He was a pretty vile individual

i've mentioned on the forum in the past that i once met him. in the middle of rynek, just chatting to people, he was a nice guy.

good or bad, he provided entertainment at times with is inappropriate behaviour in the parliament building.
however, although i wouldn't call him vile he did show a lot of negatives.

his death was not expected and does come as a shock. regardless of what he was.

I would ask that this question be addressed within the confines of the Polish and American systems.

u don't give us much of a chance to answer. i haven't much idea about american education, but many seem to be doing fine with it. half of my clan are being educated in germany where less is more. it's the style of teaching here that is fcuked up as well as the changes as to what is and should be taught. however, the thing that annoys me most is the list of good/bad schools and the various profiles they offer. forcing useless facts on a pupil is more about the schools standing than the child's education.

in Poland education doesn't do much to secure a job, but a few years down the line the 'extra bits' come into play. and it's when that person gets to 27-30 yrs old that he/she begins to shine.

but u are the one who worked at the top level of education here, so please say if u agree or not.

Work / Travel costs to Warszawa (Warsaw) for interview for foreigners [6]

as I don't live in PL I would have to travel more than 1600 km one way and spend a lot to sit interview in Warsaw I asked if they cover transport cost, the answer was negative.

explain this to the company and ask to do an interview by phone.

some companies do do phone interviews at the first level.

most people like plants/flowers. an office or flat has no garden, so why not have a few plants dotted around the place. they add a sort of freshness too.

Life / Is it me or do people "seem" to live longer in Poland? Life expectancy among Poles. [52]

i agree in part. thinking about it, due to the war and work conditions, one might expect to see more women in their 90's than men.

however, i also know of men who died in their 50's. but maybe they are small in number and only stood out because they were neighbours.

still, one can't argue with facts. there are some old folks out there.

there are plenty of negative threads here. it is allowed to post such things.

once the thread is in place it is up to posters to discuss it.

those time counters on some traffic lights.

i was wondering if they appeared elsewhere. now i know. it seems not.

Someone in the PF said this fountain in the Market Square is a disaster.

i don't like the fact that the city spends so much time and money on fountains. it's like an obsession.

i like the fountain in rynek. there was a choice of two: one traditional, one modern. there was a period, soon after installation, when the city discussed moving it elsewhere because it didn't fit in.

The tram driver has to go out to change the rails

not on all lines of course.
