Language / Pimsleur's Polish Lessons [38]

Michael Thomas is also good, if you don't mind picking up his accent, though he doesn't do Polish as far as I know.

FYI
It's a native Polish woman doing the Polish course.

Language / Pimsleur's Polish Lessons [38]

That's a good question and one that highlights the difficulties of the Polish language quite well.

I'd like one of our regular helpers to tell us.

I'll help them out with the layout at least:

Anglia -
Angielsku -
Angielski -
Angielskim -
Angielskiego -
Angielskie -
Angielska -
Angielsko -
Angielszczyzna -

Phew! All they all grammatical variants? or did I mess up?

next...

Polski -
Polska - Poland
Polak - Polish Man
Polka - Polish Woman
Polonia -
Polskiego -
Polskie -
Polsce -

Not my best attempt at a question I know but this is rather confusing :P

Language / Pimsleur's Polish Lessons [38]

I'm not a big fan of pimsleur.

Me niether.

I came across this audiobook narrated by Jolanta Cecula using the Michel Thomas method of learning and I have learned more in a few hours than I have in weeks using other products.

Before anyone says anything I am in no way affiliated with anything to do with the book or the company who sells it, I'm just offering advice!

You can find out more on one of the links below.

(Not sure if its correct but I'll give it a go)
Don't tear a cat! - Meaning: Don't start a problem - or something along those lines! No doubt someone will correct me!

Language / About Byki - how to use free lists? [12]

I take it you are using the "Before you know it" program?

Download the lists and store the files on your desktop then go to the "View list" tab at the top.

Next select "Change list" (Bottom of screen)

Then "From File"

Find the lists you saved on the desktop and your done.

:)

Edit: You download the lists from the website.

UK, Ireland / A collection of noimmigration's threads or "STAY AWAY from BRITAIN" [978]

rightly so, housing authorities should not be giving top housing to eastern europeans. if you are renting from the council ALL immigrants should be put inthe eastend. we didnt ask them to come here.

noimmigration,

What are you trying to achive on this site? Do you honestly think that you will make any difference to the people who use this site and they will just pack up and go back to Poland because of your words? get real.

I'm quite happy for a Polish person to take an English persons job or house if the English person if too damn lazy to get off their arse and stop getting job seekers allowence shagging young girls and feeding the current culture of the uk's jobless chavs.

I'm generalising but you know what it's a lot better than what you are doing.

I bet you read the mirror don't you?

Go figure.

Life / Is it me or do any guys in Poland not have shaved heads? [113]

(this came up when I googled emo, now thats not bad, but a bit high maintenance)

Ohh no! That is not emo!

This is emo!

WAY to much time to spend on your hair!

i can't stand idiots who say that someone having short hair is a skin head

I completely agree and as you can tell by the topic name it's not what I'm talking about, I just find it strange that out of the 30+ Polish guys I met in my life (I live in rural Cumbria so I don't meet that many Polish guys) all of them have very short hair.

As for me? I have around 4cm then I can style it if I want to but then I can leave it when I cba.

:D

Life / Is it me or do any guys in Poland not have shaved heads? [113]

Today, 17:19 #2

maybe it's because they start loosing hair sooner, so it's easy to say that he's shaved then bald ...? ;)

lol

I'm just yet to meet a Polish guy with more than 2cm of hair! :P

that's bad that their heads are bald but the rest of their body is hairy like a monkey's ... ;P

This is strange! the first time I was without my shirt in front of a polish girl she said to me "omg you don't shave under your arms?" I was like "err no"

(rofl)
