Life / Vertu (or iPhone) in Poland ?? [19]

Besides it being a waste of money, I hear some are rubbish (the constellation anyway). It should be able to be used anywhere in Europe. I believe its a tri band GSM. If you're on a ntwk that supports your device, then you'll have no problems.

I usually pick up Era automatically.

The iPhone is a quad band, so, you'll have no problems.

Travel / Hometown / Vacation pictures Poland [201]

I wanted to post some more pics but I don't know how to put more than two into one post... :/

You can sign up at a picture hosting site ie. photobucket. They're usually free. Once you upload pics to the site, it'll provide you with a link sth like this:

You can add a few per post. Just don't post too many because the page will take forever to load. Good luck.

USA, Canada / Do many Polish people in America hate Americans? [592]

"Hate" toward Americans comes from frustration. There are two obvious reasons of it. First: Educated Poles who come here due to the language problem usually are employed way below their abilities and consequently after the initial period not very happy.

So, I'm assuming that you either have these types of friends only or you live in Los Angeles :) Where are all these things that I "accumulate"? I work hard, make money and I don't have superfluities. We all don't live like you describe.

I appreciate your honest opinion as to why the Pl feel "hatred" towards us. If they're unable to look past the typical Plastic American stereotype, then they don't really understand what most Americans are like. I am one of many who doesn't need luxuries.

Cheers.

USA, Canada / Sending Mail from USA to Piekielnik, PL and back [6]

Well, you'd have to know what the rate would be to send a letter to the USA.

Just return an envelope with your address and USA at the bottom

Put POLAND after Piekielnik

History / Polish weapons and militaria - got any? [153]

Ozi

Have you looked on Ebay? Also, I've been to several antique shops in Poznan and some of them had old PL military items.

Wroclaw boy: I have a Nazi WW2 flag that my grandfather captured. I think there's also SS blood on it. No chance of giving that up though :) Let the guy have his thread. Everyone has Nazi memoribilia, they were losers. You can buy that stuff online. I think there's a lot in Russia too.

I love the Polish.

Life / Fashion and Style in Poland [174]

Ok. The skaters/emo's wear girls jeans and are a xtra- slim fit. I think he's talking about grown men that wear jeans they've worn since elementary school.

I don't think there are many shooting ranges in Poland....That I know of anyway. If you do some research, maybe you can find a gun club near there.

Study / Living in POZNAN in the Eskulap dormitory - big deal? [47]

WEll, there are fat girls everywhere, so I hope it doesn't disappoint you when you see them in Poland too. Yes, there quite a few attractive women and your eyes can be busy. Juust remember to keep your tongue in your mouth...and mind your drooling ;)

That's PoznaƄ-Krzesiny Airbase. The Poznan £awica (Intl. Airport) was also an airforce base and also the oldest in Poznan.
There are a few Americans as well as other international students. I've run into Americans, but not as many as I thought I would. Last trip I didn't hear/see any. Are you worried about not being able to communicate? Believe me, it's nice to get away from Americans ;)

im considering moving to poznan for work and im a young guy so..how is the party scene here? are there alot of young people? how are the girls? where i live, better looking girls are hard to come by...i dont want to move to more of the same thing!

The party scene is nice. There's a good variety of clubs/pubs and there's a good chance you'll find something to your liking. There are a lot of young people and a beautiful girl will not be hard to come by at all. If you're from the US you'll notice that the ratio of women to men is the opposite :) you'll have a good time......guaranteed.

What are you into? There are a few suggestions somewhere in the forum, so let me know what you're looking for.

UK, Ireland / Time for the Poles from the UK to go home [437]

There is a simple answer to all this.

Like the taxes they pay right? I know plenty of people working, going to school and paying the same taxes you do.

What are you trying to acomplish here winston? You need to be discussing this with your govt.

Newsflash::::People come here to learn about Poland:::::
