Food / What's your favorite Polish beer? [870]

here is how to deep fry beer-----The beer is placed inside a pocket of salty, pretzel-like dough and then dunked in oil at 375 degrees for about 20 seconds, a short enough time for the confection to remain alcoholic.

When diners take a bite the hot beer mixes with the dough in what is claimed to be a delicious taste sensation

sounds good enough to try!!!!!!!

Food / WHY IN POLAND PEOPLE DON'T USE ICE? [142]

I guess the only solution is to get some ice packs and freeze them overnight, then carry them with you during the day whenever you want an ice cold drink.I use them when I go shopping and they last for hours.

Food / WHY IN POLAND PEOPLE DON'T USE ICE? [142]

It's not the heat that is the problem----It's the humidity--that is what the a/c removes from the air.

Travel / Mushroom picking with guides in the Poznań area? [4]

Warta Wildlife Vacations-----I'm sure these folks can help-their ad says "We run a small organic eco-farm in a heavily forested and unspoilt area in Lubuskie, in the far west of Poland. One of our seasonal sidelines are wild forest mushrooms. We organise guided mushroom picking trips into the forest and also pick and supply wild mushrooms in their dried form for export to kitchens and restaurants all over the world.

The forests around us are full of literally dozens of different types of mushrooms. And if you join us on one of our guided mushroom tours you will find and be able to pick many of these."

Related: Apple Pie Shotz Recipe REQUEST

I am looking for a recipe for a polish style drink... I know that it's made with Spirytus, Apple Juice, Cinnamon and Sugar, and that it's served in shot glasses and goes by the name of [b][b]Apple Pie Shotz. I have the ingredients but wonder if anyone out there knows how much of each ingredient and if it needs to sit for a while after it's made. My husband makes mioduwka, so I kinda know how it goes, but thought to reach out for help. Dziekuje, Lusia.

Google "nalewka z jablek". Using apple juice is a shortcut. Use real apples or quince fruit if available.

Food / Differences between famous obwarzanki from Krakow & bagels? [5]

here is something I found very interesting about these bagels.-----Famous Obwarzanki from Kraków, which were also known as "bajgle" before the war, are a traditional Hebrew snack which is served on a Jewish holiday called Shavuot. Traditional bagel is sprinkled with poppy-seeds. Today, sellers offer a whole variety of them; apart from poppy-seed there are also sesame seed, rock salt and even pizza sprinkles.

Food / Bekon or boczek? [21]

Its' like comparing apples to oranges.there is a big difference in the cut of meat for bacon and back bacon.Bacon is very fatty and back bacon is mostly meat.
