Love / Are Polish Women cold and aloof? [249]

Yes, and that's all it'll ever be but I use my eyes and I am a very fair man. NOBODY could begrudge me that. Many are that way and many aren't, that's the truth. I'm not in the habit of generalising. I had certain character types in mind.

I think a lot are IMHO. Many are self-centred little princesses.

I agree with EraAtlantia above, they flaunt their education to hide the reality that they make peanuts. They also quickly turn sharp-tongued, I've noticed that. I often feel like telling them to rap up. No wonder Polish language has words like 'zamknij reja or stół pysk'.

Sorry, felt like a rant but there is much truth in what I said

Love / Nice Polish women photos [329]

Not wholly true but the incidence of divorce is lower than in the US and many other countries.

News / What is wrong with Poland that Poles emigrate? [167]

U want a laugh, I'll give u one. Last week, I received an e-mail from an employment agency in the UK. I was taken aback. They were disappointed that I hadn't sent them an updated CV. The last contact? June 2001, LOL, WTF?

Good luck to Polish people who liaise with such losers.

Life / I'm British in Poland and I think that it's time to go back to the UK! [240]

ASDA is a fantastic store now. I was in a couple of times last week and got some great Indian and Chinese food for cheap. I'll miss the vast range they have there. TESCO is good here but doesn't have the variety of Oriental cuisine that I like.

1st world country it ain't, it most certainly ain't 3rd world either.

PESEL and REGON are very useful. Polish is used at airports back home and also official documents are in Polish. Here, they are very reluctant to use English or provide documentation in English. This is a breach of the law. U have a legal right to be furnished with documents in 2 languages.

Food / What's your favorite Polish beer? [870]

Super website. The beer produced in Zabrze is very cheap but drinkable. It was targetted at miners coming off of a long shift. In some countries, I'd be scared to drink such cheap offerings but they go down better than u'd think in Poland.

Well, if u r gonna make a nation alcoholic, be as well do it in style :)

They have taken out Lech Lite I think. They tried Lech Strong which I had hoped would be popular, but it never really took off after its launch. Gee, u've got me rubbing my head at that question. Poland doesn't really take the middle ground, it's either +5% or 0 for the most part.

Lech Lite is available in some places.

Lech is objectively better tho I prefer Zubr. Zubr is a beer that u buy in shops whereas Lech is sold in restaurants and pubs more. Bear in mind Sean that Zubr is 6%, on the strong side for a 'standard' beer. Lech 'lags' behind on 5.2%, Tyskie is 5.6%.

Enjoy!!

Do they have a similar brewing tradition? I guess they are much and such for quality and hard to tell apart. Just a hunch. Polish beer is fairly distinct. I can tell a Lech apart from a Zubr and a Zubr from a Tyskie.

Lithuania, I've only tried one but it was a cracking beer. It's an award winning one. Svytury is the name, mmm...

It's hard to make a beer really stand out. I was reading Michael Palin's Around the World in Eighty Days book and was glad to read that he found Kingfisher to be one of the best beers he had ever tasted. I've said it b4, Kingfisher is what a good beer should be. The Indians can be proud of that!!

I mean, if u extend the net a wee bittie to encompass ales, I'd rather have a good British ale than drink a Polish beer. Don't get me wrong, Polish beers are refreshing and can hold their own but there are better. I have a Singha and Tiger in the fridge, bought today in ASDA. Crisp and tasty!!

Love / My boyfriend is on a Polish dating site [158]

He might follow Mick Jagger's logic, 'it seems very hard to have just one girl, when there's a million in the world'. Still, I wouldn't be so sure. Some guys go online to dating services out of boredom more than with intent
