A little out of my range.
Perhaps some of the usually very helpful people on PF will reply to ya.
Anyways, best of luck with it!

Work / 5000zl per month, netto - Would this be enough salary in Gliwice? [12]

Even if you have to pay ZUS 7000 Gross pr. month will turn out to be 5000 NET.

2000 zt after paying some other stuff and send money home

I wouldn't advice you to try and send money home.
Money earned in Poland should be spend in Poland due to the prices. Well actually this depend where you send the money too, but in case your from western europe it just wouldn't make sense.

But you can live on 2000zl pr. month. like smurf said not great, but you'll survive.

Travel / Great places to ski in Poland [16]

I don't understand why everyone here is bashing the skiing opportunities in Poland.
I go often to Male ciche, Bialka and Kasina Wielka.

Yes, the slopes are very limited most places only one slope. But then again it is dirt cheap and the slopes are quiet decent.
If you go into skiing in Poland with the mind that it will be like in Italy, Austria, Switz etc. then off course you will be disappointed.

Real Estate / Long term apartment average rent in Krakow? [11]

appreciate the person's name so I can use your reference

I do not have it actually, as the guy who have showed me the apt. signed the contact with me etc. I do no longer have any contact with.

Now if I have any issues I just deal with some secretary at L&L (very helpful though)

Also you can go to Krakow.gumtree.pl and use the google chrome browser and translate the whole page into English.
On Gumtree they have waay bigger variety, also real nice flats.

Work / Born in Denmark, want to teach English in Poland - possible? [5]

And finally, if you can give me any advice or tips regarding my choice, I'd appreciate it! I'm not 100% determined on it, in fact I'm quite confused and doubtful :(

Hi Fred,

I'm a native Dane living in Krakow, I as many other foreigners here works in a BPO center. The job is good, and the pay is even better as we are very few Dane's in Krakow, but a high demand for us.

If you are interested in moving to Poland, either think about this career, or like Gumishu said, think about teaching Danish instead (IMO gr8 idea)

We are even a few Scandinavians in Krk, thinking to start a small Scandinavian language school here but it is still work in progrees ;-)

Anyways held og lykke med det!

Life / sweet words to use in Poland with shopkeepers [14]

Maybe stop to be nice if they are not nice to you.

So your're telling me, that if somebody is not being nice to you, you should just be an A hole right back at them?

What a great and positive perspective on life!

I often chat up (with my limited Polish) the ladies/guys behind the counter at my local shops, and they love it. Nobody else does it to them, so I can tell they really appreciate it. Obviously I do not do this if there are 50 ppl in line behind, but if u stand as one of the only people there, go for it buddy.

Work / Polish Born-Native English Speaker Chances of Finding a Job [10]

mangobanana

Sure no problem, I am working as a Junior accountant for one of the Outsourcing firms in Krakow.
I am (lucky) as I am a native Danish speaker which means your salary will be very comfortable.
But in case English for example is your only asset, they will not pay very well.

But its always worth a try in case you can't find anything else :-)

Love / So I'm an Arab Muslim and freaking out! I'm about to meet my Polish girlfriend's parents [21]

I think that man being head of the house is also in Judaism and Christianity. So it has nothing to do with us being Muslim. Also, being head of the house is overrated, it just means that I am screwed for having more responsibilities :P

You sound like a very intelligent guy, so religion a side I believe you'll do just fine with her parents don't worry so much about it buddy!

Work / Polish Born-Native English Speaker Chances of Finding a Job [10]

Lol desperate for good English speakers? They are everywhere! Many of them also with international experience, which trust me (as a BPO employee) they don't really care about.

2nd. 4000 pr. month as JUST an english speaker, impossible. Not even Italian/Spanish/German speakers are paid this amount.

Mango go for teaching instead.

Life / Living Costs and life in Poznan? [70]

As for housing, I expect to pay something between 1100 to 1500 zloty furnished. Is this an ok estimate?

With that salary paying anything more than 1100 ZL for housing would be overkill.
Find a room in an Apt. or something instead and pay like 800 ZL.

As an expat in Poland, living for anything below 2000ZL after rent etc. is quiet low. You will live a decent live though with 2000, but that's also around the minimun.

Work / Polish Born-Native English Speaker Chances of Finding a Job [10]

I am mainly interested in teaching.

Your welcome.
Hmm as I am not an english teacher (i know there is quiet alot on this forum) and as far as I have read in other treads, I believe the salary for a English teacher at a better school is around what I wrote above 4-5000 brut. pr. month

Work / Visa for Americans to teach in Poland [3]

Does anyone know anything about this?

No you do not have to be outside of the EU for 90 days. As long as you leave the EU within 90 days to go to a non EU country and return you are alright.

Sometimes they will be suspicious if you lets say spend 90 days in Poland, and then go to Ukraine for 1 day, then its different.

But as you have done travel to Bueno Aires and then return after a month or more you are okay.

Work / Polish Born-Native English Speaker Chances of Finding a Job [10]

I have enough money saved to support myself while I search for quality jobs.

Well I'd say the chance of you finding a ''quality job'' is quiet high, just know that a quality job in Poland mostly pays no more than 4-5000 ZL brutto pr. month

You have some experince espesically from other countries which gives you an advantage over most of the young student's here who also has a economy degree from a university.

Travel / KRAKOW, Where to meet young people? (18-22 yrs) [17]

Hey Alex,

I was in similar position. I'm 21 and from Denmark.
There are no simple place to go to meet such unless you go to school.
It's quiet easy to establish contact with younger females, but male's in Poland before they are in their mid 20's seems to be very reserved.

Either way, if you ever wanna grab a beer or such just let me know.
