News / Jesus Christ is Now Officially the King of Poland [164]

Has there been a vote

The devout majority of Catholic Poland has supported the enthronement of Christ. It was a gesture of solemn, spiritual signifcance which is not legally binding on the athies, agnos, cynics, hedos and other misfits content to live in a purely animal world. It's their choice. One can only pity and feel sorry for those poor misguided souls.

baby-boomers

You are so permeated with falsehoods that you wouldn't know hte truth if you tripped over it. A baby-boomer was born AFTER WW2, specifically in or after 1946. Another classic lie to add to your 4 sixpacks a day allegation. HB, you are utterly hopeless!

can't be deported

They can if someone commits an offence such as leading an organised crime group of fifth columnists out ot undermine Poland's dignity, moral integrity and international image. Some on here (mainly HB and his sidekicks) are perpetually downgrading and undermining Poland, Poles and all things Polish. A good prosecutor oculd easily make a case out of it.

If the Poland-bashers hate this place so much why do they stick around? Most likely they are being handsomely paid by foreign agents to do what they are doing. Putin's agents of influence are everywhere

History / The ongoing de-Germanisation of the Nazis and the Holocaust adds to Poland's Responsibility [124]

Ukrainians and Slovaks

You are conveniently forgetting the Jewish collabroators. The Jewish elders in the Judenrat facilitated and accelerated the holocaust by supplying the Germans with neat lists of Jews and their addresses so the Krauts knew exactly where to find them. And the Jewish ghetto police beat, kicked and otherwise mistreated their own compatriots far more brutally then the Nazis ever did. What does that prove? That during wars and other violent conflagrations sheer survival is the prime concern of most and turns people into beasts regardless of their nationality.

History / The ongoing de-Germanisation of the Nazis and the Holocaust adds to Poland's Responsibility [124]

The de-Germanization of the Nazis and the Holocaust, the increasingly German-less Holocaust in eastern Europe, and frequent allegations about "Polish death camps" are readily traceable to the unwritten 1960 gentlemens' agreement between Adenauer and Ben Gurion made in a NY hotel: you stop referring to Germans in your Holocaust narrative and we will bankroll Israel!

As a result, Poles have been increasingly portrayed as co-responsible for the Holocaust, thereby effectively diluting German guilt for their unmistakably German "Endlösung". That includes standard Holocaustspeak including "coming to terms with the past"-Vergangenheitsbewältigung in German). Somehow, rarely is anyone asked to "come to terms" with their past wrongs against Poles.

to look down on

Oh no, the loudmouth, glarehead Liar Laureate is back! Things around here had become so calm, non-neurotic and normal and different topics, even controversial ones, could be discussed without his toxic lies, distortions, provocations and calumnies. Here we thought he was gone for good, having fled the country or having been deported for his incessant, mean-spirited, demoralising, fifth-column-style attacks on Poland, Poles and all things Polish. Time and again people have wondered: if he hates this place so much, why the hell is he sticking around so long? One explanation was that Poland had been his safe haven from servers of Commonwealth arrest warrants breathing down his neck.

plenty of sources for this information

Then why even have PF in the first place? Isn't it supposed to be a platform for lively exchange on i.a. current affairs. Sure, anyone can read articles and scholarly tracts online but that does not preclude ad hoc discussion.

you're trying to put people

These concepts exists and I did not create them. Categories have always existed and always will. Those infected with the distorted PC ideology try to ignore that fact, but it cannot be wished away. Otherwise sociology and statistics should

be done away with. Studies are constantly beign conducetd not just on people in general but on specific target groups: homeless, middle class, different ethnicities, income groups, generations, etc.

Trump's "victory" will merely embolden

...As well as put the globalists, one-worlders, nation-haters, foreign-lovers and anti-patriots in their place. It's about time! Haven't we had enough of that pathetic Soros, Michnik and Schultz-stlye self-styled "progressivism" and assorted codswallop?! The people have spoken and do not wnat to be told what to believe and what to do by a clique of lefty loons who claim only they know what's best for society.

Polish "late" millennials

Could you please characterise them a bit -- describe their overall image, goals, values, political leanings, lifestyles, general attitudes towards their country, parents, religion, etc.?

Life / Millennials even worse than baby-boomers? [60]

Are you talking about

Baby boomers were born after 1946, I believe, and i am referring chiefly to the USA. Today they are approaching retirement age or have already retired. During their lifetime growth, constant progress and comfortable middle-class homes were the norm for many. Some rebelled against their parents' middle-class mores and creature comforts and became hippies for a spell. When they realised this was a dead-end proposition, they had a bath, cut their hair, jumped into business suits and became yuppies, corporate workahholics. But their youthful rebellion left in them a residue of leftist-liberal leanings which the leftstream media began imposing on all of society as the one true norm. The less advantaged segments of Western society (not only in Poland and the USA) have had their fill of these privileged elites telling them what is "politically correct" and what to do.

Less is known about the millennials (born afer 1980) but some PF-ers may be able to fill in the missing pieces. Are the millennnials simply direct successors to the baby-boomers or do they differ?

Trump

ANTI-TRUMP HYSTERIA -- AHISTORICAL AND FUTILE!
The anti-Trump marches, demos, editorials and utterances in America and elsewhere in the Western world are a normal emotional knee-jerk reaction to the shock and surprise caused by popular rejection of one's preferred candidate and public support for the opposite side. But continuing the protests indefinitely is foolish, futile and counterproductive, Unless the protesters plan to violently overthrow the government, there is no constitutional way to reverse the election outcome.

Even more surprising is the anti-Trump hysteria on the part of educated people, even academics who, one should think, would not openly display such an ahistorical approach. They seem to have forgotten the basic lesson of history that EVERYTHING PASSES!

Washington's liberal political-corporate establishment and its compliant lefstrream media had somehow ahistorically believed they were preordained to rule the roost forever. The now ascending conservative wave goes far beoynd Trump's victory. BREXIT in the United Kingdom, Poland's conservative Law and Justice govenrment, growing rightist movements in France, Germany, Austria, Holland and elsewhere show that more and more people have had their fill of leftist elties telling them what's good for them.

But today's now ascending conservatives and popiulists too will eventually pass. And either the pendulum will swing back to the the Obama-Clinton-style liberal option or some other alternative no-one can possibly envisage at present will take over. But that too will last for only a limited period of time!

Merkel

I had assumed perhaps too hastily that Merkel was only trying to be Mrs Good Lass in expiation for her nation's Nazi past, and that may have indeed played a part. She was also hopeful that the refugee influx woudl provide the industrial manpower Germany needs, and her memories of the post-war wave of Turks, Kurds and Yugoslavs was mostly favourable. They may have had their own neighbourhoods but they were not out to convert the Germans to anything. Perhaps she had simply assumed things would be the same this time round.

Better Trump

Today Trump & Putin were in touch by telephone. They agreed to start a political dialogue only after Trump's official inauguration.
Some are worried that Trump will strike a deal with Littlte Tsar Vlad. O'Bama saw a democrat in Putin's eyes and wanted to "reset" relations with Moscow.

Only Crimea belatedly cured him of his naivete. But Trump is a tough guy, knows human nature and may well be the one to rein him in?

the choice, the different flavors

You forgot to mention that American processed food is brimfull of chemical additives: spoilage retardants, synthetic aromas, flavour enhancers, stabilisers, acidity regulators, emulsifiers, artificial food colouring, etc. Processed meat is pumped full of soybean solution (to increase its bulk) and often contains many of the above-mentioned as well as carcinogenic smoke flavouring; raw meat comes from GMO-fed livestock and contains a level of additives (growth hormones, antibiotics and Lord knows what all) unacceptable in the EU. BON APPÉTIT!

fascism born in Italy?

Of course, but the poster is taking his cues from Uncle Joe. Since the Soviet socialism-building construct was unable to oppose national socialism (Nazism) by name, because it migth confuse the masses, Stalin imposed the fascist label on the Third Reich and all things pertaining thereto. Crudely scrawled on the sides of Lend-Lease Dodges and Studebakers was the ubiquitous slogan: Смерть фашистам!

soon to be leader of the free world

US presidents are so hamstrung by checks and balances, restricted by government bureaucracy and surrounded by experts and advisers that their room for manoeuvre is quite limited. His cabinet selections show a thouhgtful and mature approach to his choice of associates -- obviously at the advice of those in the know. It is his entourage whot will gradually teach him the ropes, and his personal ambition to be good at everything he undertakes will do the rest. The frustrated clintonesque losers may feel the need to let off steam and demonise Trump, but the stature and dignity of the presidential office will probably help shape his official deportment, turning his flamboyant playboy and eccentric billionaire past into a bit of colourful history.

Trump's social halitosis

Polish TV tonight showed scenes of an anti-Trump march in the US by disgruntled Clinton backers. If you thought KOD marches were scummy, this one was an even motleyer collection of weirdos and riffraff. One placard in Fraktur lettering read "Mein Trumpf", another marcher proudly waved a red hammer & sickle flag and a LGBT rainbow banner was not far behind. The screaming, screeching protesters looked like a freak show featuring anarchists, female sexist pigs (aka femi-fascists), homo agitators and other rather unsavoury types.. There were very few "wholesome average Americans" in the lot.

oppose existing establishments

In so many ways the 2015 Polish elections were precursors to what has just happened in the USA. The Brexit vote is also instructive. Voters simply decided they were sick and tired of being told by the self-styled "Politically Correct" establishment elites what was good for them when they knew it wasn't, And how racist or hyper-nationalist or religiously primitive they were - if they disagreed.

In all three cases, the voters voted for change - in honest and democratic elections. Plato's idea - that people should be ruled by philosopher kings who 'know better' - was rejected.

[Moved from]: Is Trump the American Kaczyński?

In many ways the principles, slogans and plans Donald Trump promoted during his campaign have coincided with those of Poland's good-change government and PiS leader Kaczyński. Both men patriotically emphasise the good of their country first and foremost and are less enthusiastic about globalism, one-worldism and supranational organisations. Both oppose existing establishments -- the Washington political elite and the post-communist clique posing as III RP. Both want to give a fair shake to average citizens whose interests and views often differ considerably from those imposed by self-styled elites. Both are in favour of God, country and family, oppose leftist social engineering and experimentation including the promotion of perversity.

There are also differences. The Republican Party has traditonally been linked to big business, but for vote-getting purposes Trump soft-pedalled his party's pro-corporate image, emphasing conservative values and the needs of average citizens and families instead. An indigenous corporate Poland is still in its infancy. Trump wants to bring industry and jobs back to America, PiS want to build a viable indigenous industry free of foreign domination.

The two leaders also differ in terms of character. Trump is a two-fisted multi-millionaire businessman who likes to wallow in luxury and is inclined towards flamboyance, ostentation, bombast, even buffonery. By comapriosn, Kaczyński is poor as a church mouse, holds a PhD in Law, is modest in personal habits to a fault, restrained in deportment and totally devoted to the cause of Poland.

Trump remains an unknown quantity. But the PiS government in their mere one year in office have already dispalyed their legislative dynamism, tackling many unresolved issues which their predecessors left in their wake following years of scmasterism and neglect.

PC

There is more and more evidence that PC is the cancerous contagion of the 21st century. If they already are able to muzzle free speech through intimidation, slander, pressure and black-balling, what will they do when they get even more totalitarian to non-compliant dissidents: jail, exile, firing squad. lethal injection?

What about the US

Up until the end of WW2 it was observed as Armistice Day, because it was an armistice (not capitulation) that and ended WW1. After WW2 it got renamed Veterans' Day and so it has remained down to the present. The point is that those enjoying the hospitlaity of hte Polish nation should show respect to their hosts by observing Polish Independence Day. There'd be nothing wrong with them also dispalying their own national flag.

P.S. If Scotland ever leaves Great Britian, will St Andrew's cross get removed from the Union Jack?

News / Facebook censors nationalists and their planned 11 Nov. march in Poland [50]

Poland's Justice Ministry is considering legal action to stop Facebook blocking nationalist organisations' and their members' pages, a senior official has said.
Deputy Justice Minister Patryk Jaki accused the social media giant of censorship, which he said was "outrageous".
Facebook's reported decision to block the pages comes ahead of Poland's Independence Day, which falls on 11 November and is typically marked by marches organised by nationalist organizations and other patriotic groups and individuals in the country's capital.

Nationalists are planning a 5 November protest outside the social media site's Warsaw offices.
Jaki criticised Facebook for allowing posts which are vulgar, offensive to the Catholic Church or favourably refer to communist ideology whilst banning "Polish patriotic slogans". One FB group calls itself "F*ck Cahtolicism", and somehow no-one has a problem with that.

"Only one side of the political dispute is being harassed ... Something is evidently not right with freedom and democracy," Jaki said.
