News / Die Welt-Poland and Germany are the economic driving force of Europe [239]

The problem is, so much of our ecomony revolves around that "buying," so it's not practical to stop spending. It just isn't. It's the same with health insurance. Get rid of the middle man, some say, and the costs will go down and the unemployment figures will go up. What we should do, instead, is simply replace what they manufacture with products we manufacture over here, or tax what they manufacture so they can pay down our deficit.

This is the smart thing to do.

Why is it so difficult? The Chinese already have this figured out. Manufacture, then sell to the Chinese middle class (and the world because no one says it's not right) and keep all the money here in China. It just keeps circulating and circulating. It never leaves.

America hasn't got this basic principle figured out and you see the consequences all around. High unemployment. Recession. Some say borderline depression. Budget shortfalls.

You only hear one popular figure addressing the key problem, Donald Trump. The others are kowtowing to China and proposing draconian measures that will compromise standards in this country when none of it's necessary if you just address the real problem.

News / Die Welt-Poland and Germany are the economic driving force of Europe [239]

Getting together is a concept in socialism, not a concept in capitalism which is based on individualism. Dangerous ones are not North nor South America, nor EU and nor Asia, but, Africa. They can eat everythings as they have been hungry for a long time. West should be thankful to China for supporting Africa financially in last years.

So, we are just supposed to let out economy fail because we can't stoop to what some view as "socialism" against a country that won't give us fair access to it's markets when practically everything everyone owns in this country is "made in China?"

We should forget about the concepts of "socialism" and "capitalism." Quit being theoretical for a moment and think about what is in our best interest. Do we want to collapse, or do we want to even out the playing field?

What I am hoping is North America and the EU get it together and finally work on competing against Asia. That is why we are having so many problems! We import way too much from Asia and we make very little to sell to them. Naturally, there's an imbalance. Not enough is coming in, too much is going out.

It's time to get together and form a trade blockade. That way, we don't have these financial crisis and our standard of living doesn't devolve.

The answer is not to become more like Asia but to beat them at their own game.

Language / According to scientists when learning language it is necessary to look in face [14]

Allegedly that's the reason why people learn faster when they are abroad and have a contact with native speakers than when they study from books/casettes.

Not only that, but they can't rely on their native tongue while there. They are completely surrounded by a different language and culture so the mind has to conform or won't be able to get around very easily.

This accute adaptation strategy helps the mind to get in the habit of using the foreign language instead of the native one.
Once the mind is in the habit, it becomes easier to think in the new language.

Isthatu, that's something so many Americans are facing, and it is a real, serious problem for them. What do they do if they do not have health insurance? Who is going to pay the bill if they don't have enough money?

will you have to pay to see someone about it?

Yes, of course, but I don't mind paying something because nothing is for free. What I wish is for one deal, like, one sum for everything. If you don't have insurance, you have to pay for office visit, tests, prescriptions. It's really expensive. Nothing is easy for the uninsured.

Why not just have a package for the uninsured, so we can pay one sum and get everything for whatever condition it is? Like, if I have a bladder infection, I pay seventy five bucks to get it diagnosed and treated, with no other costs.

You must charge or people simply won't be motivated to do anything. Money is what is used to motivate human beings to move.
How much do you need to charge to get people to do something and how do you offset the costs so people have access? That's the dilemma.

In your opinion is medical care a basic human right?

In my opinion it is a basic human right, like food, clean drinking waters, shelter, community hygiene. Health care is something we all need to live.

At the same time, we should be responsible for our diets, bad habits and lack of exercise and should do more to prevent certain illnesses.

Life / The rising costs of food and fuel in Poland and the effects on disposable income/economy [177]

NYC is the exception. It's not a typically American city.

Subway, yes, but walking in NYC can take forever! Manhattan is quite spacious with lots of space between buildings. It's surprising how much space exists in a place with so many buildings. Even the buildings are blocky and take a while to walk around. I wouldn't recommend walking in Manhattan unless everything is within a few blocks radius or prepare to walk a marathon.

Also it's highly explosive

You would have to go to liquid hydrogen. You can get quite creative. There's ways to make it less explosive.

Yes, the idea is to get the hydrogen without releasing the carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

Yes, I agree, the insurance companies are horrible! They have made the costs of health care astronomical. If I want an exam I end up paying $300 without insurance just to hear I am healthy. It's ridiculous. Why should I pay that much just to hear nothing was wrong anyway. It's better to hear that because I probably couldn't afford the cure if something were wrong.

The question is, how can you get rid of the insurance monster? It's already here, it's got millions of jobs connected to it with real people working them. What do you do? How do you lay off all those people in the insurance industry?

We would just lose more jobs.

It would be better to cut salaries and find other ways to lower costs than to extinguish individual jobs.

If they did it that way it would be affordable only if they find ways to cut costs or it would end up costing billions. The govt would be propping up a multi billion dollar a year industry, healthcare/health insurance. It just wouldn't work.

One way it could possibly work is to shift the focus on the states instead of insisting the federal government do it all. That would break the costs into regional instead of national.

You mean pay as you go? What about if you need expensive tests? Prescriptions? Procedures? You will have some enormous bills that way...

Oh, I forgot, another way to lower costs. The most important one! Cut the pay of all the administrators ;)
That alone will make it a lot cheaper.

How much would supplimental cost? The problem isn't health insurance, it's the cost of health care...
A couple of ways to make it cheaper:

1. More lower paying positions like Certified Nurses Aides instead of RNs, LPNs, MDs and DOs.

2. More volunteers, like nuns. They used to do a lot of the nursing chores for free.

You have to pay taxes everywhere. Paying taxes in the US isn't so bad. You get plenty in return compared to other countries. It could be much worse. I hope it doesn't get worse because there are people who are trying to take us in that direction right now. They want to raise taxes on the middle class while cutting all the budgets for everything, roads, schools, etc.

History / Climate, weather event and Polish history [23]

The climate change lobby have achieved in giving us nuclear!

There's lots of opposition to nuclear which is why we need something better, like super conductor technology and hydrogen based energy.
Govts are pushing for nuclear but that only creates waste.

What we need is technology to figure out solutions to these problems. We need more scientists and less economists. Brilliant minds should go into science and technology.

When climate change happens we simply adjust but we need the technology to do it. Perhaps we can grow superfoods indoors? There are alternative food sources which are abundant in the lithosphere, but considered repulsive in many cultures. We should stop being so picky. One day, we may need to consume such monstrosities, like June bugs, because of food shortages and rising prices. I dread the day that becomes a reality but might do it rather than go without.
