunchtime meals to the staff at IBM.

Study / Turkish guy to study at a university in Poland. Is that problem for Polish people? [139]

Whenever you see posts here from Turkish people all they ask is is it safe to come, is it ok to live here, they never complain about how things are in Poland (Apart from understandable worries / problems of racism from a minority of Poles) they want to integrate, unlike many Europeans here who moan about all things Polish and want to force their political ideology on us.

Life / Millennials even worse than baby-boomers? [60]

Will you make sure to keep coming here and boasting about your good deeds?

No , I will not bow down to your bullying, I have seen enough of your hate and innuendo when you picked on Johhny Reb when he was being charitable to some local children.

300zl per person for a six-course tasting menu and a six-glass wine pairing.

I took two pallets of cat food to the vet today for them to give to an old lady that i'd overheard say that she can no longer afford to feed her cats, I will keep dropping food off every couple of months, there are better ways of spending 300zl.

I am happy being a boomer, I was really happy leaving the vets today, an expensive restuarant could never compete.

Who the hell wears a Rolex. And Moet? Really?

People like you Harry who boasts about going around Warsaw dining at the finest Michelin resaurants and Quaffing only the best alcohol available, you are always boasting about your Polish earnings, at least you were able to take a little time out of PF to visit rehab, sadly it appears to have failed.

I am pretty sure, and many here would agree that you behave like a spoiled Libtard Millennial brat as per the article in the " Daily Heil"

What was she doing there, what do you expect from a woman who's nation will forever be remembered for their eager participation in mass genocide with their partners in criminality Nazi Germany.

Sadly the teacher probably lost his job as a result, the only harm done was to the ego of the miscreant student, who would be teased by his fellow stdents for being girly slapped on the cheek , the fact is that the student will probably think twice before trying this trick again.
