Study / Bachelors in Civil / Mechanical Engineering Degree in Poland [39]

No, there are no jobs for you during the time of studying and no chances of a good job after. If you spoke Polish perfectly, there may be some opportunities. No one will bother getting a work permit for you when there are thousands of other people after the same job.

UK, Ireland / Pack from Ireland to Poland via An Post [16]

In Post does not work with the Post office. They are totally separate businesses. You should have got a card telling you where to pick the parcel up.

Study / Is the University of Warsaw good? [26]

I believe that people are NOT interested in studying at all. What they want is a VISA to enter a European country, where after a time they will disappear. Prove me wrong!!!

Work / What are the job opportunities in Poland for a young Italian with a law degree? [72]

>>>>. but i would like you to know career proposition within Poland for a Fresh Law graduate... is there a big demand?

Firstly, you will NOT get a job. In order to get into any law firms you have to have contacts, have a member of family already working there.

You can try contacting agencies to see if they can offer you any work in your field. They will tell you NO too.

Real Estate / Place to live in Krakow, Poland / Bonarka [3]

Go on this website:
gumtree.pl/fp-mieszkania-i-domy-do-wynajecia/krakow/c9008l3200208?A_DwellingType=flat

You will get an idea of how much furnished apartments cost. As a rough idea you will be looking at 2,000 PLN for rented apartment, plus utilities (gas/electricity/water).

Life / Living Expenses in Krakow [42]

Calculate very basic food costs at 20-30 PLN per day = 600-900 PLN. Cosmetics, cleaning products, laundry approx 80 PLN per month. Electricity, gas, water, rubbish removal at least 100-150 PLN per month. You may wish to buy a newspaper, go to the cinema, so calculate another 40 PLN per month.

Absolutely the very basic needs approx 1200-1500 PLN per month.

Real Estate / Splitting property in Poland while being married but in separation [4]

First, try to ascertain the true saleable value of the house, less any outstanding mortgage, less any associated costs. Once you know the figure of 'your' half - maybe you can advise her where to get a mortgage to buy you out.

Even if you do find a solicitor, no one can force her to sell the house.
Your only other option would be for you to immediately stop paying your 'half' of the mortgage payments. If she is saddled with the whole mortgage, maybe she can be persuaded, that if she doesn't keep up the mortgage payments on the house, the bank will take the house and she will get nothing at all.

Work / What is the average accounting/auditing salary in Poland? [42]

Currently, (as always) the Big 4 are advertising for staff. There are also other finance/auditing jobs advertised.
Surely, the best way to find out the salary structure is to ask them when you get invited for a job interview.

Law / British in travel. Many trips to Poland within a year - do I need to register? [9]

If you are covered by British travel insurance for any emergencies make sure that you read the small print, as they have a total number of days per year for which you are covered. Chances are that before they pay anything out (should the need arise) they will check your travel arrangements.

The fact that you have a flat (or 20 flats) in Poland does NOT make you a tax resident of Poland.

Law / Money with ZUS - what happens to it when I leave Poland and come back home? [23]

>>>>>>They dug out my record of working in the UK, and calculated what my pension would be (not much). I decided to let it be at the time, but one option would have been to take a lump sum and give up my right to a pension.

...I don't think that you are talking about the compulsory National Insurance contributions (towards the Government Old Age Pension) as I don't believe such option exists, but I will check.

Law / Money with ZUS - what happens to it when I leave Poland and come back home? [23]

>>>>>>>I was under the impression that at least the pension money could be transferred/cashed at the time of leaving the country...

I cannot, for the life of me think of WHO would have given you that impression....

The Government cannot return ANY money, because it has already been spent on other people.
Same thing happens in the UK - you cannot ever get any National Insurance payments back - they have already been spent as well. That's why anyone prior to pension age hopes that youngsters have good jobs - because otherwise there will be no money to pay their old-age-pensions.

Work / Possibly changing jobs in Lodz - higher salary [19]

As I see it, you have been offered a position with approx. 1,300 PLN more per month, even if you take out 300 pln, you still have 1,000 pln. Unless your ticket to Brazil costs 12,000 pln, you are better off.

Law / What banks are people using in Poland? [50]

This seems very strange to me. With only a British passport I was able to open accounts in at least 3 banks where I had Polish zl accounts.

Try another bank.
