Sorry to disappoint u noimmigration but, to be fair, I think Brits spit just as much, if not more so, than the Poles. I rarely see it here. I saw it more often than I'd like in Scotland. Teaching people to queue in shops is stupid. They know how to stand in a line, it's just that certain Poles don't want to do it. It's not a question of education. Social hyping up of the rat race and perceived need to work hard all the time is a bigger contributing factor to people skipping queues and getting quicker to where they think they need to be.

I must be lucky as I feel free to walk around anywhere in Gliwice without the threat of a nob having a go at me. Admittedly, I see potential but I'd hazard a guess that Poles who commit crimes are strongly pushed in that direction and aren't such bad people. this does show the strain that Poles place on our NHS, increasing stress for GP's. It's just caused by sheer numbers. It can't be helped. I can imagine language being a barrier when talking about Medical English. I can see how bad feeling could come about from short term money hoarding and transferring home but Britain does allow Poles to work, that's at their discretion. I do believe that this careerism notion stems from selfishness and ego, oh, this is my career. Poles at least show that they can do odd jobs and not follow a robotic path at home.

Sorry Bubba Woo, the focus of that article wasn't centered on Poles but u r right. Time to get realistic and admit that Poles do commit a fairly high %age of crimes. This is only the statistical perspective tho. The social factor sometimes brings that about. Earning such little money leads to frustration. Hatred breeds hatred too.

Be sure about securing a place first and read up on ur rights as a foreigner here. There have been numerous cases of jobs being offered, the paperwork apparently finalised, and the plugged being pulled very late into proceedings, i.e when the teacher has moved country. There was a thread about it. The teaching itself is quite straightforward if u r used to it. I've learned to use my discretion more, e.g the book prescribes pairwork but I do small groupwork etc. What more can I say?

They haven't specified the exact nature or outline of the course but I expressed my willingness last May when I was interviewed for the job. I did Management at Uni for 4 years so it would be nice to apply some of the things I learned. Language teaching is becoming more functional/practical but the branching out process has been tentative. I find there to be a nice blend between grammatical aspects and vocational topics, they are often interspersed and not so mutually exclusive. Secretarial skills hasn't popped up so far, it could be a topic of conversation. I taught IT but at such a basic level. It was one of my stronger subjects in my undergrad. I have to coordinate the workload with my co-teacher so there is limited latitude really, mild deviations from the book so far but that may change. Any other questions? I have to hit the sack soon

The industry in Poland has a predilection for Cambridge courses. I get the chance to teach CPE privately which is a challenge at times. I'm teaching from this CAE Result book for the first time. Before that, it was CAE Masterclass in Callan. I hope to teach LCCI here but the relevant opportunity hasn't cropped up as of yet

I've been teaching here in Poland for over 3 years now. I work for Profi and Britam currently and also worked at Speed Callan. I was a trainer in Callan. I also have 2 years of experience in the now bankrupt NOVA but I enjoyed it out there. I have found the CELTA to be largely redundant here, some nice extra letters after the name but of minimal practical value. It just showed me how MSc and DELTA teachers teach. I scraped through my CELTA but who gives a Castlemaine XXXX? Target a school and find out their requirements. Any advice, I'd be happy to help

As I've said, Zubr, but other great beers I've tried have been Czech Budweiser (Budvar) mentioned above, Kingfisher which is an Indian beer and Tsingtao, Chinese. Many Asian beers are good, all of a reasonable quality. I used to drink Suntory or Sapporo. I quite liked Moosehead when I tried it, a nice Canadian brew. Poland is right up there with the best. Zywiec in Zywiec went down a treat

Damn it, I had written a long script for Wrocław Boy to read about shopping here and it deleted at the last, swine!! OK, just to say that I've had many similar experiences. The last time it happened, I gave the twat a hell of a look. It's like being caught between a rock and a hard place. The attendant is slow and the hyped up f*** behind u is having a fit. I'm a fairly relaxed here but one time a security guy had to come as I was getting visibly agitated. He was an old duffer so he wouldn't've held me back. I got things under control but that's a pet peeve of mine, impatient people. That was at Carrefour a few months back. Today, it was the same place but outside, waiting for a taxi. A woman in front of my girl and I had ordered a taxi. She was waiting. the taxi pulled up and she headed towards it. This dyke lookin bint rushed up and tried to snatch it from her. We had also ordered a taxi and the bint looked frustrated that the woman got the first one. So, when ours pulled up, she tried the same stunt and started moaning that we skipped in in front of her. Maybe she should be genitally mutilated. As for conveyor belt queing in Carrefour, I need to use my elbows and 102kgs frame. They have a weird thing where u put ur shopping up and then have to reverse back and park ur mini-trolley behind where the chewing gum and sweets are. People stand in ur way like u r challenging them, rather than following procedure. I'm patient but I have my limits. Don't get me started on dividers/segregators. OO!!
