News / US Military: The Army of Poland is crap. [124]

The USA has been in many combats since the second war , so its hardly suprising they are a little more expert than the Polish army...

This was my take on it too. Kinda like this says, they're old school fighters:

According to Time, the Polish top-down approach is an ill-suited strategy for fighting a counter-insurgency campaign.

I bet it's great for morale of the guys (US and coalition) to hear such things.

One day maybe the brass will learn to shut up!

Maybe the Media will learn to shut up.

Life / During winter in Poland, does petrol in the car freezes [60]

dashboard cleaner anti-static spray is a light oil and should stop car doors from freezing

There are a number of automotive vinyl and leather treatments that work well on rubber weather stripping for this. Over here the best known is Armor All. It's good to treat your weather stripping from time to time even when freezing isn't a problem. Keeps them from drying out.

Sure washer fluid, being 99% water, freezes in very cold weather. Of course it does, says so right on the bottle it's only good down to a certain temp. And it certainly freezes long before fuel will.

Just admit it was bad advice, a poorly thought idea and we'll move on.

Love / Getting to know a Polish Man who's first time he'e ever been in the USA [12]

"I like her BUT she has a child

I've heard guys say this. Heck, I've said this.

She's already asked him out once (not good in my book). They went out and had a nice time. So the ice is fully broken. If he were interested he'd ask her out again. He hasn't.

He might just not like her... he might not like aggressive/ assertive girls... Or it might be the kid thing.

This thread is a month and a half old. It would interesting to hear an update.

amazed to see people lighting log fires under trucks to heat them up enough to start , and even more amazed to watch em throwing buckets of benzine on the axles and gearboxes and lighting it , and then chucking more on to get a good blaze going....

i saw a Lada go up in flames after the owner got a bit too handy with the petrol to warm it up....

I've wondered about wires and rubber and other parts under there that couldn't take the flames and heat...

Travel / In Poland, Can I cash an American Check? [14]

Do you have a Citibank account in the states? If so the branch in Poland should be just like going to a branch here.

The system here really just jumped the whole check thing and went straight in to cards and internet banking.

This is somewhat interesting.

USA, Canada / American...Polish Resident...Returning to the land of milk and honey [103]

the palate is a bit different, not too big on spicy, I have no idea how you can eat wings that aren't spicy.

Yeah, they have to be spicy. But I don't go for the traditional "Buffalo" flavor so much. I prefer Cajun BBQ flavor. I can eat two dozen of them yummy little suckers! And blue cheese. Each one must be dunked in blue cheese dressing!

I'll be in the states in 3 weeks, I'll have to check it out.

Don't they have WalMarts in Poland?

2 things I can't get in Poland.

You mean every bar there doesn't sell yummy chicken wings either?? Man, maybe Poland really is behind the times!

Don't really care much for the brand name

I would never expect you to agree with anyone completely. (You have a real problem with that) :s
I only tossed in the brand names thing because FW seems convinced WalMart only sells rags.
I don't shop there often but their stuff is the same as elsewhere. And cheap.

USA, Canada / Expat Poles swearing allegiance to the US - how did you feel? [157]

you make classic (Eastern European) English written errors

You've no room to talk, Mr. Trepid Water. (snicker)

Why don't you get a stamp. You will not have to type it each time.

I like to recognize peeps who serve in our country's military. I feel indebted to them. Why don't you record your tired "wahwahwah America is so terrible!" song and post it on YouTube?

Why can't people like you, guesswho, and other self-righteous republicans allow other people express their opinion without branding them as evil.

We do all the time. We also jump curmudgeons who enjoy all America has to offer while p!ssing on her at every chance. Seriously, GTFO and go back to Poland if you hate it here so much. We won't miss you. And take all that childish Liberalism you're forever spouting with you.

USA, Canada / Expat Poles swearing allegiance to the US - how did you feel? [157]

I must admit, I don't understand this either.

America declares war on Iraq. America kicks ass. The end.

Their call - it's perhaps a moral issue, but I fail to see why a war needs to be "legal". It's war!

Quite right. And if peeps want to get technical, our president declares war and it gets approved by our Congress. So nothing was "illegal" about it.

Right there you proved that discussing things with you is pointless. Maybe instead of creating a thread where you pretend that you're curious about other ideas and perceptions you should create a Wroclaw Boy Monologue thread where you tell everyone else how you view the world and if someone doesn't agree than he/she is "brain dead fcuk head."

Took you long enough to figure out that angry idiot. :s

Well this idiot statement:

only if you have untreated chips.

Would seem to contradict this statement:

I'm well aware of the expand / retract properties of freeze and thaw glass

Just to prove it so I think you should go outside right now and throw a pot of boiling water on the roof of your car and see what happens to all the windows as it cascades down over the car. In the name of science, of course. ;)

im not a bloody wind screen specialist

A cold window glass doesn't have to be chipped for warm water to break it. :s
You skip that day in second grade science class?

USA, Canada / Expat Poles swearing allegiance to the US - how did you feel? [157]

It was an honor and a pleasure and I'm proud to be a part of this nation"

Amen. Good man. And thanks. ;)

Its very simple. If one comes to America and does not support it.. No big deal.. Get the hell out.

Exactly.
What we need to do also is evict some of the traitors in our midst.

If that isnt brainwashing i dont know what is.

Answer B. You don't know what is.

Patriotism gets me every time

I'm guessing someone like you doesn't feel loyalty to anything.

With all due respect

You have no respect for anything or anyone. See here:

Shut up idiot.

...said the biggest angry idiot here.

Id like the opportunity to live in the USA

Stay over there. We don't want your kind.

History / Effects of Living under Communism in Poland [58]

Even if it is something that on the surface seems reasonable, like “tolerance is good”

This has become the common selling technique of the Left. They can make anything sound good while working towards underhanded ends.

I saw a really interesting programme a while ago about truckers on the Trans-Siberian Highway

I saw something like this. Was it called World's Most Dangerous Roads or something like that? It's like Iceroad Truckers...
