Life / Polish people and racism. [943]

I haven't been to Poland yet but many people post over here saying that they aren't friendly at all and can be quite racists. Is it actually true?

No, Polish people are generally not racist, have you been racially abused before?

I did not know that there was islamophobia to such an extent in Poland

Nope, a lot of us don't pretend to be blind in Poland.

UK, Ireland / Polish striking due to anti-Polish UK feeling [58]

boringly uneducated British society

You shouldn't be so harsh about your own kind, lonely walking dog for hours isn't good for mental health. You should take a break.

The Poles acknowledge our superiority by coming here and doing work that no self respecting person would do for jackpot salaries of £6.50 per hour

I earn more than subhuman like yourself ever will.

Either you are a troll or just not intelligent enough to look at things outside of how you want to look at them.

I'm neither, it's you who makes offensive statements and then lacks a pair of testicles to admit when pointed out.

I never said 99.9% of Polish people as a whole

No, you meant the Poles who moved to the UK and that's what I meant too.

I would guess theres a lot of people in Poland who have high skill sets but they do not come across here as they do not need to.

What? That's the whole idea of moving abroad, because you get an attractive job offer like: IT developer, doctor, engineer and many more.

And in reality how many high skilled Polish workers do you think are across here? Bear in mind that Polish people overall make up a minority of the UK population.

about 20 to 25%, it's hard to estimate as it's not easy to categorize exactly which job is high skilled and which is not.

What would be offensive would be to say that 99.9% of Polish people have no skills

Yes, if you well know it's not the truth then it is offensive lie of yours.

do you deny that theres more Polish people in most working class fields?

Majority for sure but that's still better than you as you get rejected even from the jobs like this.

Why do you ask me a question that I have already just answered? Oh I forgot... autism, maybe I just have too many expectations from you.

from your other comments on this thread it does seem you are basically saying you do well.

well that 99.9% is indeed offensive, and you say that I'm offensive? Now I see what's the autism all about.

Again to be fair I would say the majority of Polish workers are in the lower paid jobs such as factory work, cleaners, shop workers etc not in specialist jobs hence they do the lower paid jobs.

Majority for sure but that's still better than you as you get rejected even from the jobs like this.

I can even link to an article from my home town which mentions that the owners made management do courses to learn Polish so they could speak to the staff!

Please provide the link cause I don't believe that.

And this is a interesting thing, I was turned down for the company (despite having applied and been accepted in the past more than once) as was my friend, we reapplied at same time using foreign surnames and were offered the job without even coming to interview! The applications were identical in every other way, and also some friends of ours who had years of factory experience were rejected and we had none.

Being able to prove that would be also very powerful thing.

Life / Life in Poland - feeling lonely and don't want to socialize much! (anyone feeling same?) [93]

Poland has rugby clubs; why not cricket?

LoL, most people in Poland when asked what cricket is would answer: isn't that baseball like game where they use flattened bat? (so it's harder to miss the ball). How can you even compare a manly game like rugby to a cricket? Cricket in Poland? nope, we'll let the thirld world countries in Asia enjoy it.

Polish people are only here because of big business wanting keep wages low.

How is £4000 a month low wage? Would you like to tell us how much you make?

one of the main reasons people hire Polish people is that they see them as harder workers and do not complain

Indeed, why would I complain. Around £4000 (after deduction) a month plus perks like company's car and others. I sure need to do quite a few overtimes and get a bit of a stress here and there sometimes but this price is reasonable for my services, I can't really complain.

Instead of striking how about speaking english for christs sake.

That's right, any time when I stop in Black Country, it's right next to Birmingham, I see why this people look so miserable right after I listen to them, If they could speak better English it surely benefited them.

Study / Is there racism in Poznan and hate crime against coloured people (students)? [59]

@Wulkan: have I said ON TV? No, so don't read what people don't write. Yes, a lot of Poles call blacks "apes" and consider Muslims as terrorists.

So where is this coming from if 99% of them know blacks only from the TV as you stated? Or is it coming from that 1% who met black people in real?

Personally, should I not be white and European, I would never set a foot in Poland.

Personally, should I not be black and African, I would never set a foot in Lagos - Nigeria.

3 days ago GW published the result of an international study done in 41 countries and Poland came 32

I suggest you to stop reading the least reliable source of information in Poland that is "Gazeta WybiĆ³rcza"

99% of Poles have seen people looking different only on TV and beleive that muslims = terrorists and blacks = monkeys.

They portray blacks as a monkeys in the Polish TV these days? wow, I didn't know how much I missed since I stopped watching TV many years ago.

I once had a colleague from NY who felt claustrophobic in Warsaw as he was used to multi cultural international cities.

That makes perfect sense! homogeneity should be banned in all the major cities in the world then. Would he still get claustrophobic if he went to Kampala - the capital of Uganda?
