Oh please. "young kids"?This dude is 16 y/o, not everywhere law is as ridicolous as in the US.
In the US my first girlfriend would get in troubles because I was 15 and she was 19 when I got laid for the first time.Not to mention that 18 y/o Americans can fight a war yet they can't get drunk.

Wow ! just packed the first box the ship to Poland and 3 for storage. Sold the 2nd living room Sofa and Love Seat as well as the Cocktail table and the two end tables. Very empty and very mind sobering of what we are doing! It is now real and against MY mother wishes we are now "set in stone" we are going ! (a little scared <-- me)

Nothing to be scared of,you can always go back to the States if you won't like Poland.The only thing I would worry about is that you don't speak Polish and this may make you feel alienated.

s2good2 is exactly the kind of immigrants Poland needs.He will be more than fine since they can bring stuff (clothes,electronics etc) from States so all he needs to worry bout are monthly bills which I am sure won't be more than he pays in the US.s2good2 you should consider shipping a vehicle from the States but not KIA or junk like that but an expensive one.You can ship it (if you owned it for 6months in the US) WITHOUT ANY DUTIES OR TAXES.Same for your other personal stuff,just make sure your wife get a paper from Polish embassy called "mienie przesiedleńcze".

Are American's really targeted after dark there?

On a serious note,NO they are not targeted though I would NOT fly stars and stripes all over the place.Don't show off and you will be fine.

i am legally a US citizen. As opposed to being an illegal immigrant.

Look dude the thing is that there is no such thing as an illegal citizen.If you are a citizen that means you are legall.Now as for immigrants,they can be legall or not legall RESIDENTS.Plain and simple.

I am trying to say i've heard bad stories about Poles trying to get into US.. I've even heard horror stories about Poles getting deported after making to the US.

Interesting stories you guys have there in the sticks.Send her $140 and you will quickly find out if she get a visa.Now as for deportation her chances of being deported are like 0.01%.

Outrages,though I am not sure if half Americans are legally protected during closed season.(Need to check in my "Americans hunting guide").Anyway I am glad you made it.I remember in 1988 bastards like that almost caused complete extinction of Americans population in PL.Luckily for true hunters the iron curtain fell soon after.

Yes.It's an old Polish custom to hunt Americans after dark.It's not easy since they are not very common in Poland and it may take a while before you trace one.The best areas for Americans hunting are traditionally Warsaw and Cracow but you may also get lucky in other bigger towns.I recently managed to trace one in Wroclaw and soon hope to add another trophy to my collection.The open season begins May 1st and ends September 31st when they are most numerous in PL.

Poland's economy is far too stable at the moment.

The problem is that such articles ignore the huge black economy here - on paper, someone might be loaded down with debts, but they can easily earn a hell of a lot more on the side.

Why don't you send her $140 (you know they are very poor over there, $140 is like 2 months average salary) so she can apply for a visa? And you will soon find out what her chances are.Cheaper than spending thousends to fly there and back.

Law / Vehicle imports from Germany to Poland [6]

I think you need to have owned that car in its place of purchase for a year to not be eligible for import tax.

For Poles moving back to motherland -) it's 6 months (mienie przesiedlencze) though you can not sell the car within the next 12 months (if you sell it you will have to pay VAT and akcyza).There is no import tax on vehicles from EU just VAT and akcyza.

Really?What can you know about Poland in 81?Nothing.So,let me tell you boy,Poland in 1981 was way better place than many countries are today.What a ridiculous statement.I lived in Poland in 1981 and I did not see anybody hungry,begging nor living in a shack.Now go to Vietnam,Philipines or Zimbabwe and you will see what "3rd world country" means.
