Language / jeśli OR jeżeli [13]

I omitted "for me" on purpose.I know you wrote "for me" but I didn't include it in quote because I was directing it at Jon and OP.

But why choose one and not the other?

You can simply pick whichever sounds better to you.For instance I prefer "further" over "farther" because I somehow associate "farther" with "fart".And I prefer " i-ther" over "e-ther" because to me "i-ther" simply sounds better.Don't know why though.

But why choose one and not the other?

It is up to you.Just like with pronunciation of "either".Don't know how to write it phonetically but I guess you know what I mean.

"jeżeli" is more formal

It's not.
Edit:Better example would be "further" and "farther" I guess.

Life / Rising cost of food across the globe. How much is a weekly shop in Poland now in 2013. [53]

And salaries are low because Poland was always technologically lacking to the most advanced countries.

What does it have to do with anything you retard?Explain why a Polish dude working at FIAT assembly line in Bielsko Biala makes 1/3 of what Italian dude makes working at the exactly same FIAT assembly line in Torino?Or cashiers in supermarkets or even guys working with shovels.Do they have more technologically advanced shovels in the West? ******* retard.

Average for Europe and increasingly treated with pesticides.

They were always treated with some kind of pesticides. What do you think?Anyway,I compare them with "plastic"/juiceless American fruits and veggies and Polish ones would be sold here as ORGANIC at twice the regular price.

They pay no tax and have huge amounts of spuds.

Still,I doubt they make any money at 25 gr (less than US dime!)/kg!

Well the vegetables are way over priced. 1 Avocado £1, small pack of blue berries £2, chicken to roast £5, 4 btls badoit water £3.50 etc

Poland is a country of cheap and very good quality domestic vegetables and fruits but imported food is expensive.I would even say that some veggies are TOO CHEAP in PL.Last summer when in PL I stopped by a road side stall were potatoes were sold and bought I think 15 or 20 kg bag of potatoes for 5 PLN.Yes,5 PLN for the whole bag! It's a shame,I don't understand how farmers can make any money at this price.I don't remember what I was paying for strawberries and raspberries but they weren't expensive either.

Edit:I think strawberries were 4 PLN/kg.

Language / How similar are Polish and Romanian languages? [75]

As to your hatred, unfortunately it is not shared by all the bums and crooks from Rumania who steal and beg in France and who seem to really like it since it is impossible to stop them.

You are confusing Romanians with Gypsies from Romania. They are not the same.

History / What do Polish think of Gen. Pilsudski? [12]

Hitler considered Pilsudski as a great lider and he even attended the funeral:

I don't think Hitler attended funeral. As far as I remember Ribbentrop was sent to Warsaw.

Life / Do Polish people like Turkish people? [66]

During the long years of partition the Turkish sultan continued to call for the ambassador from Lechistan.

Yes,but he was doing it mainly to annoy Russian envoy.

History / WAS KATYŃ GENOCIDE? Polish officers were killed [237]

So why would NKVD use a german guns? What for?

For comfort.I remember seeing a doc or reading about Katyn and the killers received Walther pistols because it has much lesser recoil than Nagant. It would tire them to much to shoot 22000 with Nagants.

UK, Ireland / Why can't unemployed Polish people on benefits just leave UK and go home please? [240]

I'm not against you guys in anyway!!!

Jon and many other posters on PF are not Polish. In fact Jon is British like you(?).

.Poles are not a danger to UK.

Their grand children will be British.

I am a frustrated british citizen who is finding it very difficult to stay above my money and debts,

You are certainly entitled to be frustrated but if it makes you feel better things are tough all over and there's plenty of frustrated British,Polish,US and other citizens.

guess life's not fair eh?

It's not.

Life / Grass is always greener? Poland experience. [69]

why do you think Poland was given such a big handout?

A handout? What handout? We pay for this "handout" every day.*************** foreigners robbing us blind and repeating like a mantra that they are giving us something.

Life / Grass is always greener? Poland experience. [69]

im looking at world bank / imf economic data. what else should i be referencing?

Just talk to one of THREE MILLION economic refugees who recently left this oasis of happiness and economic growth aka Poland.

) its the World Bank counting, and if there is fraud, you think Poland might hide debt better then the USA? *shakes head*

USA doesn't hide anything. NIPless finance minister of PL does.

please show me the reference, I dont see this fact anywhere, and want to consider it against the population and land area.

Just google it.

no, not within 15k of a city center like Warsaw. you cannot.

Yes you can.

it is, i provided gigabit internet (which you cannot even get in the USA unless you live in Google's Kansas experiment zone) and Ikea's own website prices in each country as my examples. What are your examples?

What does it matter?I don't even know how fast is my net connection but i know it is fast enough. Also in some cases infrastructure in PL is more modern than in some more developed countries simply because Poland has skipped some periods of technological development.

growing economy (whoever runs your finance decisions in the government seems to be doing a good job) you avoided the recession and your debt to gdp is ~50%, and Poland has been largest recipient of EU funds.

I see you have some insider's knowledge, huh?Well, the reality is more than a bit different.

your debt to gdp is ~50%,

That depends on who is counting.

Poland has been largest recipient of EU funds.

With the lowest amount per capita.

very nice people, friendly,

Some are some are not.

- ridiculously low cost of living. nice houses for zlt 700,000 - 1.5mln.

You can't find a nice house for half a million USD?Really?

Everything else is 1/3 to 1/4th cost.

It is not.
and so on ..

Genealogy / Information on Potopchuk Wilno, Poland [7]

Highly doubtful.I can bet on Soklaoska (would be hard to even pronounce it) being originally Sokólska and Paplaska (this one sounds funny) could be Popławska or something like that.

News / Poland A and Ukraine B. Compare how far Poland has advanced. [282]

That difference is nothing new, it existed before 1989 as well. I wouldn't say that Poland advanced much, advanced some.

I was going to say that. For a Soviet citizen grey communist Poland was already a western country.

Food / Poland's favorite hard-to-find American snacks? [18]

I've entertained the thought of exchanging jars of Taco Hell hot sauce, for delicious Polish chocolates from Lublin. Not sure if many folks here are willing to trade their actual name & address with other PF members...

Pretty much every Polish brand is easily available in Chicago.

She didn't say everyone in Poland liked them, she said they were Poland's favorite well-liked snack.

Pretty much same thing as it is/should be obvious that there is no snack "everyone in Poland (or anywhere else for that matter) likes".

She didn't say everyone in Poland liked them, she said they were Poland's favorite well-liked snack.

I don't know what's your definition of favorite but to me it means best selling.
