I don't think much about my CELTA, it was one month and then all over. What matters is teamwork here, whether it be with a co-teacher like in Profi, or informing others of ur progress in Callan. I have slightly more freedom at Britam. The CELTA is just like my LLM, letters on a piece of paper, whoopdeedoo. 2 a penny these days TEFL qualifications

What I've learned is that the students expect the native speakers to be entertaining. They don't have to be 'all that' as teachers, just capable of being light-hearted and approachable. It's getting the balance right that's the niggly part. I'm quite comfortable teaching any grammar but there is a need to get involved. Maybe it's a question of giving them a distraction from a humdrum existence. Keeping interest is also important. Many students already know the material b4 I teach it so u have to 'doll it up' and give it some spice. It's a game.

The stakes are raised when passing an exam based course is at issue. The Cambridge complet or LCCI for example. I feel the need to be professional to a high level as they pay good money for these courses and don't want to feel cheated.

The Rat Race is a sign of the times. If u r good enough at sth, u should keep ur job inter alia. I'll be perfectly honest, it does frustrate me a bit that so many Poles think they can just take a flight over and start working in the UK but the flipside is that they are merely using their options, they are entitled to do so. Tedious as it is, people here continuously telling me they are going to the UK to work, if there are vacancies the good luck to them. I'd love it if Poles opened their eyes a little more and saw how nice their country is. Yeah, rich coming from me as I'm doing quite well here but job creation is on the up and unemployment has dropped considerably. Thankfully, times are looking better for native Poles. Many Poles are patriotic so this is an encouraging sign

Sound advice would be to know ur contract, people have been tripped up on those niggling little provisions which have cost them. I've been a teacher for 3.5 years here, although I'm not at liberty to discuss my contracts.

I know how it feels. Discipline is hard to maintain. Just blame it on a bad metabolism. My sister cracked me up when she said that her weight gain program was going swimmingly well. I come from a food loving family but I drew the shortest straw, hehehe. Nah, I'm not fat really but over 100kg's. Big-boned with relaxed muscle is how I prefer to view myself.

Drinking Screwdrivers, vodka and orange. Pan Tadeusz from Zielona Góra is quite sth. It is one of those drinks that keeps its English name, not Śrubokręt or however it is in Polish. Not like Sex on the Beach which is sometimes changed to Sex na plaże.

Polish people, for all their meat eating, especially here in Silesia where people love rolada and kotlety, are not obese. They find ways of working off the calories, I think I know how, LOL
