As you are now healthy - the point of having National Insurance does not concern you. Ask at PZU (where you went) if you will be insured for any operations you may need or for any disease you may pick up (such as food poisoning) and if they say YES of course, then you are o.k. Make sure your stay in hospitals/clinics will be covered in FULL.
I think the PZU insurance is only for people who are trevelling and not for people who currently work in Poland (on whatever contracts). Ask them and make sure, as if something happens to you, you will find yourself without any insurance and having to fund any necessary operations yourself.
Do make sure before you sign for anything. Ask them to show you where the points are covered in the contract before you sign.

When I mentioned air vents - I did not mean trickle vents in the frames. If a gas boiler is positioned in a room (I have one in the kitchen) then the doors and windows need to have vents. That's why in Poland the bathroom doors have vents - because generally the gas boiler is in the bathroom. As the original poster does not have gas - then this is irrelevant.

It is an annual requirement that you have your chimneys checked by a professional who issues a certificate of compliance. If you have something which does not comply they can ask you to take it out - more expense for you. The gas company will not issue you a contract for supply of gas if you do not have the certification from the chimney sweeps.
The contractors will go on about a closed and an open flues - you must understand the difference. You may also need to have air vents in your windows.

We are venturing into the unknown.
As said above, we need to know the bank, then maybe perhaps someone can help you.
I know in my bank (Alior), they send you a PIN number directly to your telephone at the time you want to open an on-line account. This is their way of ensuring that they have the right person.
Why not ring them or write them a letter to say you want a copy of your account.......or am I missing something?. I know for certain that you have to pay for each page of the account, so it is better to have the on-line banking facility as you can get copies of your pages for free.
If you cannot manage, then send an email to the bank and take it from there.

Work / What is the job market situation (high technology field) in Poland? [2]
You expect US to do all the donkey work for you?
There are many posts on this forum, where people from India have been offered good and bad positions. Maybe YOU ought to get in touch with these companies to see if you are suitable for the positions that they offer.
Remember, any future employer has to apply for a work permit for you for a specific job. He has to PROVE that there is no one else available in Poland to do the work.
You have to offer something that no one else can offer.

The costs range from living accommodation, utility bills, traveling costs to and from work, food. No doubt, you will find that in Krakow money just flies out from your wallet.
As to whether it is a 'good move' - it all depends on what you consider 'GOOD'.

I think that when someone (like Decentman1) asks whether the age difference is acceptable, this already indicates doubts about the relationship. If the age thing didn't matter to him (and therefore no need to ask about it), then they would just live a happy life, not minding what anyone else said about it. If you're asking total strangers on the forum whether this age difference is ok - then you already have problems.

As an aside. I am a woman, and recently when I was sitting on a bench in Krakow's Main Square, a man sat back to back to me and his hand wandered and touched my bottom. I moved, thinking that it was pure accident. He moved too and touched me again. I turned round, looked at him, stood up and gave him the loudest blast of 'who do you think you are touching?' and 'do you want me to call the police?'. Half of the people in the Square turned round to see what was going on. He will never do that again. Why do people think that it is ok to touch someone else anywhere on their bodies without their permission. Men or women. It is not!.

Why should an employer go to the trouble of getting a visa for you, when he can get a Polish person with no trouble. As you do not speak Polish, the chances of you getting any jobs are NIL. What jobs could you actually do without speaking the language of the country in which you hope to live? There have been thousands of posts about this on this forum. Read before you post.
