It must be nice for the workers in the flag factories in China producing little versions of the eagleless Polish flag because if they glue it to the stick upside-down it's not ruined but rather Indonesian.

And Monaco, though the market is smaller.

It's white for the Polish eagle and red for the shield of Lithuania. From the days when the two territories were in union.

In rough terms, what is Ethiopian cookery all about?

It's similar to the cuisine of neighbouring Sudan. But a little spicier. A lot of lamb stews, flatbreads, beans, cakes with honey and very, very good coffee. Excellent fruit juices too, like hibiscus and baobab.

Lepper knew nothing, and if he did, he would've shouted about it from the rooftops. He was a populist, not a guy who was going to keep things to himself.

Exactly. Like the uranium thing that he shoujted from the rooftops and various packs of lies over the years.

If Lepper had known anything worth telling nobody would have believed him, like the boy who cried wolf.

Crazy, and shameful that they won't let him rest in peace.

Par for the course unfortunately.

It was in character. He was an unstable individual with problems. Added to that, he wasn't capable of keeping secrets.

The public school system had good teachers and the schools functioned in orderly fashion.

After integration the Public school system went to hell

I was sympathetic towards the guy, even very sympathetic, until the day one of his MEPs raped a woman while abroad (and hid behind immunity) and Lepper gave a televised press conference saying the woman couldn't have been raped because she had worked as a prostitute.

From that point on, when he showed his true colours, it all seemed to go downhill.

Poles are stupid and cheat on exams , lol . They are the best . Remark for you Southern and JonnyM .

Cheating is unfortunately widespread in the Polish education system - it is expected and part of school and university life. I've even heard lawyers and unfortunately more than one doctor admitting that they'd cheated during their studies. It is only themselves that they compromise.

Female employees? I don't know as I never saw him with them.

Demanding sexual favours from female staff. He was convicted of it and sentenced to jail. At the time of his suicide he was going through the appeals court to have the sentence changed. A court in £ódż quashed the jail term but prosectors were appealing to a higher court given the gravity of his crimes.

i've mentioned on the forum in the past that i once met him.

At the height of Samoobrona's sucess I went to a party in a bar near the sejm with various of their MPs. The only one I really remember was Beger. My overriding impression was the wholesale quantities of champagne that was served and the fact that one of their functionaries settled the bill by counting out several thousand zlotys' worth of coins.

One thing his party did was give a voice to small businesspeople in the provinces who'd gone bankrupt and felt failed by systems old and new. Then they went and spoiled it in the sleaziest ways possible.

The press are saying it was suicide.

He was a pretty vile individual, particularly in relation to his treatment of women, and a political has-been. But still a surprise.

On 25-26 August 2010 in Paris took place the XXIV International Championship Games, and Mathematical Logic. Poles once again proved that they are the world's leading winning 8 medals out of 24 .

This also proves that Poles work harder and score better

I know one of the organisers of the Polish contingent. He and a significant number of the entrants would not be considered Polish at all by a sizeable percentage of regular posters here.

The recent competitions prove that polish students are better than USA students.

The issue isn't the brainiest ones who will thrive in any environment - it's the general level of educaion. Which in Poland is extremely poor.
