if the weather stays the same you'll get bright mornings, dull afternoons and maybe rain in the evening.

despite the forecast i'd say the weather is getting better.

one of the attractions might be the river in flood. one or two little villages out of town are suffering a bit.
the river, in the centre of town, is up about a metre and running fast.

u won't have any problems. when the water rises in some areas it becomes white water and makes for something a little different.

don't panic. the river is up a bit and i'm using a bit of dramatic licence.

So what is the best place in the rynek to enjoy a beer on a Sunday afternoon, and what qualities make it the best?

i don't drink much, but when i want a quiet pint i go to the british pub.

to give u an idea of what it's like..... most people don't go there.

BTW. check the weather forecast. it's very overcast here at the moment with a threat of rain. it is quite warm though.

convex might be best qualified to answer your question.

A lot of official murals seem to demand recognition as art.

i've mentioned in another thread that the graffiti in wroclaw is a disgrace. for a future city of culture it doesn't show anything good about the city. and i also doubt it will be cleaned up before euro 2012.

about the above pictures: the second from last is quite clever. the bottom 2-3 metres look like hooligan graffiti, but not all of it is. it is part of the original artwork.

some of the 'paid for' art is interesting. and i'd rather have it than those fcuking big canvas advertising posters, which cover the whole face of some buildings.

Is there a food that is specific for Wroclaw, like e.g. cebularze for Lublin?

red cabbage bigos, although i've never seen any.

it's in exactly the same place as Poltegor. at least where Poltegor once stood.

the wiki text mentions both buildings and who is paying for it etc.

one can also see it from Plac Bema, which is the other side of the river.

if u are looking for something that shows the future of wroclaw then sky tower would be a good example.

there is also Odra Tower, which is closer to rynek, but not as tall.

u can get them from ticket machines near some tram stops. the machines have a language option. the machines take cash or cards.

Food / Lentil pierogi & mushroom gołąbki [23]

i've never heard of lentil pierogi. and the mere thought of such a thing turns my stomach. lentils in thick broth is where it's at. but then it still doesn't work without suet dumplings.

i suppose gołąbki can be made with anything really.

money is the last thing i'd give to a couple on their golden wedding anniversary.

if u wish to give a gift to a couple who've been married for many moons and probably feel that they have everything... find out their interests and buy somthing appropriate. or just buy a good quality bouquet.

for some people it's more important that family and guests simply turn up.

I think there is a difference between pancakes and crepes.... Aren't crepes much thinner and nastier:)?

no. they are the same. just some people might like them a little thicker.

crepes may be cooked on a hot plate. pancakes are done in a frying pan.

american pancakes are different
