both Jon. You don't find out what knuts people are until you have kids, or marry a non-Brit. or both.

When my boy started secondary, a kid followed him round for literally weeks shouting abuse at him. He would actively seek him out to do this, shouting gayboy or whatever.

After many weeks of this, my son lost it and pushed him over and gave him a kick.
Guess who got suspended and who got an apology and a pat on the head?

News / How will BREXIT affect the immigrants in UK and Poland. [1114]

The problem the English have with "the EU telling us what to do" boils down to the fact that an idea of building something together remains completely foreign to them

yeh have you looked at a map recently? The UK is made up of FOUR countries, the inhabitants of which ALL get to vote! Not just 'the English'. Amazing isnt it?

God I hate ignorance especially when it dressed up as some would be profound statement.

Also, InPolska, do you mean 'the British goverment' or 'the English people' - you seem a tad confused.
As for France I have one thing to say about 'equality' there....and that is 'Drancy'.

News / Polish girl, 16, found dead at school after complaints of racist bullying [29]

I don't want to sound like I'm blaming the parents. I

it DOES sound as though you are blaming the parents

.

If they're loved and cared for at home I really don't think they'd be susceptible to bullying or if they were it wouldn't affect them so much

sorry but that is just nasty rubbish.

t's the first of it's kind in the UK b

really? What on earth makes you think that?

School bullying nowadays is taken more seriously in the UK than almost anywhere else, the UK is one of the least xenophobic societies in the world

jon I am sorry but I think you are deluded.

you would likely be there screaming racism.

no I really wouldn't - you know what I hate being cast into a fictitious role by people who don't know me at all.

And why would I have been 'screaming' anyway? Interesting choice of word for lines on a screen....

why are two children with Polish names being singled out?

they would have been bullied whatever their names to be honest, I was just telling you that so you would stop shouting crap about my 'Polonophobia'...:)

To be honest I cannot compare our experience with that of someone who moved to Cornwall, it is redneck city down there. They treat anyone from east of the Tamar as a bloody foreigner...

Bullying is only rife in those societies who encourage it either implicitly or explicitly

well i cannot disagree with that.

B., I have just seen 2 children with a Polish name through school here, and my main worry has been bullying and keeping them alive. Please dont get aggressive and start shouting crap at me. Thanks.

the thing is B., this is a dangerous age for children of any nationality.
Bullying is rife, if it is not one thing it would be something else.
My son was horribly bullied at school, but we couldn't blame it on "racism".
I don't want to belittle or disrespect what happened to this girl, but I don't think you care about her at all, you are just using it to have a pop at the English.

Life / Poles brighter than French, Americans, Israelis and Irish... [20]

look i dont want to disrespect your parents or anything, but surely you do see the irony of the child of immigrants bleating about 'foreign wazzocks'.

One of my parents was an immigrant too so really no offence. I do understand what you are saying about racist stuff. so why join in with it now?>

I believe my grandfather fought in the trenches of world war one but I am not basing my identity around it.

we don't want anymore foreign feckless wazzocks here.

what like you.? LOL
Jokes dolno....but does anyone actually say 'wazzock' any more? It's a bit 70s isnt it? Or is it some quaint Northern dialect word?

Lucky nobody said that to your parents eh?

It has brighter future than your crappy island.

oh right yes of course it does...:) you just keep telling yourself that.
London is the economic capital of the world, I am not sure if you have noticed that...:)
That is why the inhabitants of lesser, crappier countries, come flocking like sheep here to work.

Although to be honest G., I am not really nationalistic. It is what it is.

Excuse me if I sounded rude. But one cannot help when visiting Poland to notice the vast amount of people that are simply....not there.

EQ is politically correct bullsh1t. It gives you a higher score if you are "tolerant" to someone slapping the face of your own mother.

well you obviously don't know what it is then. Don't be sillier than you have to be.

With an average IQ of 99, Poland is tied with Spain and ahead of...

Using what test? IQ tests are a load of culturally biased nonsense. They measure how good you are at doing IQ tests. Then again I can see the appeal of making 'intelligence' quantifiable. I have noticed this appeal in Poland a lot. for example my nephew ( who had previously attended school in London for some formative years) was given a prize for being "the sixth best English speaker in Polish schools" - I mean wtf is that about? who spoke to them? how did they decide who was best?.How good was their own English?

To be honest I think an obsession with IQ tests is a mark of stupidity. Ever heard of EQ?

Anyway if Polish people are so brilliant, how come the country is fecked?

Having said that, I can see why people might be good at doing these tests with a more old fashioned rote learning set-up where they will have done eg mental arithmetic

UK, Ireland / A new mayor in London: opinion of Polish people in the UK? [317]

where a woman wearing a skirt will be accosted as would a man drinking a beer).

This is true. I knew a girl who was pushed to the floor and given a kicking by a group of Muslim men. I mean, OK she was probably trying to turn tricks or buy drugs -

That was in East London some years ago.

even if he did.....if you think that what this 'lady' did was reasonable, then you must be as loony as she is.
I think she probably needs to go to a mental hospital not a prison, she is obviously not well.

If you cant take the heat (of selling cheap booze to thirsty punters) then hey, get a different job.

I bet she will be all like 'It's not my fault!'

bleach throwing idiot should sue owner as well for putting her into this mess without a proper support.

I doubt the owner said to her 'go and throw bleach over those British drunks; on the other hand, he/she could have encouraged her to do what she liked due to their general contempt for such people. Only she knows.

Iron - if you are mentally unbalanced the worst place to be working is in a city - centre bar!

I think gregy's last post was victim-blaming, until the last sentence!

I see the boys were Welsh - rugby types on tour....hmm yes they could have been annoying

it seems its no so safe for British lads craping on toilets floor in Krakows restaurants.:

gregy I have read the article, and it is insane. Even if someone did make a mess in the loo, responding by flinging industrial cleaner in their faces and at their company, is hardly a rational response is it? Quite seriously loony in fact.

Classic victim blaming.

UK, Ireland / A new mayor in London: opinion of Polish people in the UK? [317]

For the average ethnic "Anglo" Londoner aka Brit at large

the thing is, Londoners come from such a different place to 'the average Brit' you cannot really compare them, let alone dismiss them together in one sweeping generalisation.

The melting pot culture - at my children's London primary there were 160 languages spoken.

Even when I was a kid (and I am not that young) all of our group were half this and half that, half Iranian half German, half Swiss half American, half Jewish, half Irish, etc etc

YOu have an outdated view of London L.
