He would be very much such a person

He never rescinded the 10 commandments but always lashed out against the money-changers (bankers), intellectual elites (Pharisees), rich and promiscuous. Eventhough Moses allowed men to divorce their wives, Jesus was not in favour. Your distorted Jesus is about as twisted as that of the Liberation Theology heretics who depicted Christ wih an assault rifle. Jesus was always for the poor, underprivileged and disadvantaged.

Jesus (a leftist if ever there was one)

He did prefer the common people, the "salt of the earth" and the innocents to the erstewhile KOD-style elkites, the Pharisees and wealthy merchants. He would not fit in with today's leftists promoting "anything goes" morality, debauchery, perversionand sin, even arguing that there is no such thing as sin. If it feels good, go for it! - was deifntiely not among Jesus' teachings.

secular countr

Another HB lie! (Keep 'em coming to uphold your reputation!)That concept exists only in the addled brains of fanatical Christophobes. Remember that creepy bloke, something like Palikat, who wanted to have that concept enshrined in the consitution. Such terms as "secular state" or "separation of Church and state" are not found in the Polish constition. In fact only the constitutions of France and Slovenia explicitly use such terms. The Polish constitution defines the Church and state as sovereign entities which are able to cooperate for the common good.

even meet the bare minimum

Broken record -- tra-la-la-la-la-la-la..... You are now on the losing side. Hippy pacifism, leftism, PC dictatorship and all the "progressive" pro-homo and pro-tranny causes you stand far are now eroding... Many young people have turned away from hedonistic MTV and animal-planet lifestyles and are taking a renewed interest in their nation's history, patriotism, paramilitary and re-enactment groups, military-uniformed secondary-school classes, as well as exploring their Catholic faith anew. If you don't see that it only means you have sheltered yourself amid the declining niche of lefty, atheist pub-cralwers and other hedonists. Some cannot see the forest for the trees. HB cannot see Poland for the KODites!

Immigrant populations in general

Another sweeping generalisation. Emigrations vary -- another top-performing group are Orientals which reflects their traditonal upbringing marked by discipline, patience, determination and perseverence. The Muslim hordes flooding Europe at present are by and large extremely backward, greedy and lazy. Moreover, once the Djihad infrastructure is fully established, you know who they'll go after first and foremonst. Hint: it won't be those contemptuously referred to by some as heteros!

crystal clear

The only thing crystal clear is that HB is a total ignoramus. Those born in or before 1964 are baby-boomers, those before 1946 are not.
Whether someone likes it or not, symbolism has always been an important part of Polish Catholicism. King Jan Kazimierz dedicatede Poland to the BVM, Card. Wyszyński, after the red slime released him from isolation, launched a 9-year novena leading up to the Christian Millennium, placing Poland in "the enslavement of Mary", and now Christ's rule over Poland has been formally recognised. Such is the mystique of a nation whose Romanticism equated not with yearning, sighing and sobbing ("Die Leiden des jungen Werther") but saw Poland as the Christ of Nations. Only an idiot would polemicise with a nation's etsablished customs, religiosity or lore. One could sit back and take the stuffings out of the penchants and quirks of Irish, Italian, Hungarian or any other culture, but that would make as much sense as fighting the windmills of tradition.

about Poland's current regime,

Of course, you are right like your guru HB. Always! Jesus would love only the PO scamster regime and probably take Reprivatisation Queen HGW and the Tusk family Ambergold crew bodily into heaven.

which made him Jewish

...And Jews, as I have often pointed out, have tradionally been top performers, trail-blazrers and leaders in a great many different fields. Just compare the number of patented inventions in tiny Israel to any other country, to cite but one example.

No-one on God's good earth knows better what Jesus meant than baby-boomer HB. In fact he knows better on every subject in the book. That's what know-alls do!

History / The ongoing de-Germanisation of the Nazis and the Holocaust adds to Poland's Responsibility [124]

people waste time on fantasies

Those enagged in fanatasies today are primarily the leftist-liberal elites of America and Western Europe who went into total shock at Trump's victory. They failed to see the writing on the wall: Orbán's "Hungary first" policy, the victory of conservative Law and Justice in Poland, BREXIT, the near win of a rightist in Austria's presidential campaign (a re-vote is expected in December), plus naitonalist gains in France, Germany, Holland and elsewhere and finally the Trump victory. These were all furiously attacked by W. Europe's lefty political, media and academic elites as alleged individual assaults against "liberal" democracy . They failed to see them as part of a growing wave of the future. The lefties will of course try to hang on as long as possible (Schultz hopes to survive by moving down from the EU to regional German politics), but ultimately will get swept away and land in the rubbish heap of history!

Correction

Spasibo! My first contact with spoken Russian (when I was knee-high to a grasshopper -- nice Americanism!) was with my dziadek who had served in the tsarist army's (music corps) during the Russo-Japanese war. He must have spoken Russian with a Polish accent and that may have influenced my pronunciation despite later uni couse work in Russian. He also said ice-cream in Russian was sachermoroz (sugar frost?), whilst at uni I learnt it was morożenoje.

But dziadek was a great guy -- a yarn-spinner and jokester. He knew no German but gave me my first German lesson: kasza - gryca, czapka, myca, słonina - spek, gówno - drek (that's how he pronounced it).

a pejorative term

Typical of the addle-brained liberal-leftist elitists to make a federal case (big deal to the non-Yanks!) of a racial or ethnic slur but are oblivious to the many people who have real problems -- in America jobs being moved to cheapie countries such as Mexico, in Poland low-paying jobs forcing people to emigrate.

trying to deflect her own complicity

Wait till we get to the post-war periofd. The heinous performance of stalinist Jews in the early post-wart period, the torture and murder of AK freedom-fighters and other Polish patriots is rarely discussed on PF, so maybe it's high time. Now it is prominent people on the Polish scene who are trying to deflect their families' dastardly deeds. When someone came up to Michnik and asked about his brotehr Stefan (a fugitive from Polish justice hiding in Sweden), the Grand Stutterer contemptuously retorted: "Ch-cha-cha-chamstwo!" But what was boorish: someone's inquiry or the blood on the hands of a stalinist judicial murderer?

Ukrainian nationalists were very eager to join the nazis

The Ukrainians had in the back of their mind that siding with the Germans might somehow, some day lead to an independent Ukraine or at least an autonomous one functioning as a German protectorate. Even that was better than being under teh boot of the hated red Rooskies.

nazies were Germans. I disagree

The Nazis who came up with the Endlösung concept at Wannsee, those who designed, built, ovdersaw and operated the resultant KLs were not Liechtensteiners or Slovaks but Germans. The fact that they found flunkies to help in the daily routines or forced them to at gunpoint does not change the basic premise that this was a German concept from start ot finish.

Poles or Ukrainians serving in an overwhelmingly lower-level capacity

In such enumerations never forget the Jews of the Ghetto Police who helped brutally herd their fellow-Jews into the cattle trucks that took them to the death camps. Also the Jewish camp kapos who assisted the Germans in the extermination process and the Jewish elders of the Juden Rat who drew up lists of Jews and their addresses to facilitate their round-up. Poles were not perfect but neither were Jews. Everyone was trying to buy a little time and maybe survive a day or two longer, maybe the Allies would bomb Auschwitz or the Russians would come or some miracle would occur. That's how desperate people think.

'German' holocaust

Alhtough there were pro-Nazi or fascist organisations in many different countries, when we speak of Auschwitz, Sobibór,Majdanek, Treblinka and many others. they were not designed and operated by Father Tiso, Demjanjuk or Mosley but by Germans. You may be a graduate historian or history buff but most people are not, and constantly talking about "Polish concetrations camps, gas chambers and crematoria" is highly misleading to the uninformed public at large.

For 15 years after WW2 Poles were ranked amongst the many victims of the Third Reich. It was only after 1960 that things began to change, and Polish complicity was promoted for the first time. Initrially, Jews had preferred not to talk about that horrific tragedy, but now they realised money could be made on the Holocaust and what would later be called the "Holocaust industry" was born. Was it a mere coincidence that it all followed the historic Ben Gurion-Adenauer meeting in NY?

guileless victims

The resurgence of "hurray for our side" tribalism seven decades after the war's end makes little sense, because there were no guileless victims. To a greater or lesser extent all were both victism and victrimisers. Poles wronged Poles, Germans and Jews, Jews wronged Jews, Germans and Poles, Germans wronged Jews, Poles and Germans... Re Poland, there were both the rigtheous Jew-savers and the szmalcownicy. Eact figures are impossibe to re-create at present.

we have the rule of law

WE, meaning who? Anglo expats who hate Poles, Poland and everything Polish and want to make Poland over in the image and likeness of Pommyland? You won't get many Poles to fall in love with Heinz Baked Beans (never enter a lift with a Brit!), driving on the wrong side of the street, milky tea (uggh!), pub crawling and rugby!

turn away from the church

Despite that loss, somehow I believe the Church will survive. BTW htere is nothing in the 10 Commandments and 8 Beatitudes that tells people not to be kind and helpful.

Germans

You are aware of the fact that the word German is rarely used in Holocaust narratives these days and is replaced by Nazi. With each generation of youth fewer and fewer will know exactly what a Nazi was and what nationality he represented.

Unlike Nazi puppet state Slovakia, the Ukrainian SS unit and a similar formation in Lithuania, there was no organised Polish Nazi military, paramilitary or politcial entity in German-occupied Poland.

lot of Catholics

Judging from your posting profile, probably the onyl ones you rub elbows with are what are known as "cafeteria Catholics" who pick and choose from the Church's teachings only that which is nice, pleasant and convenient and reject the things that require deep commitment and sacrifice.

Merkel

Personally I find the Anglo pronunciation "Mirkle" rather hilarious. The second syllable is OK but the first should be pronounced like "mare" (female horse) not "mir". So it's MARE-kle.
